General Celebrity Gossip
I have no idea. I cannot imagine that the Daenerys ending will be like in the show. Or if it is, we get a slower progression to her becoming the villain. It felt all too rushed on the show. I also find the idea that GRRM would let Bran sit on the Iron Throne at the end of it weird. So I think that too will be resolved differently. Jon Snow going beyond the Wall after the war is over does seem more like a GRRM plot line. And I think San-San shippers might be right that Martin at least originally intended to have Sansa end up with Sandor Clegane. Apart from her dreams and the amount of times she thinks of him after she departs King's Landing (IIRC there is just one Sansa POV chapter in which Clegane isn't at least mentioned), there is also the vision of her dark-haired children (can't remember what book). Whether or not he still intends to do that remains to be seen.

General Celebrity Gossip
I read the entire series in between season one and two of GoT. So I have been waiting for the sixth book for around a decade now.

GRRM has been working on this one for eleven years. If he still has a quarter of the book to write, then we are looking at 14, possibly 15 years before he is done. There is no way he will ever finish the seventh book at that tempo. He might be pushing eighty by the time he releases Winds of Winter. If it ever gets released.

House of the Dragon (2022)
Brothers Kermit and Oscar Tully and their pal Benjicot Blackwood. AKA Bloody Ben. I think possibly the kid we saw killing the Bracken when Rhaenyra was considering suitors is meant to be young Benjicot. Though I think they gave him another name in that episode? He might also not be him and just a relative (most likely a cousin then). They are three young commanders of the Riverlands troops that will support the Blacks. But they only feature towards the end of the war so I think we might only see them in season three or four.

House of the Dragon (2022)
I know they probably won't even feature in Season two yet but I do hope House of the Dragon eventually gives us the Lads.

House of the Dragon (2022)
I think they probably did it to make Aemond not a total villain, but in the books it's much more of a clear murder attempt. Also, Borros Baratheon does more of a real attempt to protect Prince Lucerys. Strangely they seemed to decide to make Aemond more sympathetic and Borros less so.

House of the Dragon (2022)
I thought the Aemond Lucerys stuff was handled poorly. I don't think it's meant to be interpreted as an accident in the books. So why would they portray it as such in the TV show?

BZ'ers talking models at the Bar
Looking great! She turns 37 in March, which is crazy. She can easily lie ten years about her age.

Sigh. It's not about the illusion of the U.S. being perfect or the U.S. not serving their own interests. Obviously they are doing some war profiteering with their gas deliveries to the EU as well. But can any sane person truly say they would rather live under the sphere of influence of Russia than of the U.S.? I know which of the two I prefer.

LOL! As if it was an original idea of Trump's that Europe's dependence on Russian gas was problematic. This has been a discussion for literal decades, with many other European countries criticizing Germany for their choices. In truth it's not hard to see how that happened, Putin bought lots of soft power by reeling in the likes of Schröder & co. That's why it's dangerous to allow Russian money to pour into our democracies, as I stated some posts back.

LOL! When have I defended CNN? I don't even remember ever mentioning CNN in any discussion. I never watch CNN. Probably haven't in over twenty years. For someone who gets so mad about people putting words in your mouth, you seem pretty cavalier about doing it yourself. And not caring about the whole drama about race swapping and gender swapping isn't the same as "rejoicing". I just don't give a single fuck about it. I have better things to do with my time.

Europe will suffer because Putin used gas supply as a way to blackmail us into submission. He had already reduced the flow to a trickle of its previous volumes long before the pipeline was blown up. The reason why the market reaction to the pipeline destruction wasn't much more vast was precisely because so little gas was still moving across them anyway.

So we agree, dirty influence money from authoritarian regimes pouring into democracies is bad for those democracies. The only thing I don't get is why I should be any more or less worried about Russian money than Chinese or Saudi money (to give just two of your examples).

LOL. You accuse me of putting words in your mouth and then I get this kind of bullshit in return. Thanks.

The Political Correctness Haters' Club
If Russia win they will continue with large scale war crimes and de facto acts of genocide, how is that good for anyone? And why would anyone assume that Putin would be content with just Ukraine or some chunks of Ukraine?

The "What Are You Thinking About Right Now?" PIP
I agree we should not rely on Azeri oil. The problem is that beggars cannot be choosers. Ideally Europe as a whole turns away from fossil fuels as quickly as possible. Then we do not have to deal with any of the horrible regimes, whether they are Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Saudi-Arabia, ... As for European defense, most countries have expanded their defense budget already. But it will take time for those investments to make a difference, at least a few years. So it's not something that will have an impact on this current situation, either way. I'm talking about stuff that can impact the war effort right now and that Europe could conceivably do differently.
