Name
Cassey Chanel.
Ethnicity
Kenyan and British.
Nationality
Kenyan and British.
Shoot Location
Marrakech, Morocco.
Where do you call home?
Mombasa, Kenya.
What’s the most exciting place you’ve travelled to for your career?
Morocco.
Who is your favourite designer right now?
Kanye West and Rihanna.
Who do you look up to?
My Papa and people who’ve had hard lives..
What do you do when you’re not modelling?
I take pictures and videos and usually come out with something creepy and odd. I also dance a lot – like I vogue in my room for hours and I’m getting into cutting clothes up and making them look yeezy/walking dead style.
What was the high point of the shoot?
When I got to get close to the camels and also when the team would make jokes to lighten the mood.
And the low point?
Mmm I don’t ever think there were low points but waking up early and finishing late was tiring, but so worth it. And saying goodbye to the team at the airport made me so sad.
What did you love about the people in Marrakech?
What I loved about them was how they would try to rip me off and think they’d get away with it with a smile – I’m Kenyan, I know these things, so don’t play me haha. But they’re lovely, welcoming, warm-hearted people.
The best meal you had while on location?
Lamb tagine with couscous was the bombest thing that I have ever eaten I had it every day while I was there.
What did you pack in your suitcase?
Clothes which I hardly wore.
