  1. Elon Musk's team worked with Hollywood to design the spacesuit. It's actually a pretty good suit, it's the color that makes it ugly. Former suits were orange, which is a very visible color that you can easily spot, when for example an astronaut is lost in the ocean. Gagarin's SK-1 spacesuit was nice. This guy had balls. He went to space at a time when nobody knew what it was, many thought that he was gonna die.
  2. Yes and they really take readers for fools with some of their clickbaits, like when their link says "Hubble, it exploded" and the real article is "Hubble budget exploded".... There are a couple of websites that I "relatively" trust, but only for a couple of minutes per day (like when I wake up in the morning).
  3. The media are getting trashier every day. It's a vicious circle: their incompetence generates disaffection which makes them trashier in order to get people back... Clickbait is what the media look for, and, what's more clickbait than hatred and division? They are golden opportunities for these scavengers. Local newspapers are the only ones that are still holding up somehow.

  8. I love it All in all, it's pretty accurate. I don't understand why it advises to say "vous" to a prince, because we don't bow down to royalty Also, I'm pretty sure an American guy wrote it, because we don't say "Le google". Where did you find this?
  9. Emily and Hannah: - Two songs (here and here) - Four boobs - Two jades and two lapis-lazuli - A thousand smiles - Two oceans of kindness - One great voice Tough choice, but easy choice at the same time Who's gonna decide their fate?
  10. It's funny because Star Trek is usually considered as Sci-fi with some scientific basis, but... most of the stuff they say (in physics and also geology, biology, etc.) don't really make sense (given what we know). Of course, we don't care, because it's a fiction, so any new laws can be inventend and the suspension of disbelief works, but... sometimes the ST laws contradict themselves Star Wars doesn't rely much on our world's science (for example, lightsabers don't really make sense... they're not lasers and they could be some kind of plasma torches, but that wouldn't make sense, you could disable them with a magnet really easily). If Star Wars work it's because it's far far away and it's the right mix between fantasy, science-fiction. It's like old myths and tales, with both European and Far Eastern influences (the Jedi design was heavily influenced by the samurai) Anyway, I'm rambling on again.
  11. So do I. That's also why I like astronomy, astrophysics and... space operas (like Star Trek, Star Wars, The Expanse or The Orville).
  12. It is a good thing, to be used with parsimony I think. I used to work with Chinese and my French-Chinese colleague explained me that in the Chinese culture people rarely admit that they're wrong in order to "keep face". It's probably a bit "too much" (and it can be annoying), but I understand (at least partly) the basis behind this logic. I like Far Eastern cultures (though some of them are really complicated). Japan is probably my favorite. Yep, that's how they work. I recently watched a Star Trek episode with a con artist and even in other species that's how they work
  13. I didn't know you liked space missions. It's great. I really like Elon Musk and what he's achieved. Believing in your dreams and combining intution/reason is often the right method.
  14. I didn't, I just hit the submit button by mistake after writing my first sentence. Now, I think I finished saying what I had to say.
  15. Far right activists are crazy and I don't like them either, but they're usually more silent, because we all know they're crazy. On the other hand, far left activists have a lot of support in the media, social media, etc. that's why they feel more confident in attacking other people. They think they have legitmacy. Also, people forgot what happened in the USSR, China, Cambodia (the khmers rouges were one of the worst of the worst), that's why far left activists (who are usually younger) think that they are reasonable. On the other hand, we all remember WW2. Well, you shouldn't depreciate yourself. You have a lot of things to bring to yourself and others.

  17. I think that people do listen to each other, even when they seemingly don't. Level headed arguments are always listened. That doesn't mean that people will instantly change their opinions, but debate and discussions are the best way to build a real reflection. People really stop listening when it becomes personal IMO. In any case, self-censoring eventually leads to the weakening of reflection. (I hope it makes sense and it's just my opinion anyway )
  18. Well, here's what I think. It's nothing controversial, but it's fine if you don't want to reply. PS: Candace is exactly the type of person I like, not because of her political opinions, but because she's kind hearted and defends her ideas firmly without attacking people. PS2: BZ talks about models, culture, etc. Since political issues are now in cultural products (not because we chose it, but because the industry forced it), it seems fair that people want to talk about it.
