  1. In general being a celeb must be superweird. Randos taking snaps of you all the time.
  2. Thanks! My notion of that is only based on some old SISE material in which they seemed to heavily imply they were pals but that might have been just done for the SISE promo tours.
  3. Microsoft bought Activision. Kind of awkward for them that they sort of alluded to some of the toxic work place stories at Activision on the official Xbox social media accounts...
  4. Totally different topic: during her SISE days, Alyssa got to do a lot of press with Nina Agdal and it was implied (probably consciously by SI) that she and Nina were pals. Is there any indication Alyssa is still in touch with Nina? Or was that entire relationship purely for SISE?
  5. When Kaia Gerber just came onto the scene, I thought she showed some promise but was still very much removed from her mother's charisma/aura/X-factor at her Supermodel peak. But I reasoned that she was young enough to still make that leap. Nowadays, I am very doubtful. I think if that was going to happen, she would have been a significant amount of the way there already. But she is basically more or less still what she was when she started out?
  6. On looks alone, Yulia should be a super-duper star within the industry. But even though she has been hustling for years, her profile hasn't really risen all that much. I wonder what is holding her back. What agency is she with?
  7. Solveig smiles so very rarely in any of her shoots, it always stands out when she does.
  8. I have given up on even trying to convince the hold-outs. I got my booster and if there is a fourth shot before the Summer, I'll get that one too. But I'm done with trying to convince anyone else to get it, if they aren't convinced at this point, I don't see what will change their mind.
  9. https://www.nationalreview.com/2022/01/so-long-djoker I mean I can't believe there is a great bit of discussion ongoing about who is in the wrong here. There were ways in which Djokovic could be competing in the Aussie open with no problem whatsoever. The core of the problem is that he thought that the rules which apply to everyone else - including his tennis pro peers - should not apply to him.
  10. Well monoclonal antibodies are a very expensive option that will not be attainable for a lot of people, depending on your their insurance status (talking specifically about the U.S.).
  11. "People who cannot get vaccinated" are a tiny, tiny group. Also, I don't tend to get my medical advice from the UFC guy and a podcaster.
  12. I wish they could have made Hannah bigger back when they were still a more relevant company.
  13. Mel is just a walking, talking work of art.
  14. Jackson's LotR is also an interpretation. I don't recall Legolas surfing on a shield in any of the books, and he omits several things, including the entire Tom Bombadil section.
  15. Whilst far from perfect, the Thrawn trilogy's writing is honestly better than anything SW related that has been released since the original trilogy (and probably since Empire). The only thing I might deem an exception is Rogue One (by far the best Disney Star Wars film and this isn't even close).
  16. I think Filoni and Favreau are happy to mine from that stuff when it suits them. There are as many opinions about SW as there are fans. As an older one, I was of the belief when the prequels were released that Lucas should have instead shot the Thrawn Trilogy. Still don't think I'm wrong about that. But the franchise still seems to be doing alright.
  17. Right. Well my sympathy for him is still limited. Could have easily competed at the tournament.
  18. Disney has said from the start that they do not consider any of the EU as canon!
  19. It's just one Grand Slam tournament, it's hardly the end of his career. Also, he could have just gotten vaccinated if he cared that much about competing there.
  20. But we know next to nothing about Boba based on the original trilogy. Other than being a bounty hunter occasionally used by Darth Vader. So I don't know how people can claim they KNOW how he would act in this or that situation. Also, this is the problem with turning a cipher into a real character. He's no longer a faceless man in an armor.
  21. I never knew that Alyssa accused Cam Avery of abusive behavior? That's fucked up to hear and it's good she got far away from the dude if that's true!
  22. I'm different, I honestly don't care about that stuff. Like there is a Henry VIII show coming where Jodie Turner-Smith is going to play Anne Boleyn. I'm totally fine with that! But I also think this is something that has to work both ways! Thus people should also be okay with Gal Gadot playing Cleopatra. Cleopatra herself is a special case anyway, there is this absurd notion that she should be black - largely held by the black community - but her family was of Greek-Macedonian descent, so she almost certainly had the olive-skinned complexion of the people who still inhabit the Mediterranean area nowadays. There is no reason whatsoever to believe she was central-African in appearance. All of this stuff is bullshit anyway, about having some claim to historical figures, as if sharing a skin color with one is truly meaningful?
  23. I think the Boba Fett show is okay. But it shows the obvious problems with having (too many) spin-offs from Mando. I don't think the material is necessarily rich enough to support five or six separate spin-offs. And we are almost certainly getting more of them, apart from just Boba & the Ahsoka one. Specifically speaking about Boba Fett, this was a character who was essentially a cipher for the longest amount of time. A voiceless bounty hunter who people primarily liked because he looked cool. Which means that they could believe whatever they wanted to believe about him. But now that they are devoting an entire show to him, they have to make certain choices about him. And those choices will not conform with how some people have chosen to see a character, which is now already 41 years old. I also think the things that people are getting annoyed at are weird. e.g. like the futuristic vespas that the cyborg kids ride. I'm fine with them adding new vehicles.
  24. Those are still her hottest shoots. It's weird she hasn't really done any similar work since then?
