IMO all the girlst deserve the cover ... But Daniella (2005) & Brooklyn (2006) have been doin' SI since ever, so they deserve the honors better then Esti who is doin' SI just for the second time? ... Some girls just do SI for years & they don't get as much attention as they should like Ana BB ... & well, Brooklyn made some more stuff for SI, like hosting parties, the iPhone thing, all the videos thing & blablabla

& well, im the happiest girl ever if she does get the cover 'cuz i love her ... But if is not her then Irina, Bar or Hilary would be good for me, & like i said im not a huge fan of Daniella but she's been doin' SI for a while now so i won't be upset if it's her ... Just not Jessica White or Julie Henderson >.<

I've visited a lot of model threads on this site. Some I've commented in, most I haven't. I have never once visited Brookyln Decker's until today and I didn't stay long. If I want to look at pictures of a stunning, curvy blonde, there are much more - enticing - choices than Brooklyn. So, in that sense, I don't really see the appeal. Granted, if I met her in real life I'd be blown away, but that's an understood fact about the difference between internet gawking and genuine relationships. So count me in the "she's a bargain basement Marisa Miller" camp.

But all that being said and my disclaimer, whoever gets the cover is totally irrelevant to me. As long as the girls in the mag and on the website are hot, it's all good.

I can name two reason, valid reasons Brooklyn snagged the cover this year. MJ adores her, and they are really good friends IRL. For those of you who don't know who MJ is, she is the Senior Associate Editor for SI. [ie she has sway on who gets the cover] Guess it pays to be friends with the boss right?

From day one of MJ's twitter posts on SI Swim she spoke highly of Brooklyn.... jesus it was ass kissing on an epic level. Damn she's PRO

Chances are MJ, the SI staff, and Brooklyn knew 6+ months ago who was going to be on the cover... which is kinda sad. From day one SI used to make the models wait till a day before the cover was revealed before they knew who recived it.

I am in the exact same situation, the cover is quite irrelevant to me as long there are good pictures of Irina and Daniella mainly.

And the biggest disappointment was the absence of Kim Cloutier this year.

I think MJ Day had more stuff about Julie Henderson than w/Brooklyn ... Actually all the girls got some love, but she really really seems to love Julie i truly believe that there's a chance for Julie this year & if is not this year, then next year

i really don't want a blond to get the cover, i'm tired of seen only blond in the cover the previous year. i want a burnet to be in the cover. i'm sure brooklyn is going to get the cover, i don't like her and i have never like her, and i am never going to like her, i don't see anything great about her. i don't find her attractive, she looks older than her age, she looks like she's in her early 30's. i really want to see a burnet, burnet are more exotic.

As for the cover ... I'm not privy to seeing all the photos taken this year, so who's to say who had the best pictures. Irina, Daniella, or anyone could the woman could of had an amazing shoot and landed the cover.

One thing that IS required to snag the cover is marketability! Does Irina have it? imo no, at least not by US standards. She's a pretty woman, however her accent could be deterrent, that is to say I'm not sure she'd do well on Late Night or any of the public events where she needs to speak a lot. Takes a hell of a lot more to land a cover then just being pretty and knowing your body and how to work it. Based on the FEW SI rookie pics I've seen, if I had to pick just from that group for the cover I'd say....Sonia Dara. Beautiful speaking voice, engaging personality, lovely picture.
