  1. I'm not talking about Donald, I'm talking about a lot of the media personalities and GOP politicians who have since tried to minimize what happened that day.
  2. Musk still claims he hasn't changed anything about content moderation. I have no idea if that is true or not.
  3. I think DeSantis would be a weaker candidate for the GOP than Mitt Romney even was. But it seems Trump has become persona no grata for a lot of the older GOP leadership.
  4. I think Trump has a far better chance than DeSantis, who the GOP seems to be rallying around to get rid of Trump. For one thing his national profile is already far bigger. And DeSantis always seems small to me when asked to operate outside of his Florida safe haven. I think the GOP hopes that Trump won't run so they can go with the safer candidate. But I think DeSantis is actually the weaker candidate by far. Just someone more willing to work with the old party hierarchy, like Mitch McConnell. Trump is more of a maverick and those guys don't like that.
  5. Here's a crazy notion: perhaps looting and burning down cities is bad and storming the capitol is bad too? My point is more that you cannot complain about one and then just claim the other is fine or justified. Either you are against violence and property destruction or you are in favor of it.
  6. The thing I don't get about January 6th is the GOP presenting itself as the law and order party but apparently also being alright with a mob storming the seat of power? You cannot have it both ways. "Violence and riots are bad, except when it's our supporters doing it, then it's fine." is not a law & order position.
  7. The thing I will never understand is people giving their money to these folks.
  8. Indy 4 was terrible. I have no interest in Indy 5.

  10. Good for her! Who is her husband?
  11. A 3D remake (in the Fallout 4 engine) of the original game is being made by some modders.
  12. Okay I'm now convinced he actually does want to destroy it, and is just having fun by acting like a troll to the leftover staff in the process. The thing I do not get is his desire to burn $44 billion in record time and to tarnish his reputation in the process. There are some rumblings online that Musk is actually doing this at the behest of some super-wealthy parties that want to get rid of Twitter and that he won't be holding the entire $44 billion bag when the music ends.
  13. Yeah but there is a huge difference between not liking a company and spending 44 billion to buy it just to destroy it.
  14. No company could survive gutting 85% of its workforce. At least no serious company.
  15. I thought the idea that Musk had bought Twitter just to destroy it was too absurd to be true. It is getting increasingly hard to make sense of what he is doing if that was not his ultimate goal.
  16. There are other reports out there that suggest that the remaining number of twitter employees is not under 1000. It is closer to under 300. If that is remotely true then twitter is already a zombie site/app.
  17. Seems like 75% of remaining staff rejected Musk's "Hardcore" Twitter. If that number is accurate he doesn't even have 1000 employees left. Remember that 7000 people worked there before the takeover. Entire departments are now gone. Site is now probably living on borrowed time.
  18. Damn, she must be the most attractive active female football player in the world.
  19. Interesting that we are going to get adaptations of two of the more funny game series I played: Fallout and also Borderlands.
  20. Well to be fair Bethesda has always been a bit janky. To some it's part of their appeal. So I never was bothered by the lack of polish in Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. I thought the writing was the biggest issue with Fallout 4. Just no truly compelling main quest lines. Perhaps the Railroad was the most interesting of the ones you could choose from but that seemed to have fewer big quests. I liked the settlement game dynamic but that was a bit of a side-show (and also got repetitive).
  21. Yeah, a series not really known for its humor.

  23. Croatian NT player?
  24. My main issue with it is Jonathan Nolan. A staple of the series - right back to its pre-Bethesda origins with the original Interplay game - has been its dark sense of humor. Whereas I don't think Nolan does comedy well. And I especially doubt he will nail Fallout's specific tone.
  25. It's funny how they always choose a terrible picture of Pete Davidson whenever he has a new conquest.
