August 18, 20168 yr And it continues... Quote British Olympic Athlete Held Up At Gunpoint In Rio After Ryan Lochte Robbery — Report This is so terrifying! Just days after champion swimmer was Ryan Lochte allegedly robbed, a British Olympic team member was also reportedly held up at gunpoint in Rio on Aug. 16 while out on the town. Get all the details of the scary incident right here! It’s awful to think about someone being put in danger while trying to unwind after a day of stress from participating in the 2016 Rio Olympics, but that’s what allegedly happened to an unnamed member of the British Olympic team, as reported by The Guardian. While many details are still unclear, the incident, in which the team member was held at gunpoint, reportedly happened “in the early hours of Tuesday morning”, and while the individual was left “in shock”, he was “not seriously hurt” — phew. Officials reportedly responded by issuing a cautionary email to athletes, informing them that if they left Olympic Village, they would be doing so at their own risk. The Guardian has apparently seen the letter, and reports that officials referred to the news as “a significant security incident”, and told athletes not to take taxis or wear Team GB apparel outside the village: “[Athletes must] avoid leaving the village after dark in anything other than [British Olympic Association] transport — taxis cannot be considered safe late at night. If you are planning on going out after dark and have no way of returning other than via taxi, do not go out.” Better safe than sorry! “Rio is NOT a safe environment, and the level of crime has spiked in the last few days,” the letter reportedly added. “Think very carefully about whether it is worth the risk of leaving the village to celebrate after you have finished competing — BOA/UKA staff cannot guarantee your safety when away from the village/British School/British House. Our strong advice is that it is simply not worth the risk given the current climate in Rio.” hollywoodlife.com

August 19, 20168 yr To be honest, having heard the 'details' of the supposed incident that led to Lochte's fabricated story, I still find myself wondering why anyone would want to invent such a ridiculous, overblown lie to cover up what seemed like a relatively innocuous (albeit really stupid) occurence. However, I reckon the following post probably explains it... On 8/18/2016 at 11:29 PM, TKC said: Ryan is a dumbass. Period lol
