December 22, 20195 yr If you are wondering why so many models and celebrities flocked to Saudi-Arabia for that photo op this weekend, supposedly some of the attendees got up to eight figures for their presence. 🤯
December 22, 20195 yr  The women dancing and having fun in this video would be imprisoned, tortured and possibly worse if they behaved the same way as Saudi women.  I shouldn't be surprised that celebs are so easily bought. I am still shocked by it. Â

December 23, 20195 yr I've seen the presence confirmed of Alessandra Ambrosio, Olivia Culpo, Nadine Leopold, Cindy Bruna, Winnie Harlow, Stella Maxwell, Jourdan Dunn, Irina Shayk, Romee Strijd, Joan Smalls, Elsa Hosk and Rose Bertram for that music festival in Saudi-Arabia. Any models I missed who were also there?
December 23, 20195 yr There's always been something improbable and fake about Dubai, a city that couldn't have grown to its level without oil revenues supporting its development and the way its works- flush with cash- attracts an international labor supply flowing in. Tacky and tasteless.   Those middle Eastern princes and oil barons and so forth.. like Russian oligarchs they just don't deserve to be the richest and the most powerful people in the world.
December 24, 20195 yr I'm seeing a lot of hypocrisy in the body positivity movement's reaction to Adele's weight loss. Â I've seen baseless claims of eating disorders, the notion that she only lost the weight through some form of self-hate... Â Isn't the central belief of their entire movement that people should be allowed to feel good about their bodies regardless what shape or size it is? So shouldn't this apply just as much to the thinner Adele as it did to the fatter Adele?

Hypocrisy is in everything these days.  Adele has a youngling and I’ve see lots of women lose weight just keeping up with their kids. My mom did.  Yes! Well said, and I agree completely!

December 28, 20195 yr Good on Martha Hunt, she certainly has gone up in my estimation with that principled stance.

December 29, 20195 yr Eddie Gallagher's wife is more sexually attracted to him than ever; and knowledge of his crimes makes her want him more.   https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7212141/Inked-Navy-SEAL-Eddie-Gallagher-gets-new-tattoo-wifes-eyes.html   Â
December 29, 20195 yr I hope for her it turns out alright but people who are so pathological violent will likely not go through civilian life without any flourishes of brutality.

They are oppressive, they fund obscure organisations and like a lot of Gulf States they do human trafficking, like in these stories: Spoiler http://www.rfi.fr/afrique/20180401-esclavage-jeunes-mauritaniennes-arabie-saoudite https://www.courrierinternational.com/article/enquete-instagram-et-haraj-maillons-de-lesclavage-moderne https://www.elle.fr/Societe/News/Une-princesse-saoudienne-accusee-d-esclavage-domestique-2476707 Â They consider Asian workers as slaves. So, you have every right to be shocked and you have every right to call them out. Â These guys just dig holes in the ground and dollars flow out.... but what really annoys me is how easily they buy influential people in the West (not just models, but also politicians - who are supposed to be public servants)
December 29, 20195 yr It's like when the NBA bows down to autoritarian regimes or when Disney censors a lesbian kiss in Star Wars.... https://www.theguardian.com/film/2019/dec/24/star-wars-lesbian-kiss-cut-rise-of-skywalker-singapore  These guys are hypocrites (of the worst kind) and... you never break up a girls' kiss Spoiler  Â

I think some of the companies started out caring about issues, but once they became  corporations and conglomerates the caring of issues became the first thing that was dropped, for whatever reason they give. Because there is no profit in those.Â

December 30, 20195 yr Well for the NBA, the problem with Daryl Morey's China comments is the fact that apparently 10% of their money is now made in China. Â I don't think anyone in any position of power at the NBA disagreed with Morey. It's just that money talks and China is very willing to crack that whip.
