Seems like we have the official final runtime. I'm really curious if people these days have the patience sitting through such a long movie in cinema Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Clocks in at a Whopping 3 Hours 54 Minutes Well, consider me shocked. Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” is NOT 3 hours 20 minutes. It’s also NOT 3 hours 45 Minutes … No, it’s 234 minutes! That’s 3 hours 54 minutes. That’s pretty close to what Fremaux hinted at, that it’s just a few minutes shy of Sergio Leone’s “Once Upon A Time in America,” which ran for over 4 hours. I’m guessing that when ‘Killers’ screens at Cannes it’ll be a day almost solely dedicated to Scorsese’s epic, you won’t have too many other films from the official selection screening that day. If people were complaining about the duration of “The Irishman” then watch out … His last three films were all epic in length: “Silence” (161 minutes), “The Wolf of Wall Street” (180 minutes) and “The Irishman” (210 minutes). Scorsese’s taking it to a whole other level with this one. Of course, I’m not bothered. Length is second fiddle to quality. As Roger Ebert once said “No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.” Other lengthy Cannes runtimes this year include Steve McQueen’s “Occupied City” (240 minutes), Wang Bing’s “Youth” (210 minutes), Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s “About Dry Grasses” (197 minutes), Justin Triet’s “Anatomy of a Fall” (150 minutes), and ‘Indy 5’ (142 minutes). While the exact runtime has yet to be confirmed, The Movie Database listed the movie's theatrical runtime as 3 hours and 54 minutes. However, in an interview with Variety, Cannes Film Festival's director Thierry Fremaux was asked about the movie's runtime. While he was unsure of the film's final cut, he stated it is five minutes longer than Once Upon a Time in America (if the extended cut, 4 hours and 11 minutes). If so, the movie's extended cut could run up to 4 hours and 16 minutes. Screen Rant has reached out to Apple for confirmation but has not heard back in time of publication. Killers Of The Flower Moon's Runtime Is Historic While taking into account the intermission time and overture, Gone with the Wind runs approximately 3 hours and 58 minutes, which is only four minutes longer than Scorsese's film reported runtime. In contrast, Fremaux doesn't specify which version of Once Upon a Time in America he is comparing it to since there were three different cuts. The extended cut hits over four hours, while the United States version was only 2 hours and 19 minutes. The European release was much longer at 3 hours and 49 minutes, in which Fremaux's estimation would line up with the length set by The Movie Database. While over three-hour movies are not unusual in the mainstream, such as the Avatar movies and Avengers: Endgame, a near-four-hour length is a rarity. Still, Killers of the Flower Moon could become one of the longest American movies in history, joining the likes of movies such as Lawrence of Arabia (3 hours and 42 minutes), Ben-Hur (3 hours and 32 minutes), and 1996's Hamlet (4 hours and 2 minutes). It would also become one of the longest movies in the 21st century. The runtime is also a record for Scorsese and DiCaprio, who have regularly worked on lengthy films. Scorsese's longest movies include The Irishman (3 hours and 29 minutes) and Wolf of Wall Street (3 hours), which starred frequent collaborator DiCaprio. DiCaprio's career longest film was Titanic (3 hours and 14 minutes), and he featured in many nearly three-hour movies, such as Django Unchained (2 hours and 45 minutes). Now, Killers of the Flower Moon will break that feat for both director and actor. With Oscar buzz already surrounding it, its lengthiness may affect those responses, but it could still become one of the most competitive movies in the upcoming award season. ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ is Now 3 Hours 45 Minutes? In an interview with Thierry Fremaux, Variety’s Elsa Keslassy let it slip that Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” is 3 hours 45 minutes. Is that a confirmation? Fremaux’s response is interesting … I don’t know what the final length is, but let’s say that for me it’s not an issue. All I know is that it’s only five minutes more than “Once Upon a Time in America.” Fremaux again stated how the film is “great” and is “obviously invited in competition”. He adds that he’s now “waiting to hear their [Apple] decision. We have until the last minute.” He additionally tells the story of when Fellini won the Palme d’Or for “La Dolce Vita,” he said “I’m not coming back in competition.” Scorsese won the Palme d’Or in 1976. “So obviously one could say, he doesn’t have much to gain considering his prestigious status. Expect one thing: the Palme d’Or. I think he should come in competition.” It’s not like Scorsese didn’t get back into competition after the “Taxi Driver” win. Scorsese competed two more times in 1983 and 1986 for “The King of Comedy” and “After Hours.” Scorsese has been really pushing it with runtimes these last few years. His last three films were all epic in length: “Silence” (161 minutes), “The Wolf of Wall Street” (180 minutes) and “The Irishman” (210 minutes) had monstrous post-production processes. Cannes Wants Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ in Competition: “We’re Waiting on Their Response” UPDATED: Thierry Fremaux has extended his thoughts on whether we’ll see ‘Killers’ in competition: Technically and to commend Apple’s decision to release the film in theatres even though the film was selected out of competition, I extended the option for it to be in competition. I invited Marty’s film to premiere out of competition since it was a film for a platform, that was already fantastic. Then Apple said that they would release the film in theatres which was also fantastic. So I said, well in that case, you are welcome in competition, and now we’ll see what their response is. I’ll respect the decision of Martin Scorsese and of Apple. Fremaux also mentions that the film is “very strong” and even made him cry. Just inject it into my veins already! EARLIER: It’s not a done deal that Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” will play out of competition. At today’s press conference, Cannes boss Thierry Frémaux reiterated his desire to have Scorsese’s film play in competition, but added that he’s waiting on Scorsese and Apple to give him the go-ahead. I imagine this is a diplomatic way for Frémaux to both flatter and pressure Scorsese/Apple by suggesting that the film is competition-worthy. I don't know who Frémaux is expecting an answer from. He explained that he made the request, obviously Scorsese was informed of it and does not seem opposed to it. So, is the ball on Apple’s court? Even yesterday, when interviewed by France Inter, Frémaux said he did not to know if it would be in competition for the Palme d’Or. Source

She's probably the only actress who stands not only to her body but resists to use filters for her face and body in front of a camera fighting for body positivy among (young) women since forever. Mare of Easttown wasn't only a major but special hit for her and she's in 2 of the most successful movies ever made (one of them post pandemic) while "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is making the lists of best movies again and again (same for Sense and Sensibility among best Jane Austen adaptations). Even her "weaker" movies like Colleteral Beauty and The Mountain Between Us are having strong ratings at IMDB. Also The Dressmaker is fuckin iconic. She's a total queen and claim something different is just ridiculous.

Next stop: Barcelona, Spain. What we do know so far about his next film, “The Movie Critic,” is that it will be shot this fall, the story is set in Los Angeles circa 1977, and the lead protagonist is male. Tarantino gave us some brand new clues in Barcelona last night, insinuating that this isn’t going to be a revenge story like all of the films he’s made the last 20 years. “There is a lot of speculation about who it is based on. And yes, he is a real critic, but he is not known […] it will also not be what you might call a “revenge story”. Let’s give you a brief history about why I believe this next film is about William Margold. Tarantino’s writings under the pseudonym of Jim Sheldon on the New Beverly website have gone totally under the radar. This made-up character is said to be a critic for the Hollywood Press (a cheap 70's porno magazine that featured mainstream movie criticism). Tarantino has, more or less, admitted that Sheldon is based on William Margold — who he brings up in his book “Cinema Speculation” during the chapter on Paul Schrader’s “Hardcore”. In the final years of his life, Margold had his own blog where he mentioned how Tarantino was an avid fan of his film criticsm. Margold claimed that Tarantino was obsessed with Hollywood Press and LA Xpress for 30 years, but he himself has admitted to hating Tarantino's movies. Along with being a film critic, Margold was also the former director of the Free Speech Coalition and a co-founder of X-Rated Critics Organization and Fans of X-Rated Entertainment. Like someone here pointed out not long ago he only made 2 movies this decade. It's hard to make bad decisions with so little. Also define "bad" lol It's also more common than some may think that many actors/actresses are making some movies/shows just for cash and nothing else.
