  1. I saw that earlier, didn't imagine that happening. In a month or two, we may find out that pets are infecting their families.
  2. Marathon of all three? Maybe the animated ones too?

  6. I'm starting to think a lot of animals might be, even if it's a kind of smart we don't understand yet. That is a movie I can watch over and over without getting tired of it. The best.
  7. I don't know if anyone has watched the newer episodes of Cosmos, but I think bees might be smarter and generally better than humans.
  8. I remembered thinking about this last week. The numbers now are US 310000+ and 8400+ World 1.2+ million and 64000+ Looks like the deaths kept a similar pace, with a slight increase. I'm not guessing for next week, but it will be too many.
  9. I get a good laugh out of people who expect other people to completely change who they are. If someone is obnoxious, incurious, stubborn, dismissive of others, bad with money, generally mean, or any other negative thing, they are going to stay that way. (This is not in response to anything in this thread or on this site, just something I was thinking about and had nowhere else to put it )

Brescia said they will not participate if Serie A resumes the season. Belgium has decided to end their league's season as it stands. UEFA said any league which doesn't attempt to finish its season will not be allowed to participate in European competition.
  13. I don't know their specific plans either but all the drafts should be easy to do remotely, everyone doesn't have to be together. I think the transfer window should work, also. Of course, everyone may be getting players for seasons that won't happen.
  14. I keep seeing economists saying that the rebound from this economic crisis will be quick as soon as the virus situation is fixed. I wonder if they would still say that if someone told them the virus, and the social restrictions that go with them, will definitely last through the middle of 2021. It seems like the only way to keep the economies of the world alive is to figure out how immunity works with this virus and get the immune people back to work. People thought South Korea and Hong Kong had it figured out, but they are still having virus spread with significant restrictions in place (and they are doing better than everyone else).
  15. Posted this here to not mess up the other thread. From the smart people I have watched and read it seems like sports with fans can't happen until there is a vaccine. Sports without fans may be possible but no one has figured it out yet. A lot of leagues around the world are watching to see how China does it with their basketball league. If China hasn't worked out how to make that work yet, it is going to be a long time for most countries to do it.

  18. I want to see a leader somewhere in the world say something like "I didn't take this seriously as quickly as I should have" or "Our bad preparation or bad reaction is my fault". I imagine this person doesn't exist, though.
  19. Because they are really dumb? Or they don't like beauty?
  20. Contagion and Outbreak are apparently popular right now. I don't want to watch either, Contagion especially seems really similar to what is happening now. I'm sure the churches lose money without the people there in person, but the government needs to do the right thing like they have done with businesses. If the people think church will protect them from getting sick, I'm sure they can believe church will survive any money problems.
  21. In the US, one governor says I didn't know it could be spread by someone without symptoms until yesterday. At least one governor says stay at home and no group gatherings, but you can still go to church. wow
  22. Sounds likely. Reminds me of how in the movie World War Z a CIA agent explains that when N Korea realized there was a problem with zombies, they removed all the teeth of everyone in the country. It sounded like something they would do.
  23. I remembered your 10x number when I looked at Brazil's numbers today. I remember thinking I hope that big a number is accurate because I was worried it was smaller. Brazil currently says they have 6000+ confirmed cases and 60000+ suspected cases which is 10x. The actual number of infected people in Brazil is even higher so that could mean 15x or even 20x. All that makes me a little hopeful because the more people who are infected but have no symptoms or don't feel bad enough to go to the doctor is better, like a lower death rate and a higher chance of herd immunity.
  24. Great news out of North Korea, they have announced they have had zero cases of the virus.
