PrettyDeadThings Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 AMC ANNOUNCES TWO-SEASON ORDER FOR ACOMPANION SERIES TO “The Walking Dead” (TITLE TBD)New Series Will Air Day-and-Date on AMC GlobalNEW YORK, NY – March 9, 2015 – AMC today announced that it has placed an initial two-season order for a companion series to “The Walking Dead,” the #1 show on television among adults 18-49 for going on three seasons. The new series (title to be announced) will be set in Los Angeles and focused on new characters and storylines. The show’s first season will consist of six one-hour episodes and premiere on AMC in late summer. The show’s second season will air in 2016. Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert from “The Walking Dead” are executive producers of the new series, which, like the original, is being produced by AMC Studios. Dave Erickson (“Marco Polo,” “Sons Of Anarchy”), who co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman, is an executive producer and showrunner. The series will star Cliff Curtis (“Missing,” “Gang Related”), Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, “Sons Of Anarchy”), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm). “We take incredibly seriously the notion of building a satisfying companion series to the number one show on television. From the beginning of ‘The Walking Dead’ on AMC, we’ve been asked questions about what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and what it looked like as the world really did ‘turn.’ Through this new series, we’re going to find out,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president. “Robert Kirkman, Dave Erickson and their writing team, along with an incomparable set of producers, cast and crew have created something remarkable and clearly distinct. We respectfully follow the request of Monty Python as we bring out (the latest of) our Dead.” “We feel empowered by this two-season commitment, a serious show of faith from our network partner AMC,” Kirkman said. “I personally take it as a sign that they believe, like we do, that we’ve accomplished our goal of developing something original that can pay tribute to the original show and expand the world I created while at the same time having something new to say with this story. I’m very grateful that we now have the opportunity to tell this amazing story and show the fans that we really haven’t scratched the surface yet when it comes to ‘The Walking Dead.’” “This vote of confidence from our partners at AMC is gratifying, to say the least,” Erickson said. “We’ve been blessed with amazing writers and a stellar cast – and we can’t wait to build this apocalyptic drama over the next two seasons and hopefully beyond.” In addition, AMC Global, the international AMC-branded television network, announced it has acquired the international television rights to the series, which it plans to air within 24 hours of the U.S. premiere. AMC Global launched in late 2014 and is available in over 115 countries and territories throughout Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East Quote

Once all the back Americans are dead they are going to start looking towards Asian Americans... Run Glenn! run!! They have killed half of their black characters since the start of the season. As opposed to one of the white characters. Quote

saudade Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 They've gotten better as the show has progressed. Atleast theyre not killing off/writing out one black character as soon they introduce a new black character like they were doing for a bit earlier in the show. Who misses Lindsay Ellingson Beth and her singing? No one? I'm intrigued by the spinoff show and wonder if they'll touch upon how the outbreak was caused and what happened to the government and military. Quote

frenchkiki Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 U really want to know why humanity is so stoopid? I mean, it's just dead coming back to still dead life to eat you. Zombies. Ok, hard to handle at first because of the panic and it happened fast and all but i can't believe the humanity will go the an end because of dead people. Ok it might happen in USA because = cowboys shoot and then ask questions. But! I am pretty sure if everybody get their shit together we will figure out something? Because they are just slow rotting dead people for the love of baby cheesus Christ!! Quote
Stormbringer Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Yes!! I want to know! btw, take a look at this article 7 Scientific Reasons a Zombie Outbreak Would Fail (Quickly) http://www.cracked.com/article_18683_7-scientific-reasons-zombie-outbreak-would-fail-quickly_p2.html Quote
Lyla Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 USA has protocol for this scenario. Not kidding...I mean zombie apocalypse. Quote
toodarnhot Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I think the spin off is going to be about the start/cause of the outbreak. I heard a rumour that one of the storylines is going to be the government trying to cover up that it's happening, and I believe they're going to touch on the CDC and possibly bring back that guy who worked there from season 1. FashionDream Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I hope Maggie is next to go, just can't stand her for some reason. (And the acting) The only ones I care about are Michonne and Carol, I hope they last Sure the priest is being a pain right now, but he's just now making the storyline interesting... So I don't want to see him go yet. Quote
Diabolo Fraise Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 The last episode was very good, even if it doesn't look like a final episode. Quote
