Yes, it's a great photo isn't it? Wish there were more. Yes, the year sort of throws me. With Kate and Shalom, I thought it was maybe ~'95?, as you say. But then Linda and Niki, it looks so early and '95 too late. Though '91 is probably too early, you're right. -

What I meant was, her shots were so great on her own, she didn't need to be in SI; it was like she was her own SI. Your right; most of her SI stuff isn't as good as her calendars. The girl I really thought SI did a disappointing job with was Rebecca Romijn. These SI shots of Niki are pretty good, IMO: Sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was disagreeing. Understood what you meant, just went off on a tangent (about SI). About Rebecca Romijn. I thought Glaviano's stuff (in the '96 mag issue) was good though. If you do like Rebecca, the 1996 Softkey SI calendar pack has a lot with her. She's on the box cover, and then also in the movie files. In '95, SI put her together with Angie Everhart and Walter Iooss Jr. In '96, it's Ingrid Seynhaeve and Marco Glaviano. Can try a search here. She had four calendars (at least?), in a market space competing against models like Elle Macpherson, Claudia Schiffer, Stephanie Seymour, Christy Turlington, Daniella Pestova, Kathy Ireland, etc. And then there's all the swimsuit brand calendars like Splash/Ujena, and on and on. It's a market space that doesn't (didn't) lack for competition. You don't do four swimsuit calendars if they're not successful. It's interesting you mention "SI", because I always think of her SI stuff as a bit disappointing. D'Orazio is (obviously) a good photographer, but her stuff in SI, fine but unmemorable. Her own calendars, with Renard, are much better. And that outtake is a photo from Renard.

^ Yes, first image is inside front cover. Then, months of March and July. The physical July calendar page/photo is slightly larger, uncropped. That photo also ran in the '88 mag issue, across p 92-93, with a tighter crop.

Swimsuits: Julie is also the cover for the very rare Jacques Malignon Made In New York 1984 calendar (also with Kelly Emberg, Joan Severance, Carrie Nygren, a quite young Kathy Ireland, Iman, and so on). Released with a slightly different cover again for '84.

Yasmeen is the TOC for the 1997 SISE mag issue (Tyra Banks cover, 21 Feb). Plus a supplement pic in the Mar 97 SI magazine issue, in "Letters". She is also in the 98 SI wall and desk calendars (both with Niki Taylor on the cover): 6 pages in the desk calendar. Can try a search here. She's also featured in Beauty Flash, by Stephane Marais, her shot listed as 1997. That's a fun book, but can be quite pricey in the second-hand market!

Yes, if you follow her twitter, she seems to be working and traveling quite a bit. She's also in the Galore 2014 calendar. (If you go searching for that, it features nudity.) https://twitter.com/amyhixson Not a huge fan of the Pure stuff. It's fine, but a little boring. Wish they had done a little more with it/and her.
