A popular model, natasha barnard, tweeted about leos Save Tigers Now Effort :)

Natasha Barnard @Tash_TashB

Join Leonardo DiCaprio and WWF to Save Tigers Now. http://fb.me/217dFSvkI

This is mainly an article about type of film that is used for movies, but there is a mention by Scorsese's long time Oscar winning editor Thelma Schoonmaker about Wolf , and I'm just posting that portion.

It seems like our Leo will be in NY with his Jordan Belfort 'look' by 2nd week in August

I will ,also, post link , so if you want to read entire article :)

Schoonmaker also stated some other tidbits about The Wolf of Wall Street in the panel. She said principal photography begins in the second week of August and says that the film will be “pretty wild”.

The Wolf of Wall Street will star Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Kyle Chandler and Jon Bernthal, it is due to hit cinemas sometime next year.

I meant Ariel winter :) There were tweets of leo hanging out with the kids from modern family, right? I think it looks like Ariel :)

Thanks for the info Wolf will get its start in the 2nd week of August Ox!

Kat

Okay , now I know who you mean, yes , I agree it looks like her .

I can't wait to see Leo's Jordan Belfort look, or should I say I can wait to see Leo in those designer suits /bathing suits, etc :)

Plus, with the NY paps, I think we'll get at least some pix of him on the set, plus, candids when he is not filming , unlike, our recent Bermuda Triangle/no pix on set zone /few candids during the Django film shoot :p

Titanic box office versus Avengers

The Avengers to surpass Titanic movie box office. Some time today, James Cameron’s Titanic, the blockbuster parable about romance in time of global warming (and its dire consequences), is going to be surpassed at the domestic box office by none other than a bunch of Marvel superheroes donning Mardi Gras costumes. Step aside, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet (and Gloria Stuart, too)!

Directed by Joss Whedon, and starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk, Jeremy Renner and Hawkeye, and Tom Hiddleston as (the villainous) Loki, Disney / Marvel’s The Avengers movie is about to surpass Titanic‘s original box-office take in the US/Canada.

Box office: The Avengers vs Titanic movie

As of Tuesday, June 26, The Avengers‘ domestic box-office total stood at $600.37m. Titanic‘s original cume was $600.78m. Considering that The Avengers has been earning close to $1m per day, it’s just about impossible for the Marvel actioner not to surpass Titanic today.

Of course, if Titanic‘s rerelease is factored in, James Cameron’s iceberg movie remains well ahead of The Avengers. The 1997 Best Picture Oscar winner’s current domestic total is $658.67m. It’s unlikely that The Avengers will reach that far.

If inflation is factored in as well, then Titanic — in terms of ticket sales — remain eons ahead of The Avengers: $1.074 billion versus The Avengers‘ $600.37m. And finally, if 3D and IMAX surcharges are taken into account, then The Avengers falls even further behind. In fact, Titanic likely sold nearly twice as many tickets as The Avengers — even without taking Titanic 3D‘s $57.88m into account.

I'm hoping the Wolf film shoot will be a great source of pix for us fans , of course, I thought Django would be ,too, and we know how that turned out :p

Why they compare The Avengers with Titanic?? I thought Avatar had overtaken Titanic as the highest grossing movie?? :dontgetit:

Thanks for the article Oxford :flower:

thanks for the scans PinkCouture.

princess: If I'am not mistaken I heard Titanic is in first place again on box office thanks to 3d version. But if I'am wrong I apologize. :idk:

Leo covers up

Leonardo DiCaprio took going incognito to the next level Saturday. The “Django Unchained” star has been spotted around town in a baseball cap and full beard. But, after seeing “Sleep No More” in Chelsea, where audience members wear masks to watch the interactive play, Leo kept on the mask to party afterward. “The Manderley [bar] is the only spot where guests take off their masks to socialize and have a drink after,” a spy said. “But Leo chose to hang out and keep his on the entire time.

Thank you Pink

Thanks for NY Post article that lets us know that Leo is indeed now back in NY :)

It ,also, shows the LAX /Leo tweets were legit, whereas the tweet that Leo was in Malibu Tuesday night was false.

I've read articles /heard people on talk shows talk about going to see Sleep No More play where you walk around with the general audience going from room to room.

I'll admit if I had been an audience member and knew it was Leo behind the mask, I, for sure, would have just hung out in whatever room he was hanging out in :p

As to Avengers/Titanic , I'm just glad that the writer took the time to point out that when you factor in 3D/IMAX prices/ inflation, that Avengers has not sold anywhere the same amount of tickets in US as Titanic did rather than just coming up with statements like "Avengers crush Jack Dawson" or "Superheroes Sink Titanic" :p

Apparently people in New Zealand love Leo's movies

A list of the most popular movies and TV series that New Zealanders like to watch has been revealed.

Martin Scorsese's 2006 thriller The Departed topped the list of most wanted movies, with Blood Diamond a runner-up.

This makes Leonardo DiCaprio, who stars in both films, the most in demand actor.

Kiwis also demonstrated huge demand for New Zealand's own Sione's Wedding which came in at number ten.

Missing from the top tier was New Zealand's biggest grossing movie of all time, Boy.

Babel and The Devil Wears Prada were also hot property

.

But a surprise showing in New Zealand's most wanted movies was the 2006 drama based on the regime of brutal Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, The Last King of Scotland.

It leapt in at number five, due to exceptionally strong demand in Otago and Wellington.

Demand for TV shows outstripped that for movies in many regions and the TV mini-series Band of Brothers was the number one TV title requested.

There has also been a surge of interest in HBO series such as Game of Thrones, The Wire and True Blood.

Another article about Wolf/Marty/ change in type of film used , it ,also, has small mention of Wolf

Having read the script, the movie will consist of a lot of voice over narration from Leo/Jordan, ( which is how the story is told in the book ) ,so I understand her comment about strong narration

Production on The Wolf of Wall Street starts in August. It will be adapted from the book covering banking fraud in the late 1990s. Schoonmaker said: “It’s going to be pretty wild. Very, very wild. Very quick with a strong narration.”
