Mark Delaney, Villa right-back and one of football's nice guys has sadly had to retire at aged 31. He hadn't played for a year so it was to be expected but it is nevertheless a sad day, especially as he had given us some eight years service.

On a brighter note, Spurs are bottom of the table. Proof that while life can often be unfair, it can also provide wonderful surprises.

Truer words have never been spoken.

and Manyoo have now tied twice

I can't believe it. :( Things were looking sooo good as well...but like you said, the away goal could end up being vital for Besiktas.

Fener's 1-0 victory was good news too.

ed, congrats to Liverpool for the away goal too. ;)

Thank you! I take back everything bad I said about Voronin *looks for someone else to pick on...Babel* :shifty: The bad news is Gerrard is injured  and now we have to play without our captain against Chelsea. I don't even care if it is at Anfield, this is bad news :|

In other news, Zizou has proved his greatness as Ronaldo attempted to emulate his glorious headbutt whilst playing against Pompey. New found respect for Ronaldo

Did anyone see Messi's goal vs Bayern?

You mean Cristiano Ronaldo right?

Oh yes, I watched the game. That goal was great!

Anyway, I had said that Voronin will be nice for Liverpool right? His goal was great also!

Arsenal won 2-0 at Prague, but I didn't see the goals. Anyway, the good news is Hleb scored once again(and that, once again in 90th minute)

Bouazizi, Gala won 2-1 in Croatia, and now we can say - they are in the group stages!

Volkan scored once again from the freekick! ;)

And just saw the calendar of this week! There are great games!

ManU - Sven City  (credit to SS)

Liverpool - Chelsea

Inter - Roma (Italin Super Cup)

Real Madrid - Sevilla (Spanish Super Cup, 2nd leg)

Werder - Bayern

... just to mention some!

hey ed, Benitez says Gerrard may well be fit enough to face Chelsea....but not play for England! :ninja:

good news ehhh. :D

Did you see the Gala game? I had to follow it online but it seems like we played pretty poorly. :(

However it was a very under-strength team, no Lincoln, Linderoth or Arda. And yeah it looks like Volkan is the new master of free kicks! :shifty:

Great news about Arsenal too!

Yes, I can track the games here on the cable! And I guess the game was on Croatian HRT2 channel, if you have the satellite(but not 100% sure was it coded or not)!

Anyway, they played nice. They had oppurtunities to make it 3 or 4, but lack of nice finishing!

The only dissapointment was Fener! There was a 20 minute spit, the ball was played in the Feners half!

BTW, which teams do you support in England, Italy and Spain????

Are you another gunners fan :woot: ??? :D

Messi is loco :chicken: He's. just. too. good. :ninja:

I take back everything I've said about Voronin. He has been our best buy...crazy :|

good news ehhh. :D

He suffered a hairline fracture of the toe against Toulouse, so we're risking him against Chelsea but he'll definitely have to heal it afterwards :/

The one positive that I take from the return of Sven to these isles is the reappearance in the modern lexicon of one of my favourite tabloid phrases: Svensational.

Who will win the Mancunian derby? :|

Who will win the Mancunian derby? :|

I hope for City, but draw won't be bad also!!!

0-0 won't be a surprise for me!

How bad are Newcastle? We shoulda and coulda whooped dem boys, they can't keep possession to save their lives. Still, we're off the mark and we've got Fulham at home next.

Spurs beat Derby. I guess that means they're title contenders again. 4-0 against Derby, whoopdefrickin'doo.

Losing 3-1 to Duisburg was hurtful. But 4-1 to Schalke. Schalke! Schalke! I can't articulate my disappointment. Awful. The pits. I hate the Bundesliga season already. Bayern winning 4-0 at Bremen? What's the point?

ManU lost

Arsenal is winning 1-0 by the halftime! :D

The Geordies seem to be sacrificing Martins to give playing time to Owen.

Oh well, there's always next year for NUFC.

They shoved Martins out on the wing, which didn't work. Viduka looked fat and disinterested yet still received the traditional standing ovation from the "Toon Army". Owen came on and had maybe two touches of the ball. They'll finish 12th and the rest of the world will carry on as it ever did.

Ah I don't have Turkish TV at home, but I have satellite (Sky) so I can watch the Premiership & La Liga.

In England I support Arsenal, in Italy Juve (I've always had a soft spot for Inter too), and Barcelona in Spain. :)

How about you?

Btw, great news so far today - Arsenal still 1-0 up  , and Sven's little workers beat United. :|
