I think you are right. It's not only about the movies, it's also the theme parks and merchandising, etc.

I think 2049 is part of the reason for my optimism, and I completely agree about the cast.

Nolan, Branagh, and Caine

Villeneuve's involvement means I'm in, I'm not sure how interested I would be without him.

It's still funny to me that if they do a Justice League 2 then they will have Ben as Batman in that and Robert as Batman in this. Feels odd to me. I particularly like the choices of Zoe and Andy. Not as sure about some of the others, but I am open to waiting to see how it works. Mainly because I get frustrated with people who decide they know a movie or show will be good or bad before seeing it and I try to avoid doing that.

I think you are right. It seems like every time there is a conflict on one of the films it's between her and a creative, usually a director. The difference between what I have seen about her and Feige is that when he has a disagreement with a director it's about seeing the movie differently creatively, which I don't hear in stories about KK.

I completely forgot about Feige and Star Wars, probably because specifics have not come out yet. My only worry about him is that there is a chance he is taking on too much.

Above everything, Disney is a company and cares about making money. If they make money with PC stuff, they will keep doing it, if they don't make money, they will stop. Companies are not leaders in social movements and change (and it doesn't matter if the change is good or bad). They can't take the risk.

I looked around and it seems like the show HBO said no to had filmed a pilot which apparently they didn't like enough. HBO said yes to this other show without a pilot. I have not seen a number of episodes ordered.

I have not seen anything specific about what they are working on, just that they are getting 200 million. I don't understand how Netflix works either, seems like too much money for a comedy special, and almost makes 200 million seem like a deal.

Good news for those who don't like Star Wars, there are no movies currently in production. Bad news for the same people, that will not last too long.

^ I don't think they were involved in the prequel, not sure why HBO called it off. They probably backed out of the Star Wars thing because of the crazy money Netflix is giving them.
