I did a search and couldn't find a previous topic on this, so I thought I'd start one by saying I've always wanted to see a Broadway play and finally got the opportunity Saturday night. I saw "Wicked" at the Gershwin Theatre and it was great! The story was creative and funny, the lead actresses were phenomenal, there were tons of gorgeous 18-25ish women, and Oprah was in the audience.

I was wondering if I should start my own business online Here's how it would work... I am pretty good at drawing portraits, if you haven't seen them already I can post them here to show you... anyway, I was thinking about selling some of my protraits online. I have been thinking about doing this for a few months, and I have worked out a lot of the details, but not all of them. I will need all of your help for that part. I have been paid to do portraits in the past and I enjoyed it. But I never was able to work out a price for the potraits... I have been paid anywhere from $10-$50 for a 8 1/2" x 11" portrait... and I was thinking about opening it up to possibly drawing…

Thomas Kinkade is America's most collected living artist. Coming from a modest background, Kinkade emphasizes simple pleasures and inspirational messages through his paintings. As a devout Christian, Kinkade uses his gift as a vehicle to communicate and spread inherent life-affirming values. It was while growing up in the small town of Placerville, California that these important values were nurtured. It was also during this time that Kinkade began to explore the world around him. He spent a summer on a sketching tour with a college friend, producing the best-selling instructional book, The Artist's Guide to Sketching. The success of the book landed the two young artists…

There are only two books out so far but I was wondering if anyone has read them. A friend of mine said they are really good but I was wondering if anyone else thought so. I am currently on a waiting list at the library with 19 people in front of me and I was wondering if they are really worth the wait.

i start this thread because i'm totally obsessed by old magazines; particulary the erotic/porn/crimes ones and it should be nice to discover if i'm the only one or other people appreciate it. i put the "warning" in the title because i should be obligated to "hide" 95% of the pictures i would post, and it the end, it would be a very big mess and i couldn't remember what i've already posted.

Supporting statements with citations becomes necessary in any type of scientific text. This includes, among others, theses, dissertations and all kinds of publications and scientific papers. Students cannot avoid the topic of citation during their studies, because proper citations are required for both term papers during the semester and for bachelor's, master's, or diploma theses. But how are you supposed to know what you actually have to cite and what not? In general, anything that is considered common knowledge does not need to be backed up with a source. If it can be assumed that readers know about a statement, no citation is necessary. This is based on th…

This is a thread where you introduce your favorite art pieces to BZ. I'd like to limit it to non-performing arts. So paintings, sculptures, architecture, an conceptual art are all acceptable. To get us started: Resurrezione di Lazzaro by Caravaggio Before I start explaining why I like this painting, I should probably mention that I am a great admirer of abstract art. There is very little in the Baroque era that I really love, yet this painting finds itself easily in my top ten. Why is hard to explain without access to the piece itself. Just believe me when I tell you that the picture I included above does not even capture 1/100th of the power of seeing this piece in…

I'm not sure if this is allowed, but here's this thread and if it's allowed on well great if not well I'm sorry. I went to the hairdresser that's near my house. It's this lady and she does it in her garage. Sickest thing ever. Has a great vibe, that place. And of course hse has fashion magszines there! And that's why I went, because my sister was getting a haircut, and not I. So, what's something that really interested you form this magazine? (ect.) Another reaosn why I created this thread was because I had a question, I think it's last month's or this month's issue, (are they monthly, I'm not even sure actually) and they had these photographs of eyemakeup, which fill…
