do you guys know about Mitch Hedberg and Steven wright?  They have only 5 albums combined but all of it is really good.  I like Mitch's unique style.

I'm not sure I really have a list, and it depends on my mood. Here are three that came to my mind immediately, Jim Gaffigan when I need something positive. I like Mike Birbiglia, but not everyone likes that style. Demitri Martin is a lot of fun, no matter how weird his content can be. I'm sure there are others I like, and some I like more than these, but I enjoy these three.

ETA: Also, Tig Notaro.

What a coincidence, as these are the ones that I complained about in the other thread.  I am still going to finish their content due to their skills though (finished Martin's stuff today).

My favorites are Cosby, Segura, Patton, Mulaney, Mitch.

Hedberg was good, never really listened to Steven Wright.

I absolutely should have mentioned Patton and Mulaney, didn't think of them for some reason. I'm sure there are some obscure ones I like too that I'm not thinking of.

Similar styles, deadpan one-liners. You don't see it a lot. I assume it's because it's more difficult than it looks.

I don't always check this thread, so I probably missed it. Comedy is very subjective, you never know what you might like.

They're pretty much in the same area as jkjk mentioned- fast paced one-liners and bringing the audience into a surreal, metaphysical journey.

I really like how Hedburg brings the audience into a good mood and doesn't seem like he's trying too hard.  Very zen, and all about being and breaking apart the present moment.  I have  strong hunch that he couldn't have written some of that material without his use of drugs.

Yep. I've been doing the "one-liner" comedians recently.  They have to write and memorize a huge number of non-sequitur jokes & then rapidly pull them out in improv situations.  The jokes have to be quick to understand and create a cartoon effect.

Henny Youngman was the original king of the one-liner.   I like Don Rickles (insult comic, friar's club) and his successor, Jeff Ross (insult comic).  Rickles is much better than Ross.

I did a master list and have been running through them.  What I personally found is that I don't enjoy or am neutral about the overwhelming majority of the comedians but gravitate to a couple that share some similar traits.  It's probably the same for most people.

Mulaney is ridiculously relatable, like he was one of my peers.  Patton reminds me of my college best friend.

Steven’s flavor of humor is very much like my own.

Very very true!

Ok, this goes for people who are in Chile right now:
I hope you are all ok and have not been attacked by police violence or affected due to damage to the city. Please be careful if they go out. I live near the center and I have seen from the rooftop how everything has been violent and protesters have been run over and stoned. If you are going to protest, be cautious and do not harm small businesses or properties of middle class people. Any information or if you need anything, PM me.

It's incredible how this has escalated...

Hope it's all okay with you too.

This has been escalating since Wednesday.

And now we have military in the streets. The incompetence of the government at handling this so far has been remarkable.

Edit: The fire was mostly in the building's external emergency stair, not the building itself.
