Someone like her will be paid scale, which is around 2K a day nowadays, I believe. Unless she has a very good agent who can negotiate a better deal. But since no one will see this movie for her involvement, I cannot see how that is possible. But for a model-turned-actress, the exposure can be worth a lot more than whatever she is going to get.

A 20 year old who has been with this guy for quite a while (since she was essentially still a child) is likely still quite impressionable. I'm not saying that many other girls her age wouldn't have dumped the guy by now, but I can forgive immaturity in a 20 year old.

I don't really blame Taylor because she is still a very young person. But this guy is what, 31? If he doesn't know any better by now, he never will.

I wasn't even aware of the costume thing. I was referring to the incident in Paris where he mocked a random Muslim person with all the maturity and sensitivity of a 13-year old Hitlerjugend wannabe. If your tolerance for bigotry is higher than mine, then that's not my problem.

Hmmm. In my personal experience, Parisians are kind of friendly, most of the time. I would say the rudest people on average I have encountered in a "big" city would be in Amsterdam. Though I do think it does help - in general - if you can speak the language in France.

I think she is spot on both in terms of the counter-productiveness of a burkini-ban and the issues with oppressive modesty norms and our (the West) various reactions to them. As is almost always the case with issues at the heart of a cultural mine-field, the reality isn't as black and white as some (most) would want you to believe.

You are going to have to explain to me how that is equivalent to a burkini ban.
