  1. The minimizing of January 6th is just fucking weird to me. You had a crazy mob storming the U.S. state capitol. The seat of power of the most powerful nation in the world. Yet the right is treating this like a bunch of tourists acting a bit rowdy. If a mob descended upon the Palais Bourbon you can be pretty sure the French would arrest everyone involved.
  2. This mock-up made the rounds when she was rumored to be one of the candidates for the role: I should admit that Anya Chalotra also had to win me over as Yennefer, but I thought by the end of the first season she was a decent choice. By contrast, my disappointment with Anna Schaffer as Triss only grew. She left such a very small impression.
  3. The bare bones of the story are true. The tape was really stolen from their homes (along with the other content of their safe) by a disgruntled electrician who wanted to get back at Tommy Lee after a conflict about renovation work on his mansion. Obviously a lot of the dialogue and situations will have been invented by the screenwriters.
  4. My biggest two issues with The Witcher were the wonky adaptation which meant the story felt disjointed and how poorly they cast Triss. Especially since Elena Satine was in contention and she would have been perfect for it.
  5. Moore was actually Bond for a shorter time than Daniel Craig, only Craig was younger when he started out. Moore was already 46 when he took the part. At least, he was 46 when his first Bond movie, Live And Let Die, was released.
  6. This isn't about wokeness, it's about the industry and how all of these big budget movies are made by committee nowadays. Lucas & Spielberg had a certain level of freedom when they made Raiders that is gone from the movie industry - at least at that level. If you want creative freedom nowadays and not a battalion of suits second-guessing everything, you need to work on a micro-budget (1-5 million USD). If you want to make a movie for real money, they are going to water down anything that might make it interesting and replacement with idiotic, lowest common denominator bullshit.
  7. To me the actor that still best embodies Bond is Sean Connery. Roger Moore - who I otherwise like - brought a lot of cheese into the franchise. Timothy Dalton was okay but was only around for two movies. My issue with the Brosnan Bonds is that apart from Goldeneye, the screenplays are mostly rubbish. Daniel Craig was quite obviously done with the character after Skyfall and only did two more for the huge paycheck he got from EON for Spectre and No Time To Die.
  8. She reminds me of Hannah Ferguson a bit in this shoot. Just the vibe she is giving off.
  9. Lily James looked a lot like Pam in the few stills they had already released. She looks less like Pam in this trailer but she somehow exudes a certain Pam-ness that is still pretty impressive considering how little she actually looks like Anderson.
  10. The fact that Alex turns 36 in March is crazy to me. Time moves so fast!
  11. Oh! I just assumed he was some hedge fund guy! Basically when models don't end up with someone famous, the dude they are with is almost always one of these three archetypes: 1. Filthy rich hedge fund dude (usually quite a bit older) 2. Successful "entrepreneur" in some start-up that might even seem silly on the surface but was successful enough to make him wealthy 3. A dodgy parasite who is mooching off the model's earnings
  12. What do you mean? Still looks the same to me? Just smiling more than usual in these candids!
  13. She looks really good in those IG shots! Not quite back to the old Liz yet for my money but better than I have seen her in a while.
  14. Is she still modeling? I had no idea.
  15. I'm not American so I don't have a dog in this fight. If they see untrained teenagers patrolling the streets whilst heavily armed as a favorable outcome, so be it. But the idea that U.S. police forces are not properly funded is absurd. They are among the best funded law enforcement in the entire world. The LAPD alone has a budget for 2021-2022 of 1.76 billion USD. That's more than a third of Belgium's defense budget. No other police forces in the world have this kind of funding.
  16. Even if the shootings were justified, he was a heavily armed minor who consciously entered a very dangerous situation and was looking for confrontation. Do people really want heavily armed high schoolers patrolling the streets? 🤯 I'm sure that will go well. To me this case is about two very different things, one of them the actual shootings, the other vigilantism. Whether or not the shootings are deemed justified (and it seems we are going in that direction based on what happened in the trial), no civilized society should want vigilantes roaming the streets.
  17. I mean, De Bruyne has played this kind of pass, a lot. So much so it is now deemed entirely ordinary when he does it in a game.
  18. She's more of an actress and TV personality nowadays than a model, I think.
  19. The Lets Go Brandon stuff is so embarrassing. Not from random people online, let them have their fun, but for elected officials at the national level to take part in that juvenile shit is a bit pathetic. Though no longer surprising considering the level at which much of U.S. politics is now conducted.
  20. Bregje's body is just insane.
  21. She also appeared in Labyrinth and Dario Argento's Phenomena around the same time.
  22. The Candi & Lais friendship is great.
