In a game filled with creative covers, this one might be my favorite one:

Best Coast + Blondie ÷ 'Christmas Wrapping' style vocals = brilliant. Who knew?

New Queens of the Stone Age. 2013 is definitely the year of the comebacks.

^ Great song! Finally new material. It's been a while since their last album.

They were at the Lollapalooza Festival here, 3 days ago, though I couldn't go, and they played at least one new song. Not sure if it was this one.

I definitely didn't know they were still around (although I didn't actually look at the copyright on my last one) and good to see a promising song .

Very moving performance by Cat Power on Tuesday evening's Jools Holland show...

And here's Suede, The Strypes and Laura Mvula from the same broadcast.

Is anyone else watching Coachella live on youtube?

Metric and Alt-J at the moment

I didn't realise it was streaming live but I caught a bit of The xx and Polica today.

New track premiered by Empire of the Sun this morning. Summer can now begin.

And another one by London band Wolf Alice.

Random cover version corner - Deap Vally do Jake Bugg. I think I like it more than the original.

Primal Scream, Haim (can't make my mind up if Este's bass faces are for real or not ) and Everything Everything do this week's Jools show.

A new song by Black Sabbath.

Great riffs by Tony Iommi, as usual. It's almost the original line-up. The original drummer, Bill Ward, is not participating this time. Brad Wilk (from Rage Against the Machine) takes his place here.

Loved the song! Sabbath's classic heaviness and density are back!

^Much better than I would have expected from Black Sabbath in 2013. Ozzy's voice is still hanging in there.

Another new one by Savages. I want the album on my phonograph so badly.

Here's a behind the scenes feature from Haim's video for 'Falling', which is posted a couple of pages back.

Unexpected collaboration treat #1: Noah and the Whale and Anna Calvi.

Unexpected collaboration treat #2: Polica and Bon Iver.

Recently discovered track by new artist Findlay. A page ripped directly from the Jack White playbook, but in considerable style.
