Mortal Instruments: City of Bones : Nothing spectacular, just a regular ok-ish fantasy action movie

Taking Woodstock (2009)

haha, Scarface, the movie about the biggest a$$hole on earth

The Witch-Definitely not a movie for everyone. Everyone who walked out of the theater before me said "It suuuucckkkked" "Boring as hell" but I think going in a lot of people thought it was going to be an in your face gory movie. And it wasn't. It wasn't even necessarily about the witch, but the tension within a family accusing one another. Great acting and a cool setting. As alot of movie reviewers described it, it's definetly a slow burn movie. Would have been a 7/10 but the last 15 minutes bumped it up to a 9/10.

it was underwhelming, Stone's script is pretty weak

The whole movie is based around Al Pacino spazzing out and going on violent rants, lol.

Lindsay, thanks for the review!

What did you think of this one? :)

It confounded me a bit, if I'm honest. Great performances all round, but the second half of the movie (trying to avoid spoilers, of course) seemed to lack any kind of dramatic stakes or coherence, with lots of shifts in perspective and a seemingly random mix-up of domestic scenes. It led to a welcome uplifting climax, but one that I personally felt hadn't been fully earned. There's a great film to made about the resilience of a child in peril, I'm not sure if that was it though.
