  1. Hard to argue against that.

3-team groups with 2 advancing is not a format that's used much, so it's hard to say exactly how it will go. I would imagine many of the final games will have no impact on which teams advance. It doesn't seem appealing.
  4. ^^^ People like Ms. Gaga.

I know it's 9 years away, but any thoughts on the 48-team World Cup format? I'm not looking forward to it, and I think it will be hard to get used to (both the qualification and the final tournament).
  6. Gabriella Wilde [8] Adelaide Kane [7] I don't have a strong preference. We need more voters.
  7. I have mixed feelings. I'm glad the season is about to start. I wish it was longer than 7 episodes. I don't like that the final season could be two years away. I really don't like that the final season means it will be over. Having said all that nonsense, I will enjoy watching every episode.

I like how the first guy in your list has had his own show within the show, really. That's a great character to follow.
  9. Is this the theme for SI 2018?

Agreed. I do like Better Call Saul a lot too. I like how they are adding BB characters as they get closer to the start of BB in the timeline. It's a different kind of show than BB though.

If you are having trouble with season 1 of Breaking Bad, the good news is that it's only seven episodes.

It may be a short-lived run at #2 with Spider-Man coming. Whether that movie passes WW or not, it has been a great run for WW and should almost guarantee a sequel.

  15. ^^^ And what caused you to think about The Fire Blaster?

This conversation reminded me of something I noticed recently. I sometimes watch panels where they have an all actor group or an all actress group and I notice the difference in topics. Male panel topics might be:1) How great was it to play this great part? 2) How did you chose this part? 3) What was is like working on this project? Female panel topics might be: 1) How many times have you been sexually harassed in casting or during filming? 2) How have you been treated poorly on set because you are a woman? 3) How hard is it to find a project with a good character to work with? 4) Wasn't it amazing you had the rare opportunity to work on a script written by a woman or with a female director? It's two fairly different worlds they work in, even when they are on the same set. Unfortunately.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that at all, it's what I would like to happen. Maybe the fact that I don't expect it says more about me. I generally assume the worst in these situations, so I assume the boy's club of the movie industry will continue to behave as they have in the past. As a side note, Edgar Wright is not known for writing complex female characters. Off the top of my head, the closest he has gotten is maybe Scott Pilgrim vs The World? And we are not talking about a complex character really.
  18. I didn't want that to sound like a negative, just that models and actresses are experienced in interviews, so it could be hard to know if they are speaking intelligently. An experienced airhead can sound smart enough in a quick interview. It's really not a big deal though, no one should put too much emphasis on one aspect of ranking these five lovely ladies. It's about the overall.
  19. 5. Amber Heard 4. Vita Sidorkina 3. Anna Christina Schwartz 2. Clara Alonso 1. Eva Green Of the factors given for ranking, intelligence is the most difficult to be certain of. Of course, one factor does not carry too much value.

^^ Yeah, the movie doesn't pass the Bechdel test, that's true (and that's a low bar). Although I enjoy movies with strong and independent female characters, I have given up expecting the studios to make an effort to create many movies like that. I realized a while back that I would enjoy very few movies if I expected that from movies every time I watched one. That being said, the female characters were weak. Can you imagine how cool it would have been if Baby was a woman? That could have been done, and if done well, the movie would likely have been even better.
  21. Really, Lais fake? There have been a few weird statements recently about who has fakes which made no sense to me.
