Scoop: Kate Upton Will Front Vogue‘s June Cover!

This year is shaping up to be even bigger than the last for Kate Upton, as we have word straight from Samsung that she will be be covering the June issue of US Vogue.

The two-time Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl will be in town shilling for Samsung’s Spring TV launch next week, and we received a tip for an interview opportunity containing the following juicy little tidbit of information:

“Kate Upton can chat about her upcoming Vogue cover in June, where she’s taking her bikini for Spring Break after shooting the SI cover in Antarctic…and maybe do the Dougie!”

Alas, we don’t think Anna Wintour will be Dougie-ing about this one. And to think, she was having SUCH a good week…

We’ve reached out to Condé Nast for comment and will update when we receive a response.

UPDATE: A spokesperson from Condé Nast has responded that they do not comment on future editorial, so it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see!

O.o no offense to Irina fans, this is just an observation, but she's apparently Satan when it comes to dealing with animals?

Kate's tiger is relaxed and happy, he's in the same position he'd be in so his mother could to pick him up

Irina's tiger looks like it wants to kill her, claws out, clearly making distressed noises, and his ears are back.

Kate's baby primate is holding her, like he would with his mother. He or she is clearly very comfortable with Kate and likes her.

Irina's three primates are making minimal attempt to hold onto her. Primates love connection when they're comfortable, it gives them self insurance, self insurance they're clearly lacking with Irina.

Serval's are neurotic as an overall. Kate holds hers close which is good for him, Irina holds hers at a distance (which can piss it off quickly) and listens her bicep? lolz wut?

Psst baby bottle goes near mouth, not ear or eye. Claws out, pushing bottle away....

Kate - Animal Friendly

Irina - O.o?

And YAY for Kate's cover :)

Haha thanks for the laugh :D, I think it's mainly for the attitude they are trying to portray that happens to be what the animal reacts to, Irina posing in this shoot is too strict and giving very in your face attitude that alarms the animal whereas Kate is giving a soft stare and more relaxed posing.

^ i think it will be...vogue will need some redemption after Kristie Clement's expose...and what better to say they aren't using models that eat tissue paper or need a drip...then to use the best curves in the industry?

Why does Kate's editorial look almost identical to Irina Harper's Bazaar editorial? Same clothing for the most part, same background, same animals. One just look like Peta's wetdream with clothes, and the other looks like the models don't give a shit about their props.

No apparently they're part of the same shoot. Called The Animal Nursery. Or that's what a bunch of different sites are saying. It's a 16 page editorial featuring Kate, Irina and the other girls that will be featured in all 26 publications of Harper's Bazaar over the next few months. o.0

Not sure how those pictures are going to fit in with the Irina shoot... they whole feel between the two girls and the animals they're holding are so polar opposite o.0

Carine Roitfeld's second editorial as global fashion director of Harper's Bazaar came out today, and shows a familiar cast of characters — namely, Kate Upton and several baby animals, just like Carine's debut issue of CR Fashion Book. Hey, if it worked before, it'll work again! Monkeys are Carine's thing these days, it seems.

Titled "The Animal Nursery," the sixteen-page spread shows Upton as well as Irina Shayk, Senait Gidey, Tilda Lindstam, and Soo Joo Park wearing outfits from the pre-fall collections as they tend to small critters under a beige tent in the middle of a field. They also wear nurse caps and stethoscopes, giving the pictures a Richard Prince–meets–Out of Africa vibe. In an e-mail, Roitfeld tells the Cut, "The shoot was a dream come true because I had never held a baby monkey and baby tigers before." (She has, however, had extensive experiences with a baby pygmy pig, so she's just working her way up the food chain.)

As for Upton, who posed for CR's first cover last year with fluffy little chicks clutched to her bosom, the editor says, "Kate was so incredible, very cool. She was the most relaxed out of all the girls with the animals. You can tell she feels very connected to nature. I was very surprised how wholesome she is."

Shot in Miami by Sebastian Faena, the spread features many of the same designers as Roitfeld's first one did, including Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Céline, Chanel, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton, and Alexander Wang — all her "fwiends" again, in other words. It'll come out in all 26 international editions of the magazine over the next few months.
