  1. Found this insta account with some beautiful Titanic art. ๐Ÿ’™ Some of her illustrations even made it into this book More Leo Source: https://www.instagram.com/nady.navy/
  2. Tarantino movie update Since Leo regrets not making BOOGIE NIGHTS since today this might be interesting for him afterall. Even though he looks nothing like this guy but when did the lack of physical resemblance ever stopped Hollywood? Tarantino Hints That โ€˜The Movie Criticโ€™ is Based on William Margold and โ€œWonโ€™t Be A Revenge Storyโ€ The Quentin Tarantino โ€œCinema Speculationโ€ book tour continues on in Europe. Next stop: Barcelona, Spain. What we do know so far about his next film, โ€œThe Movie Critic,โ€ is that it will be shot this fall, the story is set in Los Angeles circa 1977, and the lead protagonist is male. Tarantino gave us some brand new clues in Barcelona last night, insinuating that this isnโ€™t going to be a revenge story like all of the films heโ€™s made the last 20 years. โ€œThere is a lot of speculation about who it is based on. And yes, he is a real critic, but he is not known [โ€ฆ] it will also not be what you might call a โ€œrevenge storyโ€. Letโ€™s give you a brief history about why I believe this next film is about William Margold. Tarantinoโ€™s writings under the pseudonym of Jim Sheldon on the New Beverly website have gone totally under the radar. This made-up character is said to be a critic for the Hollywood Press (a cheap 70's porno magazine that featured mainstream movie criticism). Tarantino has, more or less, admitted that Sheldon is based on William Margold โ€” who he brings up in his book โ€œCinema Speculationโ€ during the chapter on Paul Schraderโ€™s โ€œHardcoreโ€. In the final years of his life, Margold had his own blog where he mentioned how Tarantino was an avid fan of his film criticsm. Margold claimed that Tarantino was obsessed with Hollywood Press and LA Xpress for 30 years, but he himself has admitted to hating Tarantino's movies. Along with being a film critic, Margold was also the former director of the Free Speech Coalition and a co-founder of X-Rated Critics Organization and Fans of X-Rated Entertainment. He was a self-proclaimed โ€œporn historian.โ€ Remember this post. I am almost certain that this next Tarantino film, supposedly his final one, is going to be based on Margold. Source More input

  6. Literally no one has a filmography on the level Leo has. But on the other hand he's barely working compared to his fellas. Like someone here pointed out not long ago he only made 2 movies this decade. It's hard to make bad decisions with so little. Also define "bad" lol It's also more common than some may think that many actors/actresses are making some movies/shows just for cash and nothing else.

  8. I actually like period dramas like Atonement, Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Bridgerton, Titanic etc but this one was just dull. Nothing new, nothing special. Never watched Boogie Nights. I'm not a big Mark Wahlberg fan ๐Ÿ˜‚

  13. After AIR being the next big box office bomb people are guessing once again if Leo can save the adult drama genre with KOTFM. @Lilja K most people actually don't think so because of its length. Ben Affleckโ€™s โ€˜Airโ€™ Makes $3.7 Million on Opening Day I know this comment section isn't the ultimate everything but I do wonder the same. Somewhere I read something like if Leo can't do adult dramas anymore he would retire from acting Quite depressing thought.
  14. No, โ€˜Killers of the Flower Moonโ€™ is Not โ€œNearly 4 Hoursโ€ A Variety report from last week had hinted that Scorseseโ€™s โ€œKillers of the Flower Moonโ€ runs โ€œnearly 4 hoursโ€ which led a few people to email me about its accuracy. I reached out to โ€˜Killersโ€™ screenwriter Eric Roth about the runtime, and he plainly stated: People like to throw out numbers. I find it rather meaningless. Mr. Scorsese's work speaks for itself. I'm just proud to be associated with this remarkable movie. There is no Indication that itโ€™s close to four hours, but that didnโ€™t stop the news from travelling all over the internet, to the point where itโ€™s now the #1 trending topic on Reddit Movies. Then you had a slew of notable media outlets reporting on the 4-hour length: here, here, here, here, here .. Itโ€™s not necessarily Varietyโ€™s fault either. 3 and a half hours could mean โ€œnearly 4.โ€ Last we heard, Scorsese had a cut of โ€˜Killersโ€™ that ran for 3 hours and 20 minutes. Iโ€™m not bothered. Length is second fiddle to quality. As Roger Ebert once said โ€œNo good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.โ€ If youโ€™re an avid movie lover, length wonโ€™t matter all that much to you, especially if youโ€™re used to, much like myself, watching double or even triple features at Saturday matinees. However, Scorsese has been really pushing it with runtimes these last few years. His last three films were all epic in length: โ€œSilenceโ€ (161 minutes), โ€œThe Wolf of Wall Streetโ€ (180 minutes) and โ€œThe Irishmanโ€ (210 minutes) had monstrous post-production processes. Initial production on the $200 million budgeted โ€˜Killersโ€™ wrapped in October of 2021. All of its actors will probably look slightly older when they walk the red steps at cannes next month. Source Quentin Tarantino Confirms That His Next Movie Will Be About Film Criticism A little update on Quentin Tarantinoโ€™s โ€œThe Movie Critic.โ€ The filmmaker is touring Europe right now, he had a very memorable stop in Paris a week ago, promoting his latest book โ€œCinema Speculation.โ€ The latest city was Brescia in Italy, two nights ago. As is accustomed with all his stops, Tarantino participated in a Q&A and, of course, inevitably, the topic of his next film came up. He went on to again deny the earlier rumors that his last film would be about Pauline Kael, but also mentioned that โ€œThe Movie Criticโ€ would be about and revolve around film criticism. "I'm going to make a film about film criticism, but it won't focus on Pauline Kael, as is rumored." So, thematically, this next Tarantino is indeed about film criticism, which, as he points out, fits in perfect harmony with his โ€œCinema Speculationโ€ book. Maybe Kael, Ebert or Sarris will have cameos? There have been a lot of online theories about the cast of โ€œThe Movie Criticโ€, but we wonโ€™t get into that right now, especially since casting hasnโ€™t even begun yet. What we do know for sure is that it will be shot this fall, the story is set in Los Angeles circa 1977, and the lead protagonist is male. The rest is really anybodyโ€™s guess. What I do hope is that Tarantino manages to send a message to the industry with this one, he hasnโ€™t been shy about his disdain for current movies. The fact that this new film takes place in the same year as when โ€œStar Warsโ€ was released, a shapeshifting moment for American movies, greed came into the picture, tells me that we might be looking at Tarantinoโ€™s scathing indictment of the industry.
