Also has Daniela Pestova, Yamila Diaz, and I believe Carmen Dell'Orefice (credited as just Carmen). ph by Pamela Hansen, Herb Ritts, Russell James, Antoine Verglas, Francois Nars, Ellen von Unwerth. The weird thing about that book, at least our copy, was that the text refers to an Appendix section that doesn't exist. Thanks Miss! That's a nice story too. The last time this happened, it was a sad story: the model had died. It was actually how we found out she was in the news, when 100% of our search traffic was for her.

Does Vendela have a new TV show or is she dating someone famous or something? We can't figure out why, but for the last two days, our search traffic for Vendela has been EXTREME. There was so much traffic for Vendela today that the system flagged it. Does anyone know a reason why there would be so many people interested in her right now?

I see the similarity, but I agree with nico_blue, and I also don't think it's Kelly Emberg. One thing you might do is look for other "De Weese Designs" ads. Sometimes, they will have the same model in a different pose, and you can make a better judgement from that pose.

She was about 16 then. Is it just me, or does it seem like the "sexier" shots that showed off her body etc. appear more in non-US magazines rather than US ones, when she was that age? It's true in general, and not just related to the model's age. The European fashion mags tend to feature "sexier" concepts (or more nudity), even in their advertising. If you look back a few pages in this thread, I think there's a link to YouTube for a French TV commercial with Niki, where she twirls around in a somewhat short white skirt. I don't see that commercial being used for the US market, even for the same product.

Swimsuits: Julie is in all the Elite Model Agency calendars from 1988-1990 (Cindy Crawford cover, Stephanie Seymour cover, Estelle Hallyday cover, respectively). All turn up on eBay. I believe there is a 1989 and a 1990 on right now. Julie is also the cover for the very rare Jacques Malignon Made In New York 1984 calendar (also with Kelly Emberg, Joan Severance, Carrie Nygren, a quite young Kathy Ireland, Iman, and so on). Other: I think this book is well known, but if you don't know it: Julie is on the cover of Larry Goldman's fantastic book, Becoming a Professional Model, 1986. She's also shown also inside. Try here for cite and more info. There are some specialty dealers who try to sell the book for $$$, but don't bite. It's sometimes a 1-cent'er (1¢) at Amazon.

Yes, she's aged (or aging) gracefully. Beri is one of the models that I think Sports Illustrated did not really do justice to. The shoot (photographed by Robert Erdmann) isn't very special or memorable, and she's only on three pages of that issue. Here. Sort of disappointing, if you like Beri. They didn't really do her justice, I think. Karen Mulder (here) is another one. Karen was literally a top model in the 90s, but like Beri, her Sports Illustrated shoot just doesn't really do her justice I think. It isn't awful, but I think it's a bit disappointing, and she's a better model than the shoot suggests. Ironically, Karen and Beri are in that same 1998 issue of SI. And it's even the same photographer that did Karen's AWESOME 1997 calendar (Andre Rau).

I've seen about two episodes of this show and she's seriously the most beautiful person in it. Is this a new season? I checked the site, and it says 'super-new episodes', but I think it's still reruns of last season? Beri is such a good model. I hope they bring her back. We saw some of the girls from Scouted (Nicole Domecus, Jillian Lieber, and Alwyn Lansing) at the Gorgeous & Green Gala, here in SF (they're repped by Stars) at the end of last year. I thought Alwyn in particular was a very, very good model. Here. Wish they had come with Beri.

Yes. I liked the comment, "You look like models." You still hear that. Verbatim. That's 25 years ago, and what struck me was how little backstage/pre-show has changed since then. Change the models, the products the stylists were using, and the looks, and that could have been video from pre-show from this year. Everything looks the same. The only major difference now: As you looked around the room, all the models would be using their iPhones.
