Last movie you saw...
I actually like period dramas like Atonement, Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Bridgerton, Titanic etc but this one was just dull. Nothing new, nothing special. Never watched Boogie Nights. I'm not a big Mark Wahlberg fan ๐

After AIR being the next big box office bomb people are guessing once again if Leo can save the adult drama genre with KOTFM. @Lilja K most people actually don't think so because of its length. Ben Affleckโs โAirโ Makes $3.7 Million on Opening Day I know this comment section isn't the ultimate everything but I do wonder the same. Somewhere I read something like if Leo can't do adult dramas anymore he would retire from acting Quite depressing thought.

No, โKillers of the Flower Moonโ is Not โNearly 4 Hoursโ A Variety report from last week had hinted that Scorseseโs โKillers of the Flower Moonโ runs โnearly 4 hoursโ which led a few people to email me about its accuracy. I reached out to โKillersโ screenwriter Eric Roth about the runtime, and he plainly stated: People like to throw out numbers. I find it rather meaningless. Mr. Scorsese's work speaks for itself. I'm just proud to be associated with this remarkable movie. There is no Indication that itโs close to four hours, but that didnโt stop the news from travelling all over the internet, to the point where itโs now the #1 trending topic on Reddit Movies. Then you had a slew of notable media outlets reporting on the 4-hour length: here, here, here, here, here .. Itโs not necessarily Varietyโs fault either. 3 and a half hours could mean โnearly 4.โ Last we heard, Scorsese had a cut of โKillersโ that ran for 3 hours and 20 minutes. Iโm not bothered. Length is second fiddle to quality. As Roger Ebert once said โNo good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.โ If youโre an avid movie lover, length wonโt matter all that much to you, especially if youโre used to, much like myself, watching double or even triple features at Saturday matinees. However, Scorsese has been really pushing it with runtimes these last few years. His last three films were all epic in length: โSilenceโ (161 minutes), โThe Wolf of Wall Streetโ (180 minutes) and โThe Irishmanโ (210 minutes) had monstrous post-production processes. Initial production on the $200 million budgeted โKillersโ wrapped in October of 2021. All of its actors will probably look slightly older when they walk the red steps at cannes next month. Source Quentin Tarantino Confirms That His Next Movie Will Be About Film Criticism A little update on Quentin Tarantinoโs โThe Movie Critic.โ The filmmaker is touring Europe right now, he had a very memorable stop in Paris a week ago, promoting his latest book โCinema Speculation.โ The latest city was Brescia in Italy, two nights ago. As is accustomed with all his stops, Tarantino participated in a Q&A and, of course, inevitably, the topic of his next film came up. He went on to again deny the earlier rumors that his last film would be about Pauline Kael, but also mentioned that โThe Movie Criticโ would be about and revolve around film criticism. "I'm going to make a film about film criticism, but it won't focus on Pauline Kael, as is rumored." So, thematically, this next Tarantino is indeed about film criticism, which, as he points out, fits in perfect harmony with his โCinema Speculationโ book. Maybe Kael, Ebert or Sarris will have cameos? There have been a lot of online theories about the cast of โThe Movie Criticโ, but we wonโt get into that right now, especially since casting hasnโt even begun yet. What we do know for sure is that it will be shot this fall, the story is set in Los Angeles circa 1977, and the lead protagonist is male. The rest is really anybodyโs guess. What I do hope is that Tarantino manages to send a message to the industry with this one, he hasnโt been shy about his disdain for current movies. The fact that this new film takes place in the same year as when โStar Warsโ was released, a shapeshifting moment for American movies, greed came into the picture, tells me that we might be looking at Tarantinoโs scathing indictment of the industry. Actually you're the only dramatic one I see and also the only one responding to every article/comment here, acting like you know everything about Leos love life, mocking other opinions because they are different to yours. We're wrong about Leo and Gigi? We are wasting our time with Maya? Fine. What about your time? Don't you have anything better to do with your life but imposing yourself on others? Maybe you love us lol- Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
Thx for the updates @BarbieErin ๐ผ I also think you can ship or stan a couple just for fun and not expecting them being together for all eternity lol This is what Leos love life is normally for me: kinda entertaining. Personally I don't understand why people always have to be so serious/dramatic about this whole topic. I don't know him, I don't know the women so in the end of the day he can date or not date whoever he wants. It doesn't affect my personal life at all LOL- Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)
Leonardo DiCaprio Loved Ari Asterโs โMidsommarโ Iโm just guessing that Leonardo DiCaprio has Ari Aster in his sights. The โKillers of the Flower moonโ actor loves to make movies with highly-regarded filmmakers and Aster is most definitely turning into one. While interviewed by Josh Horowitz, โMidsommarโ star Florence Pugh mentioned how she bumped into DiCaprio at a premiere, but all he wanted to talk about was her Aster cult classic: โI met [Leo] at the โDonโt Look Upโ premiere last year, but all he wanted to talk about was โMidsommarโ and Ari Aster. He was very complimentary and it was very weird to be at his premiere and all he wanted to talk about was โMidsommar.โ It was amazing.โ I did a re-evaluation of Asterโs โMidsommarโ back in 2020 after having watched the 3-hour directorโs cut โ a fuller, more depth-filled and coherent version than the theatrically released one. Aster added around 30 minutes to the original cut, and it felt much more concise than the version I had seen in the summer of 2019 at the New York premiere. The theatrical version was all over the place and has some very strange pacing issues. What I had originally dismissed as an โunsubtleโ and โmessyโ movie turned out to be a sheer delight with Asterโs 3-hour directorโs cut. The relationship between Dani and Christian was more fully fleshed-out, with further scenes added between the two to make the viewer more aware of their tumultuously shared history together. In the three-hour cut, the transformation that happens to Dani is more precisely drawn โMidsommar,โ much like Asterโs debut, โHereditary,โ is a story about grief, Daniโs grief, but done within the horror genre. It mixes horror, drama, and farce to the point where this odd amalgam of genres starts to feel like a surreal nightmare. โMidsommarโ is about the pursuit of happiness, freeing yourself from hopelessness, even if it means joining dark forces. In a way, this is a film that tackles the ideas of religion, believing in something greater than just yourself, and how a community can be a saving grace even if whatโs being preached is incredibly immoral. Source Only watched the theatrical version I found hella weird/confusing. Maybe I should give the DC a try. Didn't even know another cut exists. Now I wonder which one Leo was talking about. My parents described "this really long movie we were watching by accident aka prime told us so" as "where some swedish wackos jumped for no reason from a cliff into death and then things went really crazy" LMAO Probably Leos fave scene Source- Joseph Gordon-Levitt

It's kinda hilarious that this movie about dirty money is biting him in the ass because it was financed with the help of dirty money. A pain in the ass literally.
