Recently I did:

 

1. two batches of Oatmeal Raisin cookies 

 

2. pan-seared pork chops and breaded/fried pork chops (with bones removed).  like this:

My mom actually likes them with butter, cheese and bell pepper..

 

Haha they are like really thick chips, so you can chew them pretty easily, but as I said - they taste like cardboard and no topping can salvage them..:yucky:

I wonder if that all people up north ate in the winter (in the middle ages) was dried meat, preserved foods, and crispbread..

did 2 more box cakes, both with 4 eggs each and 8 oz. butter :

 

Duncan Hines Red Velvet:  4 out of 5-  not as great as Betty Crocker's Red Velvet, but still good.  Less expansion, less texture, less flavor.

 

Betty Crocker Confetti Cake: 4 out of 5  -  Not much of confetti cake with very weak sprinkles.   In the main, it's a good vanilla cake.  I heard the Pillsbury company makes a good box cake of this type- will try it later.

I haven't made pancakes, but I suggest to look around the internet for recipes and make a few first. Then use those to come up with your own pancake recipe.

My experiment with box cakes is done.

 

Betty Crocker >>>> Duncan Hines.  Artificial fruit and spice flavors don't really work except for DH Orange.   Red Velvet was the overall best flavor and worked well for both brands.  Other than that, plain yellow and vanilla work.

@Cult Icon would you please share your oatmeal raisin recipe if it’s from scratch? I’m always up for more sweets.

TBH it was just 4 out of 5 result- I used a random recipe from google..there has to be better recipes out there.

did something similar on sunday.  Not as good as this pro though:

 

 

oatmeal + syrup + a dash of cinnamon + a little butter makes the oatmeal stop tasting like prison food.
