Another NY Post article about Leo's party; who was spending what during charity fundraiser

There is ,also, a Leo/ Clooney reference which was pulled from US Mag article

leo1.jpg

Nigerian oil, gas and aviation tycoon Kola Aluko spent more than $1 million in a few hours at Leo DiCaprio’s star-studded birthday bash.

Multimillionaire businessman Aluko, a co-founder of the Made In Africa Foundation who war recently seen lunching in Paris with Naomi Campbell, was among a group of wealthy businessman who bought bottle after bottle of champagne at DiCaprio’s 39th birthday party at Tao Downtown late Sunday night.

Other big spenders included “The Wolf of Wall Street” producer Joey McFarland and Texas businessman Nate Paul. Kanye West was paid $100,000 by DiCaprio, personally, to perform. The actor raised more than $3 million on the night for his charity the Leo DiCaprio Foundation by adding a hefty fee on top of all the bottles, plus donations from his wealthy friends.

One guest told us, “The party was wild — wall-to-wall models. There were probably 20 girls to every guy. Leo started the night with a dinner in a private room and then joined the party around midnight.

“Danny A, who hosted, would get on the microphone and announce who placed the champagne order and for how much, .?.?. then a train of 100 bottles would come out with sparklers and girls dressed in burlesque [outfits]. Kola Aluko may have spent up to $1.5 million in one night.” Danny A is the guy who famously fell afoul of George Clooney by “talking [bleep]” during a basketball game while on Leo’s team.

New York Daily News - first mention that Scorsese was at th b-day party

LEO’S A-LIST B-DAY

It was the kind of birthday bash one would expect from “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Leonardo DiCaprio celebrated turning 39 by taking over Tao Downtown on Sunday for a party attended by half of Hollywood. The star held a private dinner for 100 friends and relatives, including his mom and Victoria’s Secret model girlfriend Toni Garrn, along with Martin Scorsese, Benicio del Toro, Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Ed Norton, Tobey Maguire and money man Ron Burkle. The action then moved to the Chelsea hotspot’s lounge, where Kanye West delivered a surprise performance, watched over by his baby mama Kim Kardashian. “It was camera-phone crazy,” says our spywitness. “Orlando Bloom was dancing up a storm and rapping to Kanye’s songs while Leo was working the room like a pro. Then Q-Tip came on and rocked it.” A charity auction featuring two bottles of Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 1921 helped raise over $3 million for charities supported by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.
