Maybe this is VS’ way to try to respond to the criticism directed at the Angel concept.

I love the dress Negin is wearing, even if I’m super against them using these random girls for events when they have 10+ contracted girls.  Romee’s outfit looks sloppy.

What happened to all the in-store "meet the angels" events that VS used to do? I haven't seen these advertised in forever, and the VS Facebook page hasn't had any listed in a long time (and it doesn't even mention this event with Jasmine). In Los Angeles, these used to happen all the time, every few months or so. Are they still happening, and if so, where can I find out about them in advance?

They haven't really had any of those in a while. There are some in-store events with the Angels, but they're to present new collections to the press. Jas' M&G is the first I've seen advertised in a while. Jo and Martha had one a few weeks ago in Hong Kong, and there were others in China a year or so ago, before the show.

Interesting, anyone know why they stopped? Seems to me like VS just keeps slowing down and getting less exciting. 

Oh god, VS is gonna green screen stuff. I can’t wait for that incoming disaster.

There was talk that hardly anyone showed up for Taylor’s M&G while Adriana’s was popular, IIRC. Maybe VS figured that they needed to put M&Gs on pause till the “New Angels” would become household names.

 

And I guess social media's importance had an impact as well.

Hmm I'd think social media would make these more popular, not less. Can't imagine having Taylor in the house and no one showing up.

I meant VS focusing on digital content for social media instead of in-person fan interactions. By now, Taylor has probably built a fanbase that would show up but back then she was still new.

I hope they bring these events back!

I think it could be safety reasons? Imagine the amount of people that would show up to these events if VS and the girls were advertising them in social media. In some of the events -i especially recall this happening when Adriana and Candice were in the house- the lines were so long that not everyone would end up getting their chance to meeting them, which led to a whole lot of complaints from people. I can only imagine this would be much worse now that the info about the events is so available. I can see Tay, Sara and Romee getting some insane lines from teen girls.

 

The events were great for the fans for sure but it wasn't really doing anything for the brand in terms of sale anyway. Having these PR things is probably cheaper to do and gets them in the press anyway.

LBR, once you're done, you're done. VS is trying hard to sell the family thing but it's a business relationship, nothing less, nothing more. They paid her to use her image, if they stopped paying her, then thay can't use it anymore.
