People also thought they saw a wolf on Jon's blood when he dies and the creators came out and said it wasn't intentional 10 minutes ago, CandleVixen said: Probably just a happy accident. Most likely. It isn't even THAT clear... in the picture posted the image is quite zoomed in. I definitely didn't notice when I saw the episode.
September 9, 20177 yr I was on holidays the past weeks, so I only got the chance to finally see the last episode today! Interesting episode. Littlefinger... Spoiler ... got what he deserved. That little SOB. People compare Littlefinger to Machiavelli, but it's unfair for Machiavelli. Above all, Machiavelli wanted the happiness of his people. It's true that he would advise violence, deception or cunning, just like Littlefinger (that's their common parts). However, Littlefinger did it for himself. So, I'd say that Varys is the character who is the closest to Machiavelli.
September 9, 20177 yr ^ yes, it was too short, but how about the character Tyene Sand? You know the one who knows that "you want a good girl, but you need a bad..."

Varys is like the 'good' court adviser and LF is like the 'evil' one. Overall, it can be said that he was too reckless and made too many mistakes throughout the series. A good operator would be more secretive.

Yes, I agree. At the beginning, he was a lone predator using deception pretty efficiently (even if he was a pervert bastard). As soon as he started to hunt out in the open (by showing off too much), he was screwed. He should have stayed hidden, like a crocodile in water or a crab in seaweeds... A lot of the charcters look like animal predators (their sigil basically...). Starks are really like a wolf pack (I liked the quote of their father on wolf packs in the last episode). Cersei is really like a lion mother protecting her cubs. Stannis was a stag ready to charge.

The downward slide started when he pulled the knife on Eddard Stark- in plain sight of the entire court. Prior and in S2, he is depicted as having a huge spy network but this is not depicted much later on. He also killed Lysa Arrayn right in front of Sansa. (not necessary). Someone so rich as him doesn't have to do the dirty work himself. Also pimps and other men of their type have a high level understanding of women, head games, and sexuality (pimps are professional manipulators)- he should have been suspicious of Sansa the whole time but he wasn't. He also openly threatened one of the leaders of the Vale while using them to escort him into Winterfell - a good operator wins their strongest allies loyalty with honey, not fear. I did like Aiden's acting though. It was a bit over-the top but he was always interesting.
