Here's a source for that eBay orphan: That's a cropped and flipped version of the July page in the 1983 S.I. wall calendar. eBay pictorphans! Grrr! Argh!
  9. Do you know the model in the middle? I think it might be Dionne Whittaker http://www.modelscomposites.com/getlist.ph...er&year=all

It's page 83 of the 1992 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. The other half of the picture, and the rest of her leg is on page 82. If you search here for Roshumba (in SISE), it'll show up with link. Also, almost identical pose on p 106. (Quick giveaway that's it out of SI is "Jule Campbell". )
  11. SF Chronicle has a feature about Supermodels, Then and Now: http://blog.sfgate.com/dailydish/2012/03/0...s-then-and-now/ There's a nice candid of Paulina in the series, from "the late 80s". It's the 45th frame. Trying again ... let's see if I can get a link to that frame: http://blog.sfgate.com/dailydish/wp-conten...now/paulina.jpg

Hi. It looks like it is from a magazine, but it is actually from a book: Arthur Elgort's Model's Manual. (The pages in the book are not numbered, but we have that one as p. 75.)

Did anybody from here win it? $25 was a good deal for somebody!
  17. Was anybody else following this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...=true&rt=nc Stephanie's calendar is relatively rare, but wow! $100. Wow.

... and Vogue also has about half the circ of Glamour now. Hard to say why (about Frederique). SI could have considered her, and if Elite might have (or, not) pushed her. At the time, Elite repped Stephanie, Carol, Kathy, Kara Young, Paulina, Kelly Emberg, Stacey Williams, Angie Everhart. Elite is well represented in the pages of SI at the time. They also repped Elaine Irwin, who isn't in SI. Also Carrie Nygren, Alexandra Brochen, Jill Goodacre, .... . Any of whom could have been fabulous in SI. It's very random sometimes (or seems very random) about what model gets what gig.

That's from Stephane Marais' Beauty Flash, if you didn't know. It's a particularly nice book.
  22. I think it's from 1990 Sports Illustrated by Hans Feurer and Marc Hispard Thanks. That's definitely a good suggestion. But Stephanie is actually not in the 1990 magazine. She's in an advertisement (p. 176, for the SI 1990 diary), but she isn't one of the models in 1990. She's in the 1988 + 89 and then 1991 magazines, ph Hispard and Feurer resp., but not 1990. She is in the 1990 SI calendars, the diary and the wall, but not that photo.
  23. Hi. Do you know an original source for
  24. Fun feature on NY Times, Model-Morphosis: http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/tag/model-morphosis/
  25. Hi. No it's Lisa Taylor. In Arthur Elgort's Models Manual. Yes, indeed, thank you Famamoca. I've noticed that Lisa Taylor has great resemblence with young Claudia in some pics.. Welcome! Not to turn this into a "Who looks like Claudia" thread, but do you know Laurence Vanhaeverbeke? I think she looks like Claudia in some photos. See here for example: http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?sho...t&p=2722143 Also on the first page of her thread. I occasionally see that PHOTO ad listed on eBay as Claudia. Elgort's Models Manual is a great book, by the way. It's typically available used inexpensively. That shot of Lisa Taylor driving in the Jaguar, with her hair flowing from the wind, is really a favorite. Claudia is also in the book. Some very beautiful early headshots (with short hair is one I remember in particular thinking of Schiffer + Elgort).
