I'm sure I have said this before, but anyone who thinks he can't win again has not been paying attention.

Yet again, John McCain proves he's not a hero.
  4. To be honest, I'm not big on Grindhouse. I'm not sure why, but that has never really clicked with me.
  5. Not at all Are you Friendly to people you don't know?
  6. ^^ I thought she was good. Good second song choice, too.
  7. I constantly assume I am eating awful things. We eat so much worse than our grandparents. I may have posted this in the Infinity Wars thread, but I agree with the need for an emotional impact. I think they need to kill an important character in one of the Infinity movies. If you never feel they are really at risk, it's hard to take the danger seriously. I know they have killed some secondary characters, but it needs to happen with a big one (I thought it was going to happen with Hawkeye in Ultron). That would be a good choice. That was not a good movie. I doubt they will make an Indiana Jones movie without Spielberg, though.
  8. After Star Trek and Star Wars, what's the next franchise that will ask Abrams to reinvigorate it. He's a reinvigorating expert.
  9. The crazy thing about Episode VII for me was the similarities with Episode IV. I don't even have an opinion if that's good or bad, but I remember that being my first thought after seeing it.

I think everyone should be excited about the transparent wall. It's scary to think about the drug cartels throwing bags of drugs over the wall and hitting people in the head.
  11. I don't have very high standards to see a movie, mainly because there are two places nearby that let me in for free. My standards are higher to say a movie is great, though. Expectations are big factor in how you rate a movie.
  12. That's not a fair comparison since Nolan is essentially a real life superhero. Formulaic is definitely true. The comedy may be the main thing that keeps my interest, but I see a lot of movies so I don't have a high standard to get me in the door. After Infinity 2, I don't know. I don't frequent those message boards but I have read some guesses, but who knows. DC really wanted to copy Marvel, but started from a different place. Marvel started with individual movies and by the time they got to the first Avengers movie, all they characters were already known. The opposite of that is Suicide Squad, a movie where you had to introduce everyone before really even getting the movie started. That's a bad way to make a superhero movie. DC seems to try to have some comedy like Marvel while wanting to be dark like the Dark Knight movies. I'm not sure you can do both.
  13. I am not comic book movied out, not yet anyway. I think I benefit from having very little comic book background. I have never owned a comic book and have no attachment to the characters before the movies. Marvel probably keeps me interested because they do a good job inserting comedy. With three movies coming out every year, it's hard to know how long that can last though. Star Wars is releasing one movie every year. That doesn't sound like a lot compared to Marvel, but it could become too much at some point.
  14. And if those kind of people died, I would expect the world could be a better place.
  15. ^^ It's obvious he didn't write that before hand. It's like he becomes Luther for a couple of minutes. That's what makes him so funny, he commits completely. He is so good. Not to speak for Colbert, but I think he was surprised and impressed. It looks like he thought it was going to be a simple quick thing, but Keegan went with.

  17. In some of the GoT seasons, the first episode is all about setting up the season so not enough stuff happens. I agree about Olenna, she is a fun character.

Re-watching Breaking Bad. First time I have watched the show since the finale.
  19. I don't remember the names of the members of any I have seen, so I wouldn't notice once they removed them. That is probably one I saw.

It's a reasonable statement to make that the UK (the US too) would likely not exist in their present form if it wasn't for France's help at multiple points in history.

It's that crazy change of language thing. Like Copenhagen vs København. Or Munich vs München.
  22. Most nominations this year by network (not including technical awards): - HBO - 46 - FX - 27 - Netflix - 27 - NBC - 17 - ABC - 11
  23. I forgot about that map on the floor. I wonder how they made it. It doesn't seem like it's worth the effort to paint the whole thing for a short scene.
