May 23, 201212 yr ohhh my God I loved this trailer it looks fantastic, and so different than the movie from the 70's ( it is so boring that made me think: how the hell this people is gonna change this awful story?) but it's great
May 23, 201212 yr ox: Ah nice, they mentioned that scene on the article. When I saw the scene I immediatelly remembered reading that part on the book. I love his smile on the scene.
May 23, 201212 yr Thanks for the links to the trailer.Sometimes the music they use in the trailer is not the one used in the movie so it's possible the actual soundtrack is different.I hope the movie doesn't have too much voice-overs from Tobey Maguire - like the guy a lot but not particularly fond of his voice.
May 23, 201212 yr to anyone worrying about the music used in the trailer, rest assured99.9% of the time, the music in film trailers is never used during the actual filmbut anyways, flawless gatsby trailer asidei hope we see a django trailer soon
May 23, 201212 yr neontiger, It was a bit weird the music at the beggining, but I think you right, that music is probably just for the trailer. But the other music Love is Blindness should totally be on the movie, seems to fit so much. In fact, I can't stop watching the trailer, it's flawless really.
May 23, 201212 yr Posey: Tobey plays Nick the narrator of the whole story, so I guess, yes, we will hear his voice a lot.

May 23, 201212 yr Yay, thanks for the trailer Ox It looks different from the book already, but cute Let's hope the movie-Gatsby will be a little different from the trailer-one too
May 23, 201212 yr I do not love Luhrmann's projection of the Great Gatsby but Leo looks WAYYYYYYY too good in it!!! Personally, I was so anxious to see what Baz would do with the story, and ah I don't like the trailer. Here's to hoping the movie will be better! But 'no church in the wild' ?! as the trailer song for the great gatsby? Leo always kills me in a suit. sigh.
May 23, 201212 yr I`m loved this trailer...I hated Daisy when i looked this book..but this is social cruel.we have to face the brutal truth.I want to see Django trailer.......7min.....
May 23, 201212 yr hmm I'm kind of underwhelmed? Visually, it looks gorgeous. I love the vibrant colors, but some of the cgi looks really bad? the city at the beginning seems so obviously fake lol however, they still have a lot of time in post-production to fix up the cgi. As for Leo.. hmm I love him but I wish he played it a little more subtle? I always pictured Gatsby to be more suave and less intense. I guess it doesn't help that he has Luhrmann guiding him and Baz loves theatrics/going over-the-top. I mean.. I was getting shutter island vibes from Leo's acting in some of the scenes lol oh well I guess I'll wait for the movie to come out before judging. It's just so hard not to judge because it's such a well known novel.
May 23, 201212 yr Finally !!!! the trailer !!! ...... I definitely adore the clothing Throw-catch part ,.its delightful and facete( ? IDK if i use the right word ) and of course the intimate part between leo and carey. just so sweet ! Thanks girls for all the great great suff !! luv u guys ~~ Christmas , just can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 23, 201212 yr I was in awe watching it on ET last night and I actually liked how they used modern music in the trailer....kinda cool if you ask me Damn leo looked GOOD! I cannot wait. Visually it looks stunning, the acting seems great, and it seems very different than the first adaptation. I like it
May 23, 201212 yr Oh and also after seeing the full trailer, I now believe the one kissing daisys neck was leo
May 23, 201212 yr Barilace Thanks for gif and your hilarious comment Trailer music While I agree that trailer music is not always part of movie soundtrack, however, Baz did use a modern sound track for R&J , and it worked . I remember the opening scene/music of R&J came as a shock to me and others , but to me .that's what Baz is all about, he wants to shake things up; make you see something you thought you knew so well in a new light . That Gatsby is not a story of the 1920's ; it is a story that rings true for every generation be it 1920 or 2012. Leo as Gatsby Personally I love the intensity we see from Leo/Gatsby in the trailer. Such as the first scene alone with Daisy It's a moment he has worked and waited for his whole life for , and we can feel his long pent up passion in his eyes /voice .. At same time, like the modern day Don Draper of Mad Men, it is only natural that we feel Gatsby's tension when we have scenes with others who threaten to destroy the illusion that Gatsby has created for himself and most importantly Daisy. After years of waiting Gatsby has come to claim the woman he has loved all his life , and he is taking no prisoners. I would expect nothing less of a man they called the Great Gatsby From USA Today, I can see this Lara Spencer , and I felt the same thing Hot on the Web right now: The new trailer for The Great Gatsby. It's set in the 1920, of course, when, as the trailer says, the morals were loose and liquor flowed freely. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, is based on the classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald and directed by Baz Luhrmann. It's set for release this Christmas. Good Morning America anchor Lara Spencer this morning said the "sizzling chemistry" and "wow, the sexual energy" between DiCaprio and Mulligan is "palpable." Aside from the look of the film and Leo in the starring role, what's causing buzz is the music that accompanies the period look in the trailer is very contemporary - Kanye West's and Jay-Z's No Church in the Wild.
