Leonardo DiCaprio Dances to Kanye West in West Hollywood

Leonardo DiCaprio may have lost the Golden Globe for his role in Django Unchained, but that didn't stop the actor from enjoying himself a few nights later.

Alongside best friend Lukas Haas, DiCaprio visited West Hollywood hot spot Bootsy Bellows on Tuesday night.

Donning a newsboy hat, DiCaprio mingled with club promoters, while Haas did "his own thing," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "Leo hung back and sat on top of the banquette. He was getting a ton of attention from the ladies."

The usually quiet DiCaprio was "upbeat" and "even danced and clapped along" as music from Jay-Z and Kanye West played. And when the actor was approached by other clubgoers, he was "very gracious and chatted with them for a few minutes," the source adds.

Once the lights came on, the two friends reconvened to figure out their plans for the rest of the night.

Like you not sure why people are always surprised to discover Leo is tall.

And I know you haven't seen Django Unchained yet, but the moment in the movie that Calvin stands up to formally shake Schultz's hand , you can tell how much taller he is than Waltz/Schultz

Also in same scene when he crosses the room to talk with Django, you notice how much taller he is than Foxx and James Remar who plays Butch.

Also Jan. 26, the festival will roll out a gala salute and screening of "No," an Oscar nominee for best foreign film and Chile's official Academy Awards entry. Director Pablo Lorraín and star Gael Garcia Bernal are slated to attend the gala.

The second week features similar tributes and awards for three Oscar-nominated actresses — Wallis on Jan. 29, Amy Adams on Jan. 31 and Jennifer Lawrence of "Hunger Games" fame on Feb. 2. Adams is up for best supporting actress for "The Master," her fourth nomination, as she continues to build an impressive résumé of gutsy choices and more mainstream roles. Lawrence joins Wallis among five contenders in the lead actress Oscar category for her Golden Globe-winning turn as a troubled young woman in "Silver Linings Playbook." Lawrence was previously nominated for 2010's "Winter's Bone."

The other celebrity tribute that week is Leonardo DiCaprio, who will pick up an award on Feb. 1 but needs no introduction in Santa Barbara. His 2005 crowd-pleasing tribute produced a red-carpet frenzy.

OMG girls I'm translating an interview that Fotogramas, a spanish magazine, did to Jamie Foxx last year while he was promoting Django in Cancun. tbh I'm really surprise to learn that he could said this about Leo. :/

Just the mention about Leo:

There were rumors of clashes between Tarantino and Leonardo DiCaprio on the set ... In the press conference the actor has not been and have not confirmed or denied anything ...

We are presenting a movie, a great movie ... It took a lot to make it, even I think Quentin has some new unresolved additional scenes to close the shoot (NOTE: one would be to Jonah Hill, who closed the deal with Quentin right here in Cancun during another night party).

Everything that happened shooting, it's over. True, DiCaprio, who is here, could help the team to be with you the press, and not just take a picture and get out ... Each one is as it is, man ... True that with Quentin he had very large differences, a lot. One time, the dialogue was made with the fists and thank God that the weapons were not actually charged. Everything returned to calm, but I did not understand what happened. There are some capricious guys that believe they are more because they have worked with Scorsese ...

I read in spanish and understand what Jamie is referring to, that time Leo posed for the pics but didn't gave interviews to the press in Cancun, ok. Leo must had his reasons to skip the press and he just had started filming... I remember that event in Cancun was in april and he start to shoot in march in New Orleans if I'am not mistaken, what he would say at that time? Ok, Jamie can think whatever he wants but I don't see why he feel the need to be that ironic and accuse Leo of being arrogant with that unfortunate line about Scorsese, because we all know that Leo is such a humble person. Honestly didn't understand Jamie because he and Leo seems so friendly and he always said such nice things about Leo... :idk:

To me some of the comments in the article belong to the writer not Jamie as per the complaint that Leo didn't take a lot of pix with the press , we recall comments like that at the time they were in Cancun coming from tabloid press.

Plus to me the last statement is the press guy's comment

"There are some capricious guys that believe they are more because they have worked with Scorsese " not Jamie's

Plus if Jamie did say there was a big verbal blowup between Leo/Tarantino, we know it somehow never hit the US press , and with all the tweets we saw from people who worked as extras on the film during the time of filming , one would think that such events would have eventually surfaced.

So one has to wonder how accurate the statements attributed to Jamie are .
