It's now beginning to sound like Joel Kinnaman will be the one who takes over as Flagg. Obviously in terms of star power, Kinnaman is a considerable downgrade from someone like Hardy or Gyllenhaal, but I rate him as an actor and think he's up to the task. His portrayal of Holder in the US version of 'The Killing' was terrific.

It's a bit of a sad state of affairs when Zinedine Kilbane is your most sensible analyst. Rooney wasn't impeded and his intention was quite obviously to wangle the penalty. Unfortunately, the ridiculous 'evasive action' arguments put forth by the likes of Hodgson and Neville are exactly what perpetuates the farce. Claiming that John Terry was having a stonker as PSG rained shots down on Courtois's goal was pretty comical too. Afterwards, ITV even highlighted how poor Chelsea looked at the back, with Ibrahimovic repeatedly given time and space to turn and face the defence. John Boy was nowhere to be seen for most of it.

Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler is another good call by Singer, he's a great fit for the visual design of the character. Although he'll have to go some to equal what Alan Cumming brought to the role in 'X-Men 2'. Tough to make an overall judgement on Cudmore's acting abilities as I only ever saw him in the X-Men franchise, but still, it's hard not to feel bad for the guy. Despite the limited screentime allowed for him, I thought his performances over the three films were strong enough to warrant exploring the character more in 'Deadpool'. Plus, Colossus will almost certainly be in his metallic form and covered in CGI for the majority of the running time anyway.

More casting news. Nightcrawler was always one of my favourite X-Men, I'm excited to see what they do with him in the movie. This all seems to be shaping up rather well so far.

One of my fondest hopes is for SI to stop paying their Photoshop department by the hour. In the aforementioned pic, they've made Erin look like Clu from 'Tron Legacy'.

I'll be watching Zlata with interest, she puts me in mind of a younger Daria Werbowy. Thanks for the thread, Babyblue.

It looks like they're taking the 'Star Trek Into Darkness' route with Waltz, although I'd actually prefer him to play an unknown villain. Seems a bit soon to do Blofeld, what with Mike Myers' parody still fairly fresh in the memory. They'll have to make him an absolute fiend to give themselves a chance of reclaiming the character. I didn't care for any of the Pierce Brosnan movies bar 'Goldeneye' (and even that was mostly down to Famke Janssen's turn in it) so I may be biased, but for my money Craig is easily the best Bond since Sean Connery.

You can always count on Sunderland to do a Sunderland. Defeats like the one to Bradford are such well-trodden ground for us that I wouldn't normally be too concerned, except that Gus seems to be feeling the pressure and is starting to sound somewhat erratic. It was the fans, then it was the Valley Parade pitch (granted, it resembled a ploughed field), now it's the press. Watch out ball boys - if we lose to West Brom at the weekend, it might be your turn! Also, the media's point blank refusal to call Wayne Rooney out for diving is an embarrassment. Next thing you know, they'll be moaning about the standard of officiating while failing to see the direct link between the two issues.

I was surprised when Sherwood ended up landing the Villa job, as I'd expected someone a bit more, well... not Sherwood. But as cringey as that whole 'proper football man' act can be at times, his record in the Premier League really isn't too shabby. If his ego is part of a package deal that helps him rake in some points, then so be it.

Thread cleaned. This is the Irina Shayk thread, not the bashing, baiting and model comparison thread. Agree to disagree and get things back on track or it'll be locked. Thank you for your cooperation.

In my experience, we usually reserve that section for those who are (or were) signed to one or more of the major modelling agencies. If someone could provide us with that info for Constance, I’d be happy to move it back.

Selma. Now this one really surprised me. I went in expecting an epic biography of the man, but it was actually quite a modest film and all the better for it. The narrower focus really allowed it to get to grips with the detail of the issues involved. A powerhouse performance from David Oyelowo too, just the right mix of historical figure and real human being. Absolutely staggering that he wasn't considered for the Oscar this year.
  22. The comp looks awesome, Kev. Leaving the nominations to the pros, but I promise to vote.
