Talking about that, I still don’t get the point of calling back the regulars just to dismiss them... certainly the casting directors already knew they wouldn’t cast them, so why call them back? ?
That was my question way back when the cast list was released. I didn't get it, and never really got a straight answer.

I think partly, that's to do with box office numbers, but it's also to do with a distribution model that increasingly means that only large scale 'event' movies with massive marketing budgets can drag people away from their streaming services and 60-inch TVs. Hollywood is selling time these days, as much as anything else – see it now, while it’s hot and people are talking about it. It’s not a model likely to generate many Chinatowns or 2001s, but a lot of it is down to the studios simply going where the market takes them.
Yeah,pretty much that too.

While I applaud and am with those who feel the time is right to come out over their abuse and harassment, I can't help but wonder how much of the behavior is 1) still not talked about and 2) how do you sift through the truth to find the false allegations out there to make it a witch hunt ala the MacCarthy hearings?

I agree. The fact that there are women essentially bleaching their skin to adhere to a beauty ideal that arose from outdated classism should be the first "warning sign."
To the "she's Chinese, let her be Asian" argument, here she is next to Liu Wen, who looks perfectly natural (no doritos here) and Sui is noticeably paler. I'm not saying Sui needs twelve coats of spray tan. I'm just thinking the "dead girl walking" look isn't ideal for a lingerie show.
maybe she;s a vampire?

Pablo Hidalgo is the canon master for Lucasfilm.
There are plans for a live action Star Wars TV show too.

I did not remember about Pablo. Thanks for the reminder.
I'm on the fence about streaming, so I'm trying to not get too excited. But it would be hella cool to see something in the TOR realm!

Sorry if I forgot anyone.
I just got an erection!
Very cool, though I'm trying to stay cautiously optimistic with the franchise in total. I'm sure I'll have a better idea of how Rian treats SW after 12/15.
To the notes about the books, etc, going into cannon.... (Grab a drink and a snack, this may be long....)When Lucas still owned LucasFilm fully, he kept a tight reign on the bible. So there were only a few misses with the vast array of books. When he sold to Disney, a lot of the old cannon got tossed to the side and branded with the term Legends on the cover. Sucked for a lot of us who used that 25+ years of cannon to do the old table top SW RPG.
During the time that the two were in talks to sell-buy the franchise, a little animated movie called Star Wars: the Clone Wars was released. A second Clone Wars series was ordered and ran on Cartoon Network.
When the sale went through, Disney (for sake of making more money to offset that $4B price tag, they said from the movies (the first six) and the Clone Wars movie and series was cannon.
Dave Filoni, who's responsible for the Clone Wars and the newer series Rebels, would take what stuff he loved from the original cannon (now known as Legends) and put shit back in. His favorite characters, planets, events and crafts were slipped back into the New Cannon. Unfortunately, this is the last season of Rebels on DisneyXD,so we won't see more, unless Disney greenlights another series.Fans of the show Rebels show may have noticed in Force Awakens, the little cranky R5 unit, Chopper, popped up in one of the scenes. Also, in Rouge One, not only do we see the Ghost, but you hear her captain being called over the intercom. So that was kind of cool too. Seeing how that kind of cannon works is one of my guilty pleasures.
If you read this to here, congrats. You now know how much of a SW Geekette/Nerdette I am. -

I feel like this happens not only to Disney but that most "big name" movies nowadays are either sequels or adaptations of something else instead of original material. Or has it always been more or less like that?
Sadly, it's been this way since the "Holy Trilogy" came to and end in 83. Hollywood is in the remake-retelling mode for the last 30 years. No one wants to put money down on an original idea when sequels and prequels are deemed cash grabs.

Realistically, who do you think will get the bra for the next five years (if they stay)? Do you think anyone will get their second go at the bra before someone else gets their first?
If these ladies are still with VS on these years;
2018: Elsa or Sara
2019: Sara or Elsa (depends on who gets it next year)
2020: Martha
2021: Taylor
2022: Adriana as a final farewell. It will be a set, and include the 3 million dollar encrusted walker that's done in a striking flame job.

Adri's got on one of my favorite outfits ever for VS.
Doutzen proves she should have gotten the FB before she left with the casual remark backstage, "I'm a Poodle." then nails the walk.
Love Karlie, loved her short hair and her natural brunette. The shades of blonde she's wearing now wash her out completely.

Typical Okie attitude. Almost everyone I know from Oklahoma is like that in some way.
