I'm not American so I don't have a dog in this fight. If they see untrained teenagers patrolling the streets whilst heavily armed as a favorable outcome, so be it. But the idea that U.S. police forces are not properly funded is absurd. They are among the best funded law enforcement in the entire world. The LAPD alone has a budget for 2021-2022 of 1.76 billion USD. That's more than a third of Belgium's defense budget. No other police forces in the world have this kind of funding.

Even if the shootings were justified, he was a heavily armed minor who consciously entered a very dangerous situation and was looking for confrontation. Do people really want heavily armed high schoolers patrolling the streets? 🤯 I'm sure that will go well. To me this case is about two very different things, one of them the actual shootings, the other vigilantism. Whether or not the shootings are deemed justified (and it seems we are going in that direction based on what happened in the trial), no civilized society should want vigilantes roaming the streets.

I mean, De Bruyne has played this kind of pass, a lot. So much so it is now deemed entirely ordinary when he does it in a game.

The Candi & Lais friendship is great.

Not really about her personal life! She owes much of her career to appearing in those Sia music videos. But apparently the collaboration on that one movie put a strain on their relationship. I haven't heard much about it since then.

Taylor was a 19-year old girl at the time, whose only adult relationship had been with the much older (11 years difference) Gel Boy. So I will interpret a lot of her then behavior as his bad influence.

They were mocking him and doing "fake" bad accents at him. I didn't really blame Taylor at the time, other than for being naive enough to participate. It was clear from the context that Gel Boy had been the one to initiate things.

I mean it's not like you had to be a genius at judging character to know the dude was a major douche! Wasn't there this incident with him too in Paris where he started to racially abuse a person, totally unprovoked? Which he idiotically shared on his own social media. So apart from anything else, he was also not exactly sharp.

People who were abused/gaslit/manipulated in a relationship sometimes need some time to recover or even to realize what the other person did was not okay.

Well some paparazzi shots are taken with the model/celebrity's consent. Others are even pre-arranged by the celeb in question. So I don't see the reasoning behind banning all pap shots.
