June 10, 20195 yr @Prettyphile what does the frog mean? I see it all the time but it seems to mean different things to different people.

His name is Pepe Pepe the Frog is an anthropomorphic frog character from the comic series Boy’s Club by Matt Furie. On 4chan, various illustrations of the frog creature have been used as reaction faces, including Feels Good Man, Sad Frog, Angry Pepe, Smug Frog and Well Meme'd. Throughout 2008, Pepe was mostly associated with the "Feels Good Man" reaction image. On February 4th, Something Awful contributor Jon Hendren (a.k.a. @fart) posted the "Feels Good Man" comic to the site. In 2009, an edited version featuring a distraught-looking Pepe with the caption "Feels bad man" began circulating as a reaction image on 4chan and the Body Building Forums. On January 25th, 2011, an interview with Furie was published on Know Your Meme, in which he discussed the origins of Pepe the Frog. On June 13th, 2014, the PepeTheFrogBlog Tumblr blog was launched. On July 23rd, the Pepe the Frog Instagram[14] feed was created. On October 25th, the /r/pepethefrog subreddit was launched for content featuring the frog character. On December 7th, a Facebook[10] page for "Pepe the Frog" was created. On December 18th, the PepeTheFrogNet Tumblr blog was launched. There are hundreds more incarnations of Pepe - each face represents something different. FeelsBadMan FeelsGoodMan PepeHands The Left/Liberals (media wise/SJW's) took Pepe and tried to turn him into a "racist" symbol because they have zero personality, zero memeing ability, have no idea how to fact check origins and got trolled hard core by 4chan, Reddit and twitch. Most gamers are pro Trump, and the left doesn't like the meme's we embody, thus Pepe is Racist. Honk is racist

I did not think to grab a pick of my x-ray. The toe is the one next to my left pinky toe. The break is at the joint connecting to the foot, and so most of it hurts like hell. This is my first broken bone ever. You'll be back to 100% in no time!

To express a certain feeling, a regular emoticon can be used without invoking the frog. Is the use of pepe meant to say that I am a Trump supporter and/or "I can see the matrix"? So is it a political meme or is it non-political, or both? Confusing.

Pepe and the dozens upon dozens of incarnations of him are often used on Twitch/4Chan and Reddit to express emotions without having to write it. Example without using Pepe You're excited about something. Rather then write something like "OMG! HOLY SHIT!", twitch will use PogChamp = This video will show Chat Spam using emotes and text. You'll see Pepe being used a couple of times because people are happy 8 hours ago, Cult Icon said: Is the use of pepe meant to say that I am a Trump supporter and/or "I can see the matrix"? So is it a political meme or is it non-political, or both? Confusing. It's kinda both. Depends on who you're talking to. To the Liberal Media and SJW's they see a lot of twitch emotes as the bastion of the Alt-Right (mostly because they can't meme and get trolled hard by us when we use them). To us Twitchers/4Chan/Redditers they're a means of expression, trolling, and just having a good time. ^^ Poggers BibleThump KKona= I'm hyped/excited and the song is sad (used ironically) and KKona = Redneck, Sister Fucking, South, Hillbilly Meme KKona KKona At the end of the day there are thousands of emotes, and either you know them and use them, or you don't. It's kinda like being part of a "not so secret" community.

Jordan Peterson has a lot of pretty good analyses on Pepe the frog. There's this one (below), but I remember another one, that was deeper. Peterson has very interesting analyses on symbols (they don't show it in the mainstream media, but he has great views on symbolism in general).

June 14, 20195 yr ^ Petereson is one of the most interesting intellectuals of the moment. He brings a lot of interesting analyses and he does it with a judicious use of symbolism. The only problem is that "debate", "diversity of thought", "critical thinking" are concepts that are less and less important in mainstream media. These guys are more and more in a crusade of "good vs. evil". If you slightly disagree with them, they identify you as evil. If they identify you as evil, then you can't have the right to speak. That's what we could call a "soft" form of totalitarinism. Memes like Honk are just a way to express desperation with laughter. It actually reminds me of this Spoiler
