That’s the impression I have and certainly not the first time I’ve noticed this kind of pattern. I completely agree with what @ptn247 said. Why not just make it a new rule “No talking about a models personal life/personal decisions in her topic”. It would certainly make it a lot easier for actual fans to come into those topics to check out their favorite models and actually seeing content instead of certain people bashing those models constantly because they think it’s fun. I don't think it is fun to bash Emily Ratajkowski I think it is very sad. Have followed her for quite a while and admired her views and spirit against idiots like Peirs Morgan. But I have sadly seen her through different eyes with this and am wondering how such an intelligent woman can be so stupid. I can no longer follow such stupidity and I wonder if her sponsors and her many fans will continue to do so too. She has lost a lot in my eyes but hey I'm just one person with these views so what do I know. You all have your own perfectly valid opinions that I respect so please respect mine too.
February 27, 20187 yr Emily is famous for getting naked & isn't really relevant in fashion or film as far as I can tell. This goes in the category of "any publicity is good publicity".

Which was why she hasn't done as well as anticipated in the fashion industry especially with SI. We have all seen the goods already---why would we want to see her covered up?
February 27, 20187 yr tbh she doesn’t get the greatest gigs and movies she’s filmed forever ago don’t even have release dates. she’s a femini$t but never $poke out again$t Donna Karan’s gro$$ Weinstein comments. Emily has no hustle so she will keep booking bit parts in movies with no distributor and modeling for denim companies no one has ever heard of. I feel pretty was moved up from a summer release to an April date idk if that’s good or bad
February 27, 20187 yr I don't know why she doesn't just embrace the bombshell route and go with it, she's got a huge male following and females seem to like her also, if she just stayed at it and did plenty of shoots she'd be one of the biggest models out there. But i guess she'd rather get small roles in movies (ironically more than often as the 'hot girl' or a character based around looks) as well as be tabloid fodder who just turns up to random red carpet events.
February 27, 20187 yr I am not sure is it her choice, b/c she does come off as a bit "passive", not to pursue larger projects or that she has a shitty agent. I agree, she is not living up to her fullest potential with projects she has been doing

Until that wave flat lines we will either see more scandalous content whether it be another steamy shoot or some publicity stunt
February 28, 20187 yr Lol gotta love it how now y’all are getting prudish and acting like it’s wrong of her to take off her clothes and do “steamy” photoshoots even though some people are only in here when she has a new nude/partially nude/“scandalous” photoshoot out

I think everyone who achieves notoriety through means that can be viewed as disreputable will face a lot of criticism. It's just human nature. The Kardashians are a perfect example. Like PinkCouture said, starting out as the naked girl was probably a mistake in the long run. It put her on the map, but at what cost?

So when she started out as the naked girl no one blinked an eye and most people seemed to be fawning over her and didn’t have any criticism because “Omg she’s so hot!” or “Omg her body! She’s amazing, can’t wait to see more pictures!!!!!” yet now she’s suddenly being criticized for it? That’s hypocrisy at its finest. All I can say is that if her being naked is suddenly a big problem in here for some people: you can always just leave and just don’t come in here if it bothers you so much that she’s naked in some of her work.

February 28, 20187 yr I’ve paid way too close attention to Emily and her friends stories are the best lens to view her through because she seems phony on her own socials like she’s always posing and very aware of herself. I’ve been critical of her for a long time around here and often annoy others bc of it but I don’t think she’s a nice person, she seems self serving and insecure but I feel like she has a little something charismatic going for her and I want her to succeed. Why can’t people have opinions? We’re not sycophants and it’s not that serious.

I agree, she is not living up to her fullest potential with projects she has been doing I don't think that's it tho. As you said, she started as a nude model which is completely fine but I'm sure a lot of clients are put off by that image, i think for sure it did put her in the map and gave her instant fame but she built her career around being hot and naked all the time which again, it's completely fine but it's off-putting to some people, I think the same happens to Josephine Skriver and we've had this discussion in the VS thread, she way she presents herself may be hurting her job options. Most of their fanbase are males, who sure will hit that follow button on Instagram, but they are not going to be buying the jeans/swimsuits/lingerie you're selling and clients know that. Also lbr, as good looking as she is, she just can't act at all. She makes Rosie Huntington-Whitley look like Meryl Streep I think she fucked up by switching to acting so fast and painfully unexperienced. She should have stayed in SI a couple more years, build a big and loyal client list and then try to move on to acting, that's why Rosie even tho can't really act either, is still on top and making all her coins, she made every right choice in the long run.
February 28, 20187 yr I wouldn’t condemn Emily posing nude as a bad career move. Steve Shaw, who founded treats!, said in the Nude documentary that Emily couldn’t get a job but after they shot her nude and with very little make-up on, she blew up. I mean, she did catalogue for Fredricks of Hollywood… So maybe doing artistic nudes was the only way to have potential clients see her in a more fashion light. However, where she might have gone overboard was insisting on posting nearly naked selfies of herself all the time. That moves her again towards more men’s magazine appeal rather than being a serious fashion model.
February 28, 20187 yr The number of crap written in this topic is huge. Cindy Crawford posed nude in a male magazine, playboy. This is not a serious model? Cameron Diase posed nude in a male magazine, playboy. This is not a serious model and actress? Bianca Balti posed nude in a male magazine, playboy. This is not a serious model ? Eva Herzigova posed nude in a male magazine, playboy. This is not a serious model ? Kate Moss posed nude in a male magazine, playboy. This is not a serious model ? etc etc. All VS girls posed nude in different men's magazines. This is not a serious model ? Obviously Emily is a recognized model, she works, she earns a living as she sees fit.
February 28, 20187 yr ^ But don’t conveniently leave out facts like how Cindy was shot by an esteemed photographer Herb Ritts, the pictures were black and white, and she had photo approval… And I’m NOT condemning Emily posing nude. However, I’m saying that her image on Instagram should have probably been a bit different to attract more blue-chip campaigns like Donna Karan…

I think all of those women were established in their field well before posing nude...
