I still couldn't see that video of the Gatsby filming... :( :( never load that or my internet is quite slow.

I want to see some pics of Leo with Carey soo much, just to see how they look together.

Leonardo DiCaprio delivers as J. Edgar Hoover (and wea're glad!)

Who would have believed it? Leo DiCaprio has briskly pulled off what seemed to be a gargantuan task; to bring to the silver screen the personality, gravitas and evolution of J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood's biopic of the same name, "J. Edgar" which opened on theaters this past Friday.

The young actor, though possessing the necessary vigor to be imperious on screen (as seen in 2004's "The Aviator" and in 2010's "Inception" to name a few), was way off road in terms of physical similarities (J. Edgar Hoover, despite his enormous power, was not what you would call "a leading man"), and also their respective temperaments didn't seem to jibe; J. Edgar Hoover being a choleric individual par excellence, and Leo DiCaprio a gifted Melancholic. Furthermore, whoever was going to portray J. Edgar on screen, needed to beat the effortless and graceful performance by Bob Hoskins when he played J. Edgar Hoover in Oliver Stone's 1995 movie "Nixon"

Under the direction of Clint Eastwood, Leo brings the overbearing (and later in life, slightly overweight) mystique of J. Edgar Hoover to life, as the man who changed the face of law enforcement in the United States, by transforming the FBI into the leading agency of its kind in the world.

But the tricky part of telling the story of the man who led the Bureau for 48 years is how to condense half a century of exploits and involvement in some of history's most notorious events, especially when the man in question has had a direct involvement in the majority of them.

From the fight against Bolshevism and Anarchism in his early years, to fighting gangsters in the Prohibition Era, or being the keeper of dirty secrets of Presidents and figures like Martin Luther King Jr, J. Edgar's life cannot be conveyed in the scope of one single movie lasting a little over two hours. Thus, history buffs will be understandably left wanting for more. We can at least be content that Clint Eastwood seemed to know exactly which items of contention he could not gloss over.

J. Edgar Hoover's feud with Robert Kennedy, his wiretaps of Martin Luther King's illicit affairs, his scandalous possession of dirty files on everyone, and his secretive liaison with aide Clyde Tolson. Clint Eastwood even manages to pursue the unknown face of the personal Hoover by depicting his relationship with his mother, a relationship that Leo conveys with tremendous power and empathy.

To close, "J. Edgar" is one of the films of the year, and the perfect way for Leo to celebrate his 37 birthday (which was November 11); though he might receive his gift belatedly, at Oscar night.

Lainey is so unhappy in her comments, how someone can get paid for it?Tell me?

For me she is so jealous of the talent and success of others...she makes it clear for us,but come on...Leo is bigger than all that. Tks for The Great Gatsby pics,Leo looks damn gorgeous!!!

thanks for another good review princess, oh loved the last line: though he might receive his gift belatedly, at Oscar night. I hope so!

Oooh. The pics of him on location. UNF. HOT. He looks dapper as hale.

Also, I think Leo would die of embarrassment if he were Sexiest Man Alive. I highly doubt it's anything near what he wants. I hope to god he's never chosen for the cover guy or whatever. I mean, being mentioned in the magazine as being sexy is great and all. But doing a cover? No, Leo. No. But I think there would be like a -1% chance he'd ever do it.

And I hate when people say Leo went from being a heartthrob to being taken as a serious actor. I MEAN. DID NO ONE SEE: THIS BOY'S LIFE, WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE, TOTAL ECLIPSE, THE BASKETBALL DIARIES, OR MARVIN'S ROOM pre Titanic and Romeo & Juliet? Dude was already being taken as a serious actor and then went into that heartthrob phase for a bit and then went back into being taken as a serious actor who is hot as hell. IT DRIVES ME INSANE WHEN PEOPLE ACT LIKE LEO'S CAREER JUST STARTED AFTER HE DID TITANIC. It's a pet peeve of mine. Especially when the dude was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape! So, it's not like he was doing like insane indie, indie movies that were never seen ever. The reason why he has the career he now has (that no one else can touch - Brad tries but he's not a good enough actor, Matt tries but he's not hot enough nor does he have THAT THING Leo does....lol) is because he started off being extremely respected and heralded as this amazing young actor and then came the insane fame and love/lust of the public. So? He has both at extreme levels. Which is what makes Leo differ from others, imho. Others try. But they just don't have that combination that he does. It's rather unheard of to already have critical acclaim backing before you become poster status. I think that's why Leo has created and managed his career so excellently after the massive success of Titanic.

Top 10 Best Martin Scorsese Films

10. Gangs of New York (2002)

Although its a little bloated for sure, Martin Scorsese’s tale of the 19th Century greed and corruption that birthed New York is teeming with rich historical detail and atmosphere, not to mention a riveting performance by Daniel Day-Lewis as Native gang leader Bill the Butcher. Gangs of New York was Scorsese’s long-gestating dream project, and attacked with aplomb. The entire movie bristles with energy and tells a fascinating story about a chapter in American history that is mostly overlooked. After two and a half heartfelt hours of blood, sweat, and tears from the colorful denizens of New York’s early criminal underworld, Scorsese shows the graves of these men deteriorating and mossing over in full view of the Manhattan skyline. It’s a poignant and fitting ending.

9. Shutter Island (2010)

Yes, it contains one of the more obvious twist endings in recent memory, but Shutter Island has enough Gothic atmosphere, deep emotional scar tissue, and surreal reality-shifting to be anything but a plot-driven thriller. In fact, the twist itself has another plot point at the end that gives it even more emotional resonance. It’s almost as if Scorsese was saying, “Yeah, you saw that coming, but let’s examine what that twist means for this guy.” The film feels like a straight up gothic horror picture; a sort of highbrow-yet-grotesque modern-day Val Lewton B-movie. Leonardo DiCaprio plays a haunted man searching for answers in a an isolated insane asylum, and Scorsese is firing on all cylinders with rich production design and surrealistic montages that put the audience in the head of its conflicted protagonist. For all its style, Shutter Island plays the emotional truth of DiCaprio’s character and ends up being a truly satisfying tragedy.

6. The Departed (2006)

Apart from being a technical marvel with great performances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Jack Nicholson, The Departed is also a bleak and terrifying study of cyclical violence. Both sides of the law are intensely dedicated to seeing their team win, and the psychological toll on the main players is almost unbearable. Di Caprio in particular turns in a remarkably harrowing performance that was stupidly passed over for Oscar recognition that year in favor of the histrionics of Blood Diamond. The streets of South Boston are a battlefield, with soldiers in both armies losing their lives for an ideal that becomes more corrupted and increasingly devoid of honor. The blaring classic-rock soundtrack, energetic editing, and local color add even more life to a film that’s already up to its ears in style and panache. Even with an inordinate amount of plot and style, however, Martin Scorsese keeps his story focused on the characters, and that is why it’s eminently re-watchable

4. The Aviator (2004)

Yes, The Aviator is a biopic, and that’s not necessarily a genre of films known for innovation. But Martin Scorsese frames his story of Howard Hughes around one very specific time period: Hughes’ early years in Hollywood. Scorsese’s fractured American dream explores Hughes the dreamer, a man who had a brilliant aviation mind and drive for perfection that frequently led to self-destruction. Leonardo DiCaprio grows into the role as the film progresses, and we get glimpses of the mental illness that would so cripple the eccentric millionaire in his later years. With a quick look from a character or a subtle camera movement, Scorsese conveys deeper meanings that the time constraints of a film don’t allow. DiCaprio is so restrained and natural as Hughes that it’s easy to overlook the magnitude of this performance — the actor is in almost every scene in the two-and-a-half-plus film. Scorsese films each decade in a different color hue and contrast (nice touch), but its his ability to keep a film that covers so much historical ground firmly rooted in Hughes’ personal story that gives The Aviator an emotional whallop that’s quite unexpected

Leo is not only Titanic or Jack Dawson! Leo is much more than that, though I agree that 50% of its success is due to the fact that he participated and he was there with those blue eyes...he was a prince charming! This poster takes me back to my 14 years... :cry2: ,good times...

Leo was always an actor but at the same time he was an extremely handsome boy and that bothers many people.

Hey girls, have you ever seen this pic of Leo before with his mom?

Leonardo DiCaprio is delighted with a new angel

Leonardo DiCaprio, who has a past filled with loving beauties like Gisele Bundchen, Bar Rafaeli and until recently, Blake Lively, has a new goal: the angel Karlie Kloss.

A source revealed to have "NY Post", the actor would have been delighted with the beauty of Victoria's Secret model during a fashion show of designer last week.

He would attempt to mimic the girl after the event, but without success. Apparently, Karlie Kloss is appointed as the new girlfriend of singer Joe Jonas.
