Is history repeating itself? Once upon a time Sean Connery left the James Bond franchise, saying he would never again play the role. Roger Moore was brought in for an increasingly campy series of films, but 12 years later Connery was back as Bond in Never Say Never Again. Only it wasn’t part of the official franchise; it was a remake of fourth Bond film Thunderball, which courts had ruled belonged to producer and co-writer Kevin McClory (read this Wikipedia article for the complete confusing rundown). Now it seems that McClory is ready to pull that trick again – once more he’ll remake Thunderball, this time with Pierce Brosnan starring as Bond. At least that’s what he hop…

So this clown Uwe Boll has made some of the worst movies ever. mostly adaptations of video games. and naturally, anyone who sees these movies pans them. critics hate this guy, and he hates them. so his solution? fight them in the ring. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=65474 like a movie critic is going to want to spend the time beating him up (or vice versa!) and end up in one of his terrible movies. oh boy.

Of course, there are many categories, there are the emotional ones, the action junkies, the intellectual ones... I don't want to list all because: 1) I don't want to stereotype, 2) I don't know how many categories there are. The action junkie just love actions, they don't care about the plot. They tend to watch dumb movies like Daredevil or Steven Seagal stuff. The emotional ones are those who loves corny flicks like Titanic and Lost In Translation. The intellectual ones have tend to watch movie that has a meaning like an artistic value or a reflection of the society's values and culture. That is, however, another type of intellectual ones, the not-so-intellectual …

I bought The Punisher DVD yesterday. No, not the stupid Dolf Lundgren one, but the excellent Thomas Jane one. A very cool movie, and the extras on the DVD are great behind the scenes stuff. I wanted to also share something that I am excited about....The Punisher 2 is in production with Thomas Jane as Frank Castle again.

Think what you will about Vin Diesel, these movies are some great sci-fi. Not the usual thing you usually see, these actually have some decent character development and what those of us who love sci-fi love...a great "world" development. The action is great too. Pitch Black started it off and even though it was lower budget than the usual sci-fi flick, it turned out great. Chronicles of Riddick is a very different movie though it takes place clearly in the same universe. It had a much bigger budget and an even more creative script than Pitch Black. Dark Fury was created to bridge the gap between the two movies and is a pretty cool lil cartoon. I just got all 3 DVDs…

Saw this tonight. It's just over 3 hours long and it's all great! They spend more time building up all the main characters but do it in fairly interesting ways. Once the adventure starts it's just a freakin rollercoaster for almost 2 hours straight. The fights with the TRexs are awesome! and the Brontasaurus stampede is just crazy! The bugs are way gross and there is one part in that one scene that is NOT for kids....yuck! You'll know which one I mean. The emotional connection between Ann and Kong is captured wonderfully. The effects for Kong are simply amazing to be able to convey so much through his eyes, face and body. Peter Jackson really did a great piece of …

http://www.kungfuhustle.com/ Just seen it. Damn cool. Damn funny. Fight scenes choreographed by Yuen Wo Ping. (Matrix and Kill Bill fight scene choreograper). It has Matrix spoof elements (especially the fight scenes) and even Spiderman spoof elements in it. It also has a little bit of philosopy. It's now one of the most successfull foreign film. The most successfull Hong Kong flick, so far. A sequel is in the making.

Hitting theatres November 18th, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the next in the (to be) seven book series turned movies by J.K. Rowling. Based in Harry Potter's fourth year at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, we find our scarred hero attending the Quidditch World Cup (and running into trouble), as well as taking part in the Tri-Wizard Tournament. In this movie we will meet several new characters, as well as see the rebirth of the Dark Lord Voldemort (played by Ralph Fiennes) I imagine everyone has read this book, at least everyone will before seeing the movie. I'm pretty much guessing it'll be a lot like the third, where you had to have read the book to…

We list our most beloved movie cliches here and where you have seen them. I'll start: A knows how to handle guns & other firearms well. Most probably a cop. B doesn't know anything about guns and has probably never touched a gun before. In times of crisis, B has to learn how to defend ermself, so A briefly taught erm, in under 5 mins or so, how to shoot. "Just aim and pull the trigger", said A. Last I see this: In I, Robot, Will Smith taught Bridget Monayhan's character to shoot.

This was a surprisingly touching and well-made documentary about the lives of Antarctic penguins. I can't imagine too many people watching this and being disappointed. Of course, it helps if you like penguins to begin with, but the cinematography was beautiful, and the penguins themselves were very endearing. Has anyone else seen this? http://www.phenomenamagazine.com/0/editori...=22&obj_id=3741 So, if they take out religion, the Magdalene, the sacred feminine, Opus Dei, the sex ritual, the Priory of Sion... then, I guess they'll be left with a great car chase movie... The film version of The Da Vinci Code is attempting to reduce the offence that the best-selling book caused to Roman Catholics. Sony Pictures, the studio behind the film starring Tom Hanks and Sir Ian McKellen, is reported to have been so concerned that it has consulted Catholic and other Christian specialists on how it might alter the plot of the novel to avoid offending the devout. Film officials have held talks with Catholic groups…

I happen to be a big Marilyn Monroe fan and was excited to hear from a friend at Universal that there was a new documentary released about her called "Marilyn's Man." I read about it at the movie's website (www.marilynsman.com) and it looks like it's her first husband (who very recently passed away) telling the story of her life before she was famous, and her love affair with him. Seems interesting, has anyone else heard anything about this?
