  1. They already made much more than that. Remember that all of these folks had a substantial amount of shares. In essence, after Elon overpaid with his initial offer and then tried to get out of it, the current (well now previous) management made him uphold the deal. The timing of the purchase is no coincidence, some deadlines were about to run out (at which point they could have sued Elon). Elon getting rid of all of them is his "revenge", but it's a paltry one considering they fleeced him majorly on the deal. The most optimistic analysis suggests the purchase was overvalued by 14 dollars a share, but other analysts claim this is still overvaluing the company's actual worth and he actually overpaid by more than 14 dollars a share. In essence the only winners in this thing are the twitter shareholders (including the now fired board of directors).
  2. Aah yes, people can finally use the N-word with impunity on the bird app again, that will make it such a better place.
  3. Seems unlikely most people will pay for this. Like why would large publications pay the 100Ks a year it would cost them to buy blue ticks for all of their staff? Doesn't seem worth it.
  4. Denise Schaefer also went as Jessie from Toy Story!
  5. Yeah, Dani was a sad reminder of however beautiful you are as a model, the industry will still make you think you need to lose weight.
  6. This is such a good recreation of that Bettie Page shoot that I actually thought the first picture was Bettie and not Irina!
  7. If the two choices are Liam Hemsworth as The Witcher or cancelling the entire show, then please cancel this thing!
  8. Yeah, most of the titles that will truly 'make' Unreal Engine 5 are still in development. Then we will see a second wave of developers jumping to it once the first games made in UE5 are successful. There is however a very active developer community already, making small demos in it to showcase what it can do. And it's already heavily in use in the movie industry. Like this proof of concept style demo for a Superman game went viral:
  9. Is it true that Gisele divorced him because she is angry he won't retire? It does seem weird he is clinging to his career this deep into his forties, especially since he has nothing more to prove. He has even answered the "can he win withouth Belicheck" question.
  10. This is also very disappointing from Lauren Hissrich. Before the show had even started, she went on and on on social media about how much she loved and respected the source materials. If Beau DeMaya is being truthful about the Witcher's writer's room, she allowed a culture where the writers would mock the books they were adapting. Even if she herself did not partake, that isn't really a conductive atmosphere to make a good adaptation. The absolute minimum you need is writers who love and respect the source. Even if they end up changing it, if they respect it they will at least change it in a way that does not diminish the spirit of the original stories.
  11. She is amazing. Rather unique body shape too.
  12. She's cute. Fun personality. A lot of these "try on" girls are actually quite dull but she is charming.
  13. Honestly they should just cancel it after season three. No one has any interest in seeing Liam Hemsworth in that role. The fact that they think he is right for that role tells me they don't have a clue about who Geralt is supposed to be.
  14. Well it depends on what you choose to believe (until he himself clears it up). The two theories seem to be that either he doesn't have the time any more between Superman and James Bond (which is still a rumor). Or he finally had enough of the writing direction the showrunner and her writer's room were taking the show in. On that note, this was interesting: https://netflixjunkie.com/netflix-news-writers-of-netflixs-the-witcher-mocked-the-source-material-producer-writer-beau-demayo-exposes-their-little-secret/ So apparently according to Beau DeMayo (who was a writer on season one of the show), several of the writers mocked the source material. Doesn't seem like an ideal situation for an adaptation.
  15. So having read up on it, there are theories that Cavill is jumping ship because the showrunner is ignoring his wish to stay true to the spirit of the books (specifically about how Geralt acts and talks). I am willing to give this some credence because he has mentioned this disagreement in a few interviews. On the other hand, I don't think it's just down to Superman, I think he could structure his schedule that he could return to play the Man of Steel whilst still playing Geralt too. So I think this is primarily about having secured another role that will take up a lot of his time. Which is why I also believe the James Bond rumors about him. A shame, I was skeptical about him as Geralt but I thought he did a good job and it's clear he loves both the character and the Witcher universe. And Liam Hemsworth could not be a more underwhelming replacement.

  17. That sucks. Cavill did a good job and I don't rate Liam as an actor. I guess this means the Bond rumors might be true as well?
  18. I see some culture warriors are complaining about the remake because they used the term "modern re-iminaging" in the announcement and it is being interpreted as "woke". A normal person might interpret that as "a remake in Unreal Engine 5", but I guess I'm no longer attuned to the times.
  19. Arya's story line is very close to the show. But the show went well beyond the point that the books covered. Arya's story still has her in Braavos. The last bit of her story has her kill Raff the Sweetling. In the show they also had this scene, but they replaced Raff with Meryn Trant. This is roughly how far the books have thus gotten in Arya's story lines.
  20. The Jaime and Brienne story lines differ greatly from the books. The Theon chapter is one from Winds of Winter that GRRM published on his blog a few years ago. He has also read it aloud at some fan events. This is all the stuff that GRRM has given us a glimpse at in terms of Winds of Winter: https://thehawke.github.io/twow-excerpts/ Theon chapter: https://thehawke.github.io/twow-excerpts/chapters/theon.html
  21. Well for some definitely. Like I think book Sandor is more interesting. More nuanced for sure. Also Jorah and Tyrion's adventures in Essos go a bit deeper than the short bit we get of that on the show. And even though she is less "fierce", I also think Sansa is much smarter written by GRRM than what Benioff & Weiss ended up doing with her. I'm also convinced that whatever Stannis' greater role is in GRRMs vision, he is not going to perish during some doomed assault on Winterfell in the books. The pre-published Theon chapter kind of reveals this a bit already. In general I think Benioff & Weiss took a lot of stupid shortcuts to finish their show in the final three seasons.
  22. Yeah, Jorah and Tyrion are much more attractive/handsome on the TV show than in the books. Tyrion's face is meant to be more misshapen. And by the time he survives the Battle of the Blackwater, he has lost most of his nose. On the show they just gave him a little scar. But I get why they would change that kind of stuff. Less so with the plot development for the characters.
  23. I do have to ask: looking at any clip or picture set from a few years ago, I cannot shake the impression that Sarah's chest has changed. Is there a chance she had some sort of breast reduction surgery done? Or am I totally imagining this?
