Blake Lively visits beau Leonardo DiCaprio in Australia

SYDNEY -- Blake Lively took a trip Down Under to visit new love Leonardo DiCaprio while he films "The Great Gatsby" in Sydney, the Herald Sun reported Wednesday.

Lively was forced to celebrate her 24th birthday solo last week and so DiCaprio arranged for a belated birthday celebration at Sydney hotspot, Aria, Saturday night.

After the weekend festivities, they were spotted together at Sydney's Featherdale Wildlife Park Tuesday, where staff arranged a VIP visit for the lovebirds.

"They were both so nice and down to earth. There was certainly no diva behavior. Leo was asking about the endangered animals," the park's marketing manager Kellie Ames told the Herald Sun.

"Blake was absolutely beautiful," Ames added about the lovely "Gossip Girl" star, dressed in jeans, a floral top and camel colored fedora for the zoo visit.

The secretive pair were first rumored to be a couple in May, getting cozy on the French Riviera during the Cannes Film Festival and they then extended their European sojourn for a dreamy vacation in Italy.

DiCaprio, 36, and the fashionable actress continued their romance stateside, spending time together in New York, where they were pictured riding bikes together.

The Academy Award nominee traveled to Australia in August to begin work on his title role of Jay Gatsby in Baz Luhrmann's film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic tale.

The movie also stars Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan and Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway.

Thansks for People article & Titanic article :)

As I said before what amazes me the most is not that the paps haven't taken more pix, but that these people tweet that Leo is in same restaurant/aquarium , but none of them haven taken a picture with their cellphone and tweeted it . Maybe that is just something US tweeters do :dontgetit::dontgetit::dontgetit:

Gosh, a Chipmunk verison of Gilbert Grape, thanks :)

Funny gif someone made of the moment when Leo met Austin the koala bear at Wildlife Park

It's good to hear that Oxford! :) But I think Leo reveals that.

Loved the gif!

Hey,just read this article and thought it cool, lemme show you.

There are celebrities who fight throughout his youth for a place in the sun in Hollywood. But there is also the talent that exudes from a young age and that's what happened to the actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who began his career at 16 years on television, and 18 came to the big screen and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

That the actor didnt go unnoticed was the fact. But what most caught the attention of film directors were not only beautiful blond hair and blue eyes or the boy's fascinating. DiCaprio was a real actor. Proof of this was when he was invited to star in "Romeo and Juliet," a drama that cast him as the golden boy of Hollywood. Soon after came the classic "Titanic," which provided the first nomination for Best Actor at the Golden Globes. With "The Aviator" and "Blood Diamond" actor was nominated for an Oscar as Best Actor.

Clearly, success, fame, beauty and simplicity brought many women to the boy's life. The team of pussycats who have hitched affair with Leo is not weak. These include Liv Tyler, Gisele Bundchen, Bar Refaeli and Blake Lively.

is this a deleted scene on this gif? I don't remember this part...

Some people are not as hardcore as us? I've been in this situation many times and I can tell you it's not as easy as it seems. You have to be quick, not worried about getting caught and offending the person you admire, and not caring what anyone you're with thinks about you turning paparazzo. :p

Ed Westwick on working on J. Edgar...

Daily Telegraph

GOSSIP Girl star Ed Westwick looked every bit the too-cool celeb hottie while posing with grid girls on his lightning trip Down Under for the F1 Grand Prix in March. Yet only a week earlier he'd finished shooting on the most knee-trembling job of his career so far.

"Working with the likes of Clint Eastwood and Leonardo DiCaprio, it's what people dream to do," Westwick says.

The 24-year-old lived the dream on J. Edgar, director Eastwood's biopic of cross-dressing FBI boss J. Edgar Hoover. Bursting with quality actors, including DiCaprio as Hoover, Naomi Watts and Judi Dench, it's no surprise the film is due out just in time for Oscar season.

Westwick plays Agent Smith, the rookie picked by Hoover to write his biography. While such a job radiates intimidation, Westwick says it was just that - a job. "I treated it like any other job ... It's a different project, but I approach it in the same professional manner. I know what's expected of me and what I expect of other people "What have I taken away from it? It reminds me of where I want to be, consistently.

Thanks for the Ed Westwick quote about Leo and Clint. Its always nice to hear those

And yeah, wijn, I don't know if I would want to be leos bodyguard just because you can't just hang out with him all day, you have to protect him, and it sounds hard! LOL I'd rather be his personal assistant :blush:

And no Barbie, I don't remember that scene either!

Leonardo DiCaprio's eco home cold on privacy

OF all the seven-bedroom waterfront properties in Sydney, there's a reason Leonardo DiCaprio picked this one.

The environmental activist - who is starting to be known as much for his stance against global warming as his acting - handpicked the grand eastern suburbs domicile because it is one of the only pseudo-carbon neutral homes within the city limits, Confidential has learned.

Known as a domestic combination heating project, the house was fitted out by power-preserving company Urban Energy with a high-tech solar energy system, which enables the whole dwelling, including hot water, pool and spa, to be heated from one dedicated source.

The scheme was commissioned three years ago by long-time owners Gillian and Alastair Walton (the chairman of investment bank firm BKK Partners), who are privately leasing their place to DiCaprio during his Great Gatsby stay.

The luxury eco home also welcomed DiCaprio's girlfriend Blake Lively during her brief visit this week - yesterday she was back on the set of Gossip Girl in New York.

Obviously the house was a perfect fit for the man who recently bought a $100,000 hybrid super car.

However, Leo is looking to move and spent last week searching for something a little more private - mostly penthouses - in an attempt to kick the camera lenses watching his every move.

Rumour has it a flock of screaming girls recently rocked up to the house.

Our spies say the Oscar nominee - who has lobbied hard for universal access to clean water and reducing fossil fuel emissions over the years - has inspected suites at the Gazebo in Elizabeth Bay, the Shangri-La, Four Seasons and the InterContinental.

In 2007 he released The 11th Hour, a documentary he created, produced and narrated, on global warming.

You bring up many good points about the art of twitpix. Therefore, I shall , from this moment forward, be kinder to my fellow Aussie

fans when they experience a Leo sighting .:hug:

Also, thanks, for Ed Westwick article. :)

Barbie

Thanks for RR gif. In the scene we do see Kate appear at door, but the camera cuts away before Leo appears, so it is a deleted scene :)

Wijn

Thanks for bodyguard link. I'm sure lots of women have had that fantasy, tho, it would soon turn into him having to protect himself from his protector.

Kat

Yes, I like the idea of personal assistant. Infact, I wonder, if it was his personal assistant who went ahead and checked out rental homes for him. Plus, it would seem like his personal assistant would be the person who sets up things like Wildlife Park VIP tour or dinner reservations for him.

I wonder who the person is ????

Aomg

Thanks for Sydney Confidential article :)

But I have to laugh, as they are saying he desires to move to obtain more privacy , yet, they then proceed to name all the locales he is considering moving to.

is this a deleted scene on this gif? I don't remember this part...

Article about newest Gatsby cast member Brendan MacLean. I love his comments about Leo

brendan.jpg

The Aussie contingent on Baz Luhrmann's Gatsby adaptation has grown with the addition of an unexpected local talent that you might know for other things besides acting. Joining Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher and model Gemma Ward is triple j presenter, musician and human tweet machine Brendan Maclean, who has been cast as soulless Gatsby hanger-on Klipspringer. We had a quick chat to Brendan about how he was cast and what his experience on set has been like so far.

Hey Brendan, so what did the casting process involve? Casting for Gatsby ran over about two months. I saw a lot of huge names walk in and out of the casting office. When I got the call-back I almost vomited when I walked in to find Baz Luhrmann, sitting cooly on the lounge. He didn't have a script so we just improvised a phone call and talked about Australian music for about an hour. The waiting almost did me in, one day I just couldn't bring myself to get out of bed - finally I got an email from Baz, "I hope you'll join us in the role of Klipspringer". I screamed for a little and went to a friend to see if I had read the email correctly before running madly through the street.

How has your time on set been so far? We've had a few days on set, everything I'm doing is on Fox. It's a Baz film, so the sets will blow your mind. I'm an attention whore so I'm adoring the costume and make-up women who are truly the most glamorous in the film business. Everyone probably knows now that the big names have arrived; Leonardo, Tobey, Carrie are all darlings. Honestly, Leo is like a big kid. Cheeky, always laughing when things get too serious. You always know when the big three are in because paparazzi line the gates, they're like piranhas. But on set - they go out of their way to just be apart of the cast.
