I'm 22 and I couldn't disagree with you more. If anything, The women that actually look like mature, sexy, adult women are the largest draw to the show for me. I don't want to see teenage-looking girls in lingerie because I'm not a teenager nor do I want to look like one or find that appealing. I'd rather aspire to look sexy, fierce, and confident like the Adriana's and Alessandra's of the show. I don't want to see a bunch of girls that look like they should be in high school classes with my little sister. 

 

As for "no one your age" being attracted Adriana... who do you know?! Genuinely curious, because I don't know a single person in my age group, regardless of gender that isn't attracted to Adriana or doesn't find her beautiful. There's a reason she was the only model in the entire lineup to trend worldwide during the show and trust me, it's not because no one's attracted to her. She's most certainly not the problem with VS. If anything, she IS Victoria's secret and she's holding them together. 

 

And say what you will about Lady Gaga but two things trended during the show: Adriana Lima and Lady Gaga. No other model, no other performer. And while Lady Gaga's new leaf she's turned may not be as popular as her music of the past (truthfully, I hate it), to say she's not "mainstream" isn't fully accurate. She's still a star in her own right, even if her light's a little dimmer now than before. She's been on a popular TV show with a cult following, she's working on a movie with Bradley Cooper, she has her own cult following, and she's a performer that actually has a genuine love and appreciation of fashion and the creativity of it. She's an entertainer through and through. 

 

VS has a lot of issues, but Adriana and Lady Gaga weren't either of them.

You are right about everything, but don't get you hopes up about VS changing anything, including models. I think it is going to stay this way until show gets canceled soon and they will focus only on PINK, which brings them the most cash.

This entire show needs to be revamped IMO. Get rid of the old models. They look like older aunts to some of the girls, and are like relics from another decade. Cut them, and have them come back to narrate like Heidi did, or for a reunion segment or something. 

 

If VS wants new customers, then the brand has to give them something to relate to. They need more models like Candice (perfection), Elsa (perfection), Izabel (always liked her more than Ale) , Gigi(IT model of the moment, and the girl can sell product), Taylor (cute face, candles, big thighs, can they not find someone with a cute face and a nice body?), Romee (needs to redo boob job, otherwise, gorgeous, legs for days like KK)

From past years, Karolina Kurkova, Miranda Kerr, Rosie Huntington-Whitley, and Doutzen Kroes (albeit the waist issue, again, but otherwise, gorgeous)

Emily Didonato, Babara Palvin fit the bill. What happened to Toni Garrn? 

Behati, I don't know how she became a VS model, but she's married so they can't cut her. What happened to Lais, she used to be so pretty and bubbly, even had a segment from when her ankle was twisted and had to miss the show a couple years ago, now she looks..different and just sad. Jasmine is cute with the fantasy bra, but I have never heard of her before. Did she do any promo prior to the show? Who are the other girls...Josephine, forgettable face, forgettable body. Not distinctive at all, she looks like a lot of girls I go to school with, and some of them has better skin than her. When I put on VS, I would want to look like a goddess, someone like Miranda, Taylor(face-wise), Elsa, or Candice, oh and Jasmine, not to look like an average girl. Martha I guess they can't cut her either, relatable and Taylor Swift clinger-on. Poor Rachel, the cutest face, but extremely stocky body. 

 

VS just needs to find girls who are naturally gorgeous, with good porportions, who can pretend to be cute and bubbly. How hard can it be? 

  

You don't have to relate to the older models. THe VS show is full of 20 year young models. It's very usual for VS to have to older angels for a longer period of time. They aren't the centre of attention anymore, the new angels and models get way more time in the commercials and shows and the in between segments. So don't understand why you are so irritated by that. There are only a few of the older models in the show (not like the show is full of them) who would naturrally appeal more to older women; and the 20 something models would appeal to teenagers or early 20 young women. So its not like they are forcing you to like the older models. 

You describe Karolina, Mirand and Rosie, and Doutzen as goddesses but they are also 30-something. And Elsa and Candice are 28, so almost 30. 

Reading your comment it sounds like you think the older models have no shape and no waist. Well a lot of the models of VS have absolutely no shape, except for Candice and Lais. 

 

Behati became a VS model because she was already really succesfull and was excellent for PINK because she was the girl next door kind of model, she WAS cute and bubbly, later became an angel, some people think she should have stayed ambassador for Pink.

Exactly, i am 32 but the majority of my friends are younger who are early twenties or mid twenties and say they think Adriana is really beautiful and hot, and some say she isn't that beautiful anymore do think that about the young Adriana. 

 

Personally I think Adriana should leave VS, she had her days and they were good, but you should stop when its time. Also the show definately changed and feel she doens't fit in anymore. A model like Sara Sampaio could really be a similar angel that Adriana used to be.

The problem with Alessandra's body: she probably heard that all her life but somehow became supermodel, just the way Kate Moss was way to short.

 

The models are close to perfection but its difficult to have it all, like long legs, small waist, curvy + skinny.

No I didn't, but I wasn't on social media/forums/celebrity talk/ general media for a long time so that explains it I think. 

 

I watched TRA just for Elsa's opening and I'm actually not disappointed. I really like Elsa, she's one of my favorites but I thought her opening was going to be horrible, just plain out fucked up because of the dragon...but she did awesome!!! and U2!!! I like U2 a lot!!!

 

My favorite segment ever was Miranda opening PINK in 2007 I think it was because of the song LOL it was "Get Free" by The Vines...

 

I also loved the Circus one from 2012 I think because of the music, I'm not a huge fan of The Doors or Billy Idol, but I loved that mash up. I want more mash ups!!!

I'm 23 as well and nothing in this post make sense to me. The reasons why you watch the show are already an indicator that we will not agree and that we have very different opinions about this show.

I find very hard to belief that no one, no matter what age or gender, you know find Adriana attractive. If you go read the comments on The Weeknd video on youtube every single one of them are praising Adri and how hot she is. There are a lot of problems with VS these days, but Adriana it's definitely not one of them. I actually think that Adriana is one of the few things that keeps VS alive. The same applying to Alessandra, she's one of the most famous Angels.

 

The last thing i want when i watch the VSFS is to be somehow related to these models, really. I want to eat a bucket of ice-cream and look at the models flawless bodies and feel zero self-esteem. And then feel inspired or motivated by then(it will on last a couple of days). 

 

Watch goddesses showing perfect figures and faces down the runway in a few pieces of lingerie, that's why i watch, that´s why i know that most of people watch it!! Adriana, Ale, Candice and a few NA represent that(sadly not all), all the girls you said KK, Miranda, Doutzen, Rosie represent that. And maybe that's just me, but i sure can't relate to that, but i can aspire to, AND THAT SELLS! 

 

And i definitely don't want to see good proportions, cute and bubbly down the runway. I want out of this world, heavenly proportions, and sex-appeal down the runway, it's what a lingerie show it's supposed to be. And that's one of the big failures of VS these days, want relatable cute and bubbly, with natural make-up woman in the show, and i don't want to see that!

You're right, you want the heavenly unattainable model on the runway.

I think VS make some bad (significantly) choices with some of her models. Like someone has said before, they're trying too hard with all that "make that unknown gir a star" that doesn't work nowadays. IMO Romee's case works as an example, push her so hard, but nobody gives a fuck about her.

 

I'm going to sound typical but i think (besides I like them or not) they lost her chance to had girls with star power with some of this models: Barbara P(she had/have a huge fan base, was everywhere, etc), with (young) Irina, Rosie (let her go too soon), Maryna Linchuk (time ago when she was HF relevant) or Doutzen (specially known in Europe) Imaan (she had some extraordinary seasons, booking huge campaigns, adds diversity) Sasha Luss (HF killer seasons, edgy look) for example. And, of course most of SI girls who actually had a mature and sexy looks.

Sorry if I came across that way, the irritation is more from the sense that this entire show is scattered without a central focus, it's like VS knows it needs to revamp its image, but is scared to go all the way, and being pulled in different creative directions. 

I have nothing against older models at all. Actually, a lot of older models has great proportions. Doutzen would look gorgeous, had she been here. Irina looked great, even pregnant. I miss Miranda and KK in the show as well. And Anne V. They are models who naturally exudes sexiness. I always preferred Izabel Goulart to Alessandra, Ale's 50/50 body ratio always stood out, especially in every finale lineup. It grates, especially when in every casting video VS, it's mentioned that they look for good proportions in a girl. I understand that she must have worked very hard to get to where she is today, and I actually really admire her for that, but at the end of the day, there are tons are models better proportioned. And speaks better English.

Behati is charming, though her body type is one that must maintain a certain weight so that there is no belly bloat......I concur that she's a good HF model
