@kellybsblover especially when you consider between Critters 3 and TBL/WEEG are only 2 years. That's an impressively short time for his development of acting skills. I mean yeah the script and everything of Critters 3 was probably pretty low but it's still a remarkable change of his skills for not only the better but oscar level better at such a young age.- Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)
So I made it through Leos 90s decade and I can finally make a proper list of movies I liked from this era and which not. đ 1) Titanic (extended + theatrical cut; can't decide which one is better. I think some of the deleted scenes should be in the movie and if Cameron can release a fuckin 9 hours cut of that shitty Avatar no one ask for I don't see why he can't do the same with Titanic BUT WHATEVER) 2) Romeo & Juliet (this movie has no doubts the best soundtrack ever; it's also my favorite of all Romeo & Juliet movies - haven't watched all of them but many including the 1968 one @YouNoMe) 3) What's Eating GG (probably Leos best performance in this decade, also Leos most adorable, heartwarming movie; love Becky great female written character; actually this movie is filled with great female characters) 4) Marvins Room (this movie is underrated; I LOVE the dynamic between the characters of Leo, Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep, again some well written female characters) 5) The Man In The Iron Mask (cheesy but love it, still one of my most watched Leo movies and probably his only "feel good" movie next to WEGG) 6) The Quick & The Dead (see my recent review) 7) The Basketball Diaries (even though Mark Wahlberg is one of the worst actors ever and I almost ended up putting this one on the other list Leos performance is too strong plus the story/message isn't the worst unlike TBL) 8 )This Boy's Life (very impressive performance by Leo especially compared to Critters 3; I liked the friendship of Toby and Arthur the most and I was glad Toby and his mother could escape this awful man but afterall Toby isn't a very likable character too; many of his actions seems very questionable to me and I don't know if the "he was young and dumb" answer is satisfying me) đ 1) Don's Plum (by far Leos worst movie if you even can call it a movie because damn the quality here is at the lowest possible point đ) 2) Total Eclipse (awful I only liked the ending which means the maybe last 15 minutes) 3) The Foot Shooting Party (weird, terrible hair extensions, Leo is highly miscast and looks like a skinny 12 years old girl, also why Vietnam????) 4) Celebrity (boring overall but the parts with Leo are actually good) 5) Critters 3 (this is actually the only one I would rewatch because yes it is bad but also kinda entertaining and at least funny) May the 00 decade as successful as this one (already rewatched "The Beach")- Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)
Tarantino movie update Quentin Tarantino Confirms Next Film is âThe Movie Critic,â Set in 1977 and Has Nothing to Do With Pauline Kael Quentin Tarantino was in Paris this evening promoting his book âCinema Speculation,â which, Iâm hearing, inspired him to write his next film. In a Q&A with Thierry Fremaux, Tarantino sought to clear the air about his upcoming new film. He confirmed that its title is indeed âThe Movie Critic,â but that it has nothing to do with Pauline Kael. Tarantino went on to add that he just recently completed the screenplay and that the story is set in 1977. Also, the main character is not a movie critic, according to him. Heâs aiming for a fall shoot in Los Angeles. The event took place at the Grand Rex theater in Paris. No cellphones were allowed in the room, so I doubt any video footage will emerge. FrĂ©maux being FrĂ©maux, he couldnât resist telling Tarantino to bring âThe Movie Criticâ to Cannes 2025. Source Didn't quite realize the ones with Leo were also the most successful movies #power of leo I'm really curious if KOTFM is capable to pull off such numbers.- Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)
According to pagesix Leo wasn't only in a hot daddy but very good mood đ Leonardo DiCaprio hits luxe car party Leonardo DiCaprio and the âWhite Lotusâ actress Simona Tabasco were among the many stars celebrating Polestarâs newest luxury electric SUV at The Shed in New York City on Tuesday night. âLeo stayed for quite a while to chat with party guests, enjoy the music and a drink,â an insider exclusively tells Page Six on Wednesday. âHe certainly wasnât as under the radar as much as he usually is, as he was without his typical baseball cap and sunglasses.â Weâre told the environmental activist, 48, was seen mingling with Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath, 59, and they even posed for photos together. âLeo wasnât with a crazy big entourage [and] was doing a lot of mingling with the Polestar team and checking out the car,â the source says. DiCaprio, an investor in the electric car company, was âdefinitely enjoyingâ himself and âfull of smiles,â the source says. Source- Camila Morrone
Camila Morrone on That Shocking âDaisy Jones & The Sixâ Finale We caught up with Camila Morrone to talk about the making of the hit Prime Video series and what Daisy Jones & The Six gets right about love Daisy Jones & The Six is a love story. But maybe not the one youâre thinking of. Amazon Primeâs newest series, based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & The Six fixates on fictional rock band The Six and their path to stardom. Led by lead singer Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin), the group hits on magic when they join forces with wild child singer Daisy Jones (Riley Keough). Billy is a recovering alcoholic and married father of one and Daisy a pill-obsessed rocker who lives at a hotel and parties longer than she sleeps. What could go wrong? But underneath the will-they-wonât-they tension of the series and its main characters, is another story: that of Billyâs wife Camila Dunne. Played by Camila Morrone, Camila is the honorary sixth member of the group, but is often left home alone with the baby. In each episode, she encourages Billy to continue his music and follow his dreams, but is cheated on, lied to, and disrespected at every turn. In a lesser show, Camila could have been a wallflower easily forgotten given the sexy chemistry of the ill-fated leads. But with wisdom and ease, Morrone gives a defining performance, imbuing her character with an undeniable spark. The former model had only been in two indie films before she was cast in Daisy Jones. But she tells Rolling Stone that she was only interested in Camila because of the agency the writers were able to give her. âI just wanted to give her strength and power. I wanted her to be strong and spicy and fight back and be flexible, but also to have really strong boundaries. There were some great scenes that kind of gave her that flair and that edge,â Morrone says. âSheâs nobodyâs fool. I was happy that that was in there because if not, it wouldnât have been a character I was interested in playing.â Rolling Stone caught up with Camila Morrone to talk the Daisy Jones & The Six finale, how she became Camila, her favorite Taylor Jenkins Reid books, and much more. What attracted you to Daisy Jones as a project? Did your approach to the role change at all during filming? It came to me in 2019, as you know, just like any other audition does, through my agents. I had heard about the book. I had never done a book adaptation. I had never been a part of that. So that sounded really enticing to me. Also, being a book that has such an incredible fan base already â when I signed on the book was a bestseller, so I knew that there was something there before I even got down to reading the book. Then of course, I dove into the book and the rest was history. I fell in love with the style of writing that Taylor Jenkins Reid has. Initially I was very interested in Daisy Jones because sheâs a flashier character and you know, the drugs, sex, and rock and roll, and singing and playing guitar. And then I started to be very interested in Camila because she was less flashy, but I believe equally soulful and important to the storyline. The show does a great job of really showing Camilaâs agency as her own person. How and where do you think she fits in with the band? What I think I saw in Camila is a woman whoâs incredibly deep and powerful. Sheâs the backbone in a lot of ways. She is the driving force creating that love and stability and home life and encouragement and support for Billy through everything. He would kind of crumble without her. And everyone seems to turn to Camila at some point in the story for guidance. What was important for you to get across in your performance as Camila? I didnât want her to be the âwife of a rock starâ or âhousewife whoâs raising the kid.â Whatâs really beautiful about Camila is that sheâs willing to accept things that are very painful in love and relationships and marriage. Camila has this incredible birdâs-eye view of understanding humans and their mistakes. Just how complicated we all are and how important forgiveness is when you really believe in someone. While the story is inspired by the Taylor Jenkins Reid book, it takes some big and unexpected swings. One is almost explicitly showing that Camila has her own affair with Billyâs bandmate Eddie. Was that nerve-racking for you to do such a big shift when people are devoted to the specific plot points in this book? People are devoted to the book. And I am too in a lot of ways. So, I was initially against it. When I read it in the script, I called the writer and I said, âAre you sure you want Camila to do this? Because itâs going to make her unlikable.â We got into talking about it and I think that it ends up being entirely justified because it is not out of revenge. It is not for attention. It underlines really how important it is to feel seen and desired and what it feels like to be pushed aside and not taken care of emotionally or physically. Thatâs why Iâm really proud of the decision to do what was best for her in that moment. While viewers who hadnât read the book just found out, you knew the whole time that the person conducting the interview was your characterâs daughter. You also knew that at the end of the series, itâs revealed that Camila has died. How did you approach your performances for the final episode, especially this idea that people were gonna have to see Camila without her physical strength anymore? We can only put up with so much, as women, as wives, as partners. And I think that that gives Camila humanity, because otherwise sheâs this unattainable, perfect goddess-like wife, and sheâs not. Sheâs human. She is deeply flawed and insecure and afraid, she just contains those emotions really well and sheâs quite mature about the way that she handles them. In the season finale, you see a woman come to her breaking point. And even in her breaking point, to know Daisy is what Billy might need next? What a woman! To be able to go, âMaybe I canât make this person happy anymore.ââ At the end of the day, it takes real love. I donât even know if I can look at my life and say I could have that kind of maturity in that situation. While Daisy Jones isnât a real person, thereâs definitely an aspect of true life thatâs imbued in the story. And you and some of the cast are incredibly famous in your own way. Do you feel like this has put a lot of scrutiny on your own private life? For instance, youâve had very famous relationships, like with actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Did that ever feel like pressure? I just focus on the work. To me, whatâs most important is delivering in the job that I do. Iâve been really lucky to get to work. Itâs my priority in life and itâs the thing that I love the very most on Earth, and itâs my passion. Iâm nowhere near where I want to be as an actor, but projects like this allow me to have some visibility and explore my art. I just feel really lucky that Iâm able to do the thing that makes me the very happiest on earth. From script to filming to final project, creating Daisy Jones & The Six has been a real journey. The production was constantly delayed by COVID-19, which meant the series has been up in the air. Has all of the extra time strengthened your bond to the series and your castmembers? Were you nervous about the reception? When youâre in it and youâre filming, you canât think about, âIs this going to be good?â You have an essence of the character but then you have to be present for your fellow actors and be in the moment. Youâve created this character for all these months that when you get there on the day, you just have to let it go and hope that this character is living somewhere within you. But all that time definitely strengthened our relationships. When we were on hold for two years, we were always waiting for the phone call saying, âYou know what? We spent too much money and itâs just not going to happen.â So, now the showâs out and now itâs the worldâs. And I guess that was just our intention and our objective from the very beginning. Also, Iâm not sure how Joaquin Phoenix fits into all of this. I thought the lead role was between him or DiCaprio, and not both of them starring in the film. Donât get me wrong, a project with DiCaprio and Phoenix together is cinematic nirvana. Even before Sneiderâs scoop, Daniel RPK has reported that the movie is actually about a young girl training in martial arts with DiCaprio playing her mentor. Further, Daniel adds that, alongside Hall and Phoenix, Rachael Taylor and Viggo Mortensen were also in talks for the film. PTA has already tackled a Thomas Pynchon novel, 2014âs âInherent Vice.â That turned out to be the most polarizing movie of his career. Pynchon movie adaptations are very risky, his way of writing and telling a story is a beast of its own. All we know so far is that this latest PTA project will be shot in July. Of course, things could change rapidly, but they also seem to be moving rapidly. Source Don't know if this means anything but Phoenix next movie project is a western from director Ari Aster. https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2023/3/ari-asters-next-film-will-be-a-western-starring-joaquin-phoenix Gosh compared to Leo Phoenix is working his ass off LOL- Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)

Cannes seems more and more likely also that KOTFM will run in competition. Paramount Sets French Theatrical Release For âKillers Of The Flower Moonâ; Move Ties Film Into 17-Month, Cinema-To-Streamer Window Paramount will give Martin Scorseseâs Killers Of The Flower Moon a theatrical release in France from October 18, Deadline has confirmed, in a move that will make the film subject to the countryâs strict windowing rules. Paramount Pictures France revealed the local theatrical date on Tuesday in an updated line-up posted on its website and Deadline has confirmed the film will get a normal release via the distributor and then go directly to Apple TV+. Apple Orginal Films announced Monday that Killers Of The Flower Moon will be released exclusively in theaters worldwide in partnership with Paramount Pictures, kicking off on a limited basis from October 6, to go wide from October 20, ahead of streaming on Apple TV+. There were questions as to whether the film would show in cinemas in France, where current media chronology laws stipulate a 17-month window between a filmâs theatrical launch and its streaming release for most global platforms, including Apple TV+. Netflix has negotiated a 15-month window by pledging extra investment for local feature films and signing an accord with the local film and TV guilds. Other streamers such as Apple TV+, Amazon and Disney+ have yet to go down that route. Scorsese has a big following in cinephile France but his Netflix-backed The Irishman only received two preview screenings in France â at Cannes Delegate General Thierry FrĂ©mauxâs LumiĂšre Festival in Lyon and the French cinematheque in Paris â ahead of its release via streaming in November 2019. This was in contrast to the U.S. and the UK where the film was given limited releases. Expectations remain high that Killers Of The Flower Moon, about the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation in 1920s Oklahoma, will world premiere at Cannes in May. Confirmation of the French theatrical release opens the door for Killers Of The Flower Moon to play in Competition, if indeed, the film has been made available to Cannes, and the festival and Scorsese want to go down that route. Under Cannes rules, which are in step with the French windowing laws, only films guaranteed a theatrical release in France can compete for the festivalâs coveted Palme dâOr, a stipulation that has kept Netflix and its top titles away from the Croisette in recent years. Seems like KOTFM might compete for the Palme d'Or in Cannes. Martin Scorseseâs âKillers of the Flower Moonâ Sets October 6th Release Date As previously mentioned, Martin Scorseseâs âKillers of the Flower Moonâ will premiere at Cannes then get rolled out in the fall. Variety has confirmed that fall date to be October 6th in limited release and wide on October 20th. There is currently no date for a streaming bow on Apple TV. Judging by that date, Iâm purely speculating here that âKillersâ will have its North American premiere at the New York Film Festival, which begins in the first week of October. Cannes boss Thierry Fremaux basically confirmed the appearance of Scorseseâs film at Cannes this afternoon: Yes, weâre in discussions. For 2023, the important thing is to make sure that Martin Scorsese attends with his new film which is an important work. The last time he came with a film was for âAfter Hoursâ in 1986! Can âKillers of the Flower Moonâ compete for the Palme dâOr? I was skeptical until just a few days ago when I heard from a French journalist who told me that it wouldnât be out of the realm of possibilities. Apple no doubt wants a Palme dâOr along with their Oscars, for sheer legitimacyâs sake. Apple also seems to be more flexible in adhering to French laws in regards to theatrical and streaming. I say, who knows! Historically, Apple original movies have appeared exclusively on the streaming service or have been released in a small number of theaters. This mindset seems to have changed. A Bloomberg report from last week claimed that Apple planned to spend $1 billion a year to produce movies that would be released in theaters. Itâs all part of an effort to raise their profile in Hollywood. Source- Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)
