I like the Colonial architecture in the Northeast which definitely has an English vibe to it.

That's true, a lot of it quite good but IMHO the architecture is rarely splendid or grand.  A lot of it is also rotting and displaced by modern architecture and housing.  There are pockets of heaven on earth on the east coast but it's usually in wealthy towns or vacation spots where the $$ comes in to support all the infrastructure.  Stonington CT. Mountain Desert Island, Maine,  are a model vacation/coastal town/regions and Greenwich CT is a model wealthy town.

A lot of cities on the East coast have been hollowed out by globalization and corporate movements.  I was living in Bangor, Maine for the past couple of days and it's a small, rotting ghost city.  The downtown area is half empty and like many other cities, it shows signs of once having a much higher level of vibrancy.

The opposite end is a city that is well-stocked with corporate and financial offices, which brings in a lot of money but the result is a very "corporate" retail culture and malls and so forth, all of which sell mostly the same things to the middle class and poor.

The places with the highest culture are usually areas in various cities (I was just in Portland, Maine and there are a few good streets) or wealthy towns where a lot of high-skill artists and craftsmen sell their wares.

I hit the "end of the world" at Lubec, Maine and it was extremely foggy and windy/rainy.  It was a supernatural journey and with the environs,  it seemed to me that we were traveling into a strange dream- something from Lovecraft.  A poor fishingmen's town is what it was- inter-cut with streams and rivers from the Atlantic Ocean.  A self-reliant appearance, with nothing corporate.  The natural environment was quite majestic and gloomy at the same time.

Weird thought of the day: who are the most successful shorter models?

Maybe it's an impossible question depending on the definitions of shorter and successful.

Cara Delevinge and Barbie Palvin.  Cara seems to be extremely well connected even though she was several inches! shorter than other fashion models on the runway.

Another one that comes to mind is Sara Sampaio.

I guess it would depend on your definition of successful.

^  I think my question is at least somewhat flawed.

For example, I'm not sure I would have thought of Cara, Barbara and Sara as short. They are probably slightly below average compared to runway models, but are not uniquely short, meaning there are many others around the same height. Also, there is no way to clearly define success.   :idk:

Flawed and weird question, but not necessarily a bad one.

I was going on their height being below 5’10”.

I feel like going into the Babs's thread guns blazing just to see how crazy that thread is.
