June 24, 200916 yr The Mars Volta were never the easiest band to get into at the best of times, but more so if you've only seen them live. They make a lot more sense if you're able to listen to the album from start to finish. It takes a few plays to get under your skin, and then it starts to get addictive. Haven't heard any of the new stuff yet, but I did read a review that said it sounded like a wheelbarrow full of pneumatic drills being kicked down a spiral staircase, so I'm already sold! And it's a deal on Regina!
