Boy am I glad VS ditched Poly... she was starting to act too diva-ish and it's not like VS needed her.

It's time for Adriana to hang up her wings! It's telling that even her fans want her to pack her bags. Her love affair with VS needs to end. She still looks good but she's pushing it now and acting like a hyperactive child on the VS runway is becoming annoying. It's so upsetting how stupid she looks at VS related events as opposed to others. Like the the IWC event, she looked so elegant and regal. Like two different people really. No she really needs to go home now for real. She's working so hard outside of VS now. Now is the time to leave.

I was looking for another picture thinking there was on posted other than the Mean Girls one I don't see the correlation with Bellazon either.

 

I need to see the #BodyByIza photo! It's kind of smart in my opinion, when VS airs the show and they show a clip of the wall with the girls and you see #bodybyiza on it, some people will feel compelled to search it on IG or Twitter and find Iza's accounts. Free advertising.

Sorry, I can't find the Iza pic. And yes the quote is from mean girls, I remember a few days ago someone photoshopped the angels' faces on the mean girls characters in the scene that quote is said (think it was a diss towards Iza or something.).

My aunts are in their 60s and I don't know if this applies to all Asian cultures, but a conservative Chinese idea of being pretty or beautiful is basically just a girl next door with sweet smile and polite manners. If you showed them VSFS, their first thought that comes in to mind is some girls are over the top, they will appreciate that the models have nice features, but they will throw in shit like how so and so is too skinny and what not. They can't even appreciate sassiness or being sexy (in a behavioral manner).

 

So they first came to know Adriana when I showed them VSFS2011, and I recalled Adriana being so darn tanned that year and her hair was pinned up and her make ups were kinda heavy, so she never stood out to me. And I was just casually showing my relatives the show and my aunt was like..

 

"Those Bangkok ahgua (Chinese languange, literal translation of Transgender/Cross dressers) look like that (referring to Adriana)."

 

About Iza.. I can't remember but they may have felt the same way, cause they mistook Iza for Adriana at one point. I think my nephew who was at the age of 9 last year, asked why Iza likes to flip her hair in Parisian Night, cause he said it reminded him of Sunsilk's Commercial.

 

And during the VSFS 2011 show as well, Miranda Kerr was wearing the FB, they jokingly mentioned that Malaysia (that's where I come from)'s prime minister's wife would probably buy the FB and wear (just saying how Malaysia is so corrupted that the PM could afford anything, including the FB).

 

They did like Sui and Liu from VSFS2011 though.

 

And then there's my mom, I showed her Sui He, and she said Sui wasn't beautiful *facepalms*

 

Can't show them VS. At least one of my aunts understands my love for Sui. I still fondly recall last year when I was watching Sui's Snow Angel moment, I was fanboying. My aunt was like

 

"Ohhhhh, now I can rest in piece. At least you're not gay!"

 

I am gay, but she doesn't have to know anyway.

 

But yeah, show my family VSFS, they'll probably throw in some weird comment because they have no experience watching Fashion Shows. I'd imagine if they watched Houte Couture based fashions, it's gonna get even weirder.

 

Back to Adriana, my love Adriana kinda grew over time. I don't think she's my favorite runway model, but I like that she's kinda funny and hilarious. Totally changed my perception of her being a diva when I first saw her. I like her Valentine's commercial for VS, so hilarious <3.

 

Add-on: They didn't like Todd Thomas from VSFS 2011 because they find him overly feminine.

 

Btw, anyone knows why Toni wasn't back for this year? Was she not hired? Or she had no time. I realize whenever there's Toni in a segment, there's Sui too..

I was watching the last 3 shows with my friend and his sister last week. And the sister was like, 'why do they keep showing Adriana and treat her differently/better? She's really beautiful.' And my friend told her 'that's because she's kind of the head Angel'. And I laughed because I know how much my friend loves Candice and hates Adriana for always being in the way.

And about her VS runway presence, maybe I was too narsh to say she acts like a child, over-the-top is more correct. Her parisian night opening last year was without question the strongest walk last year. It was fierce yet playful. Kinda wish she'd balance all her walks out like that. What's more annoying is you know she can do it but she doesn't.

^I think Adriana is fine, she's forgiven for behaving that way. Because honestly, I have not seen a model like Adriana whose gaze is so deep and beautiful. No matter what she does, she still leaves an impression in you. It's her eyes that makes her so attractive, that gaze.

 

Unless.. you're talking about someone like Cara then the answer is no. Cara's walk last year, on so many levels, VS should just ditch her. I never liked Cara, her British Invasion walk was fine, but then came Parisian Night and I was like "gtfo Cara".

 

And speaking of Angel camera time, I always thought VS started prioritizing Behati the moment she got engaged to Adam. This year, Candice's camera time is so little compared to the rest of the angels. Doutzen and Lindsay's just literally no time at all.
