I didn't think it would be rated R either but if they use Fu#k more than a few times then that alone constitutes an R rating. Or possibly due to drug use, nudity and more intense violence than in your tyipical pg 13 movie... Still don't see this being super hardcore or anything.

Rated R? Variety is a very reliable, so I guess its true! Hmmmmm I guess maybe its a little more adult than we thought. Milk, the other movie by screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, was also rated R! And it was also about a gay man! So maybe there is alot of cussing and maybe the kissing scene with Leo and Armie is very steamy! lollll

I guess its no big deal though. I like R rated movies!

Also sick: R also means that no one under 17 can get into the movie, that is of course if you go with a parent/guardian whos over 17! But I've snuck into a few R rated movies a few times

Also I'd think Hoover was rated r probably due to sexuality and or violence. I'd bet armie and Leo have more than just a kissing scene, there probably are sex scenes possibly.

And about the gay "issue." I don't think Leo could give two shits about being called gay or playing a gay character. He's never been one who seems to feel the need to prove anything at all to the public. I think he just finds j Edgar fascinating due to the history regarding Hoover (which is always interesting to listen to on the history channel so I was mega enthusiastic about Leo taking this part) and because as Leo always says he's a history buff.

U know what bugs the hell out of me? When people say, I wish Leo never grew old or I love the young Leo DiCaprio - he was hot! I mean, it's like some people think he could look like he was when he was in his 20s if he wanted to. I mean, even if he wanted to, why would people want him to stay the same?And I don't get hen people say he is unattractive / old now//Hello?!?!? As compared to who? HE still looks gorgeous compared to most people around his age. And also, I LOVE the fact that Leo admits he hates to work out and that it is not a priority to him to be thought of as the "hunk" . But the important thing is, when a role calls for him to look a certain way, he is so dedicated, he works out and looks great for the part - he did that for The Departed and Blood Diamond and look how he was able to change his look from GONY to CMIYC and even change his looks within a movie like in CMIYC.

Sure he dresses down and doesn't care about fashion sense when he is not working/ I guess that's part of the appeal for me too. I hate guys who are so into their looks and conceited.

Leo has really great symmetrical features - there was an actual article that appeared in a scientific journal about what makes people see a person as attractive and Leo was one of the examples of the kind of face most people find handsome and good looking.

As far as the gay rumors, I can understand why some people talk about that because Leo does have close male friends and travels with them and spends time with them. But again, that's one of the things I love about Leo - that he doesn't stop hanging with his close friends so people won't think he is gay or whatever - he doesn't let what others think influence things like friendship and how he enjoys his life. And being close to his mom and dad, that's another trait I really love about him. HE doesn't let talk about him being a momma's boy change how he acts - he loves her so he wants to have her involved in his life. It's the same with his dad but of course people don't focus on his close relationship with his dad.

Me too. I think a lot of the people making those comments are very young themselves (as in teenagers who never got to experience the whole Titanic Leo-mania in real time and wish they had), and some of the older ones want to relive their teen years. I love all his looks. As Kate said, "He's a man now!"

I love fashion. If a person loves clothes and is comfortable dressing up, more power to them. I love Leo's style because it's him, and he's not trying to be anyone other than himself.

He's obviously confident and secure in his friendships, too, and doesn't let the uninformed opinions of total strangers dictate who he hangs out with or how he lives. Women get stereotyped as manipulative and catty, but rumors about men don't work unless they can make them gay, and there is no Father equivalent of the Oedipal complex, so George gets let off the hook.

Blind items : IMO, those are so stupid especially that one posted cuz if it actually happened, then why would it be a blind item; why not report it with the real person's name. It's not like they would get sued for libel or anything,LOL. Ha, I guess some people LOVE to read blind items and play these guessing games, even though most of them are imaginary

Without the "This is SO scandalous we can't give you the names because we might get sued!" drama, they're just another person making up stories based on rumors and innuendo.

Someone tweeted last week he was in a Starbucks in Portland at the same location. There's either an incredible Leo lookalike in Portland, he's able to travel back and forth incredibly quick (go go Fisker Karma! ), or he's like Bigfoot: once spotted in one location, everyone claims to have seen him there. I'm generally more suspicious of sightings outside his CA or NY stomping grounds, unless he's on location or vacation.

According to Box office mojo.... J Edgar is getting an R rating due to brief strong language. That doesn't seem enough to warrant an R rating since it's brief but it still must have went over the limit for swear words <_< However, like you said Joujou its probably also due to the gay innuendo in addition to the 4 or so swear words.
