General Celebrity Gossip
How strange, I distinctly remember seeing video footage of Wentworth running away with Mariah Carey, who at the time was about to get married to Wentworth's dad Eric Roberts.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
My excitement about this movie just hit rock bottom. I rate Affleck as a director and he does vaguely resemble the way Wayne usually looks in the comics, but the thought of him playing Batman is certainly not one that I'll relish. He's shown himself to be wrong for this type of role a number of times already.

Batman: Arkham
Latest trailer. Slightly inaccurate video title as it doesn't actually focus on Firefly that much, although you do get a few glimpses of what he can do. Not exactly sure why, but something about him gives me serious Metal Gear vibes.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
By today's standards, the WWII backdrop is the most interesting aspect of the Captain America story, but his revival in the sixties would have been pretty ingenious at the time. He became something of an irrelevant figure when the Nazis were no longer around to for him to kick and punch in the face, so I do consider that whole ‘man out of time’ concept to be a clever direction for him. Granted though, the stories almost always followed the same simplistic formula. This new movie does appear to be packing some emotional spectrum, and if it's done right it could be pretty effective, what with Peggy’s apparent reappearance as a much older character and his former best mate (I leave out his name as I can’t for the life of me remember if the guy in the movie was referred to as Bucky or not ) as the villain. At least, that’s what I’m rather hoping for. Time will tell but I'm cautiously optimistic.

^ At last, some new Anna Calvi in full! Pretty compelling tune (love the quick burst of epic guitar work), though it strikes me more as a good album track than a lead single. Still, something tells me there's a lot more to come.

Football
Well, credit where it's due, Fulham dominated us for the four seconds it took to take their corner. We were only on top for the remaining 94:56. Not exactly the start we were hoping for then, but a much better all-round effort than anything I saw last season, with the new signings mostly looking the part. Still plenty of room for improvement, though, and the wretched run of home games we'll now have to negotiate is a concern. Crying out for a creative midfielder to play alongside the beastly Cabral and, as has been the case since dinosaurs roamed the earth, a proper left-back. Superb win for Villa yesterday (the new away kit reminds me of battenburg - the cake not the referee), Arsenal and Arsene Wenger reaching borderline dangerous levels of self-parody at present. P.S. I love you, Simon Mignolet. P.P.S. Nice teeth, Brendan.

A semi-autobiographical role on 'Criminal Minds' as a teen pop star who commits murders and writes songs about it surely beckons now for Taylor.

I'll be seeing it too, anything with Noomi is a winner in my eyes. Tom and Gary sure do love working together.
