Being a feminist doesn't mean showing your tits every given opportunity, it's just a cry for attention and tbh not all attention is good for you, especially if she's trying to transition into acting and wants to be taken seriously in the industry. And this clearly doesn't help the cause of women, they just look extremely dumb and desperate for attention.

I think a lot of you have missed the point. 

 

It's fine to criticise people for being attention-hungry or pandering to the lowest common denominator, etc. But the reaction that Kim K got to her boring censored nude selfie wasn't just criticising her for being predictable or boring, which the picture was (although in that case why were people so incensed and eager to talk about it?), they were critcising her for being a whore. People said she was a bad mother, slutty, not "pure" and demure like a mother/wife should be. That logic is a holdover from a time that no woman should be eager to revisit. I do think a lot of it was directly related to it being Kim, who inspires a lot of hate in a lot of people for a lot of legitimate reasons, but Emily herself has gotten flack for posing naked (just look at this thread! In fact, look at Schemer a few comments ago. There's not really a basis for that opinion other than she posed for Frederick's and got naked a lot. Therefore = trashy. An irrational, backwards way of thinking).

 

Emily is correct that people are screwed up in the head for attacking a woman simply for showing her body or being sexual. However, she hasn't done a great job so far of articulating her point and has aligned herself with a polarising figure who's famous for being famous. It's not the PR move I would have chosen but I have to give her credit for being true to what she believes.

Yes people should be ashamed for vomiting their hate but this is Internet and the haters will hate whatever this woman is posting/doing/tweeting/exposing. And even if I don't think Kim is a slut or a bad mother I really do not feel any empathy towards her.

 

And contrary to Schemer I think Emily is a very classy woman. Dressed or naked she looks elegant.

By making her money as a sex object, Kim Kardashian is reaffirming the roles that our culture has deemed acceptable to women.

 

The dominant culture has always allowed some individuals who are members of an oppressed class to gain wealth and success.

But that success is gained on the terms of the dominant culture.

 

e.g. C.J. Walker, a black woman, the daughter of two slaves, who managed to become independently wealthy during an era which was both incredibly sexist and racist.

Her success as an individual did not mean that life was still not very difficult for most people who shared her gender or race identity.

Those videos probably still get a ton of hits from people who dig a little further than the blurred lines video, so they probably calculated that they could profit like heck off it. It's pretty unique for a rising actress and sex symbol like her to have a fully nude shoot of her available on the internet from years before.
